Thank you to the committee for their kind invitation to judge Golden Retrievers at this well run show and to my stewards for their help in keeping the ring running smoothly. Congratulations to the BOB and BP in being awarded RBIS and BPIS: the icing on the cake after a thoroughly enjoyable day.

Minor Puppy : 3 (0)

1. Copley – Ashbyglen True Colours At Emmabe – Mid gold 6 months old puppy who is so well put together. I found a very balanced puppy with attractive head and excellent pigmentation, giving a kind expression. He has plenty of bone together with a level topline and tailset and well sprung ribs. Sturdy front with correct length of shoulder, together with close fitting elbows. Correct front and rear angulation which he used to advantage when moving around the ring.

2. Jackson-Haines – Leighsham Sweeney Todd – 7 months old. Another well put together puppy. Short coupled golden boy in full coat. Kind head and expression with black nose and dark eye. Neck flows into well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm with correct angulation front and rear. Didn’t move quite as well as my winner.

3. Webb & Smith – Waterbabies Walk Tall At Hectson (Imp ITA)

Puppy: 4 (0)

1.Davis – Lynste Dream Boy (AI) – 11 month old mid gold boy – Very balanced outline with attractive head and dark eye. Good reach of neck and front angulation. Level topline and sound hindquarters. Presented in lovely condition and he moved soundly and confidently for this and the next class. BDP

2. Mears – Ambersun Winter Storm – 12 month old cream boy - shown in full pale coat, lovely masculine head with soft expression. Good upper arm, level topline and tail set with neat hocks. Moved out well.

2. Henson – Flyngalee Hunky Dory – 14 month old cream boy – He is well up to size. Kind head with dark eye and nose. Clean muscular neck of good length and flowing into level topline and tailset. Well laid clean shoulders together with good depth of ribs and well off for bone. Good angulation front and rear. Moved better in the next class.

3. Mears – Ambersun Winter Storm

1. Henson – Flyngalee Hunky Dory – As above

2. Smith - Rocamoka Harbour Light - Masculine head with pleasing expression. Good length of neck into well placed shoulders. Level topline although a tad longer cast. Good front construction to this young man with good deep chest, straight forelegs and neat feet.

3. Moore – Tenfield Klipspringer With Auryngra

Graduate Dog: 5 (1)

1. Middleton-Collins – Berrymeade Dream On With Jasperleigh JW - Well muscled dark golden boy in full gleaming coat. Masculine head without coarseness giving a kind expression. Straight front legs with good tight feet. Clean muscular neck of good length and flowing into level topline and tailset. Well laid clean shoulders together with good depth of ribs and well off for bone. Good angulation front and rear and moved around the ring with good reach and drive Best Dog

2. Webb & Smith – Waterbabies A Sea Of Faces To Hectson (Imp ITA) - This cream boy has a pleasing head and kind expression with correct length of neck leading onto good shoulder placement. He has good front and rear angulation with tightly fitted elbows. He has depth of body and well sprung ribs. I would prefer tighter feet and he moved happily with his handler.

Post Graduate: 9 (2)

1. Henson – Cinderbank Move It JW - Attractive cream boy. Gorgeous head with kind expression. A good reach of neck set into well placed shoulders. Well sprung ribcage with level topline and correct tailset. Straight front and has plenty of heart room. Good angulation front and rear. Good bone, neat tight feet with well let down hocks, which allowed him to move well.

2. Middleton-Collins – Berrymeade A Fool In Love Of Jasperleigh JW Golden boy who presents a very pleasing balanced outline. Kind head and expression –although preferred the winner’s expression. Clean muscular neck of good length and flowing into level topline and tailset. Well laid shoulders together with good depth of ribs and well off for bone. Shown in lovely coat and condition.

3. Lane & Lane-Ridyard – Hardyllic Jack Of Diamonds With Kulawand

1. Fleet & Webb – Waterbabies Sonic Boom To Eastbury And Hectson (Imp ITA) Strong and well muscled cream boy in full gleaming coat. Masculine head without coarseness giving a kind expression. Good angulation front and rear. Clean muscular neck of good length and flowing into level topline and tailset. Well laid clean shoulders together with good depth of ribs and well off for bone. RBD

2. Morriss-Garet & Morriss – Lovely short coupled golden dog. Gorgeous head with kind expression. A good reach of neck set into well placed shoulders. Well sprung ribcage with level topline and correct tailset. Straight front and has plenty of heart room. Good angulation front and rear. Good bone, neat tight feet with well let down hocks but sadly today his movement wasn’t as good as the winner.

