Group 1 - Bates’ Ch Gunthwaites Ayr Of Elegance JW – (R Ridgeback) My find of the day, aptly named, she is strong and muscular whilst maintaining her elegance, Most beautiful eye and expression and the best of heads. Excellent front with sloping shoulder bringing her elbows well under. Deep chest and excellent ribbing carried back to strong loin and powerful hindquarters, low set hock and good width to first and second thigh. Moved with great reach and drive and true in all directions. Shown in excellent condition, she was an easy decision for Best AVNSC and HGp1.

Group 2 - Dawson’s Mischran The Sequel For Stubbylee JW (Borzoi) - Handsome brindle and white with a good head and dark well shaped eyes. Strong neck into a well laid shoulder with matching return and good feet and pasterns. Deep chest that’s well ribbed and holds a nice topline both stacked and moving. Well made hindquarters. Had great style to his light movement and showed good reach and drive with precise footfall.

Group 3 - Searle & Rawlinson’s Reffton Tibalt At Whipsearle JW CW25 imp (Whippet) – Masculine red fawn of correct size. He has matured since I last judged him. Lovely outline with curves where they should be. Moderate all through with no hint of exaggeration. Good neck that sits cleanly into a well made front with good return of upper arm. Deep chest and well ribbed back. Strong thighs and short hocks. His movement was clean and he had reach and drive with a daisy cutting action. Lovely condition. BOB & HGp3

Group 4 - Turton & Stromberg’s Whistlewood’s Fire And Ice (Basset Fauve De Bretagne) – 2 Yr old dog, liked his head and expression, longest ears, a strong neck, well laid shoulder and return, well ribbed back, a shade long for preference. well muscled, a little naughty on the move, but once he got it together showed good reach and freedom of movement and was sound and true BOB + Gp4

Puppy Group 1 – Bastow’s Cloudside Bright Flame Karandikar (Afghan Hound) – Excels in breed type. Upstanding red male with a beautiful head that has strength without being coarse and chiselling evident. Well shaped, dark eyes, giving good expression. Long neck into a well laid shoulder with matching return, enough depth and fill for his age, well ribbed back to a short loin. He had good length to first and second thighs and a well bent stifle with short hocks. When settled he moved with reach and a light easy gait. Loved him. BP & HPG1

Puppy Group 2 - Cooper’s Ballauren’s You Got It (Whippet) – Fawn and white of lovely type. She was the most collected on the move today. Lovely head and eye, with pleasing expression. Long neck and enough depth and body for age. She is a little flat in backline at the moment but has a nice underline, good bone and tidy feet. Moderate rear with good length to thighs. Showed good reach with a daisy cutting action and was sound in all directions. Handled to get the very best from her, well done. BP & HPG2