1. Jackson-Haines – Leighsham Legally Blonde - Mid gold puppy of 7 months in lovely coat and condition. Pretty feminine head and expression. Good neck into well laid back shoulders. Good bone. Neat feet. Level top line and correct tail set. Good rear angulation. Well balanced overall. Moved very well with handler. BPB

2. Low – Altindan Venice Queen – just 6 months old. Pretty head with soft expression. Good shoulders with front angulation although I preferred the winner’s angulation on upper arm. Level top line and correct tail. Good rear angulation. In good coat and condition.

3. Mandley – Maltqudos Vanity Fayre

Puppy Bitch: 4(2)

1. Poile & Blackboro’s Cherrimar Electra -This pretty 10 month mid gold bitch puppy has a gentle head with dark eyes and pigmentation. She has a straight front and is deep in body. She has a good layback of shoulder with good length of upper arm and she is short in her couplings. Correct front and rear angulation with good length of leg.

2. Furbank – Kayzaelle Kumbuka Peace – 11 month old cream puppy bitch. Pretty feminine head with pleasing expression. Good shoulders with front angulation and tight elbows. Level top line with good rear angulation. In good coat and condition.

Junior Bitch: 7(3)

1. Smith – Goldmarker Luminora - . A short coupled golden girl in full coat. She has a feminine head, dark eye and nose which gives her a lovely expression. She has well sprung deep ribs and close fitting elbows. The neck flows into well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm. She presented a well balanced picture with correct angulation front and rear and moved very well.

2. Clunie – Warrentor Abilene JW – Another golden girl with kind head and appealing expression. She has a straight front with correct bone and good reach of neck leading into well angulated shoulders. Firm level topline and good tailset. Well presented and moved well.

3. Furbank – Kayzaelle Kumbuka Peace

Graduate Bitch: 7(4)

1. Taggart – Altindan User Friendly JW, SGWC – She has a lovely feminine head and soft expression. Very well made, giving a balanced picture. She has plenty of bone and is well up on her pasterns with correct feet. Short coupled with well sprung deep ribs and close fitting elbows. Correct front and rear angulation which she used to advantage when moving around the ring. RBB

2. Mandley – Maltqudos Enchanted JW – Another lovely bitch shown in full golden coat. Feminine head with sweet expression. Clean neck flowing onto well placed shoulders and upper arm. She is short coupled with well sp rung deep ribs and close fitting elbows. Correct front and rear angulation with good length of leg. A little of proud of her tail today.

Post Graduate Bitch: 5(3)

1. Falconer – Cheek To Cheek Unbridled Dreams For Siatham (Imp Fra) JW – Compact feminine blonde bitch. Pretty head and kind expression. Very well made giving a balanced picture. Short coupled with well sprung deep ribs and close fitting elbows. Moved very happily with her handler.

2. Smith – Rocamoka Funky Business – Nicely shaped golden girl with a sweet head and expression. She has all the essentials but not quite the angulation of my winner and would like tidier feet.

Open Bitch: 6 (3)

1.Clunie – Warrentor Nohkalikai JW – Very well put together 3 year old mature bitch, giving a balanced picture and shown in gleaming rich gold coat. She has a lovely feminine head with a happy expression She has plenty of bone and is well up on her pasterns with correct feet. Short coupled with well sprung deep ribs and close fitting elbows. Loin short with strong topline. Hocks well let down. Such a sound mover, covering the ground with a free and easy stride. BOB

2. Bufton & Riley – Phoslas Polly Flinders – Another lovely bitch shown in a glamourous pale cream coat. She has a feminine head with kind eye. The neck flows into well placed shoulders and good return of upper arm. She presented a well balanced picture with correct angulation front and rear. She moved out very nicely, but the winner just had the edge on movement.
