Breed: Boston Terrier

Thank you to committee and officers for giving me the opportunity to judge at your friendly show and the generous hospitality shown. Happy 100th Anniversary! Thanks also go to Sue and Pete, the two lovely stewards whom ensured everything ran smoothly. And a special thanks to the exhibitors for allowing me to go over your dogs. All were in excellent condition and beautifully turned out!

Puppy

1st - Gill and Hamlin’s Demorace Belle Star At Simberfour (8 mth F)

Stood alone in her class, however there’s a lot to like about this young female. Well balanced and proportioned throughout, pleasing development for age. Strongly boned limbs and neat feet. Correct square head, well set ears. Good spring of rib. Chest coming in nicely. Level topline and great rear angulation. Moved well at all times. RBOB and BP

Junior 1st - Masters’ Aprika Graceland (13 mth F)

Fantastic feminine head type, scores well for skull, eye, ear and muzzle. Beautiful expression. Good length to arched neck, well placed shoulder and sprung ribcage. Level topline. All round good angulation. Sound and elegant on the move. Stood four square on small, compact feet. So connected to her handler. BOB and went on to collect a lovely Group 3

2nd - Svitanova’s Valbrown’s Not For Sale (imp) (14 mth M)

Square, Masculine head, dark round eyes, small erect ears well set. Neck of good length, leading into well laid shoulder, good depth of chest and short loin. Good rear angulation. Unfortunately he wasn’t at all happy on the move today!

Post Graduate

1st - Strickland’s Wynele Lady Crystal Melrose (4 yrs F)

Square skull, good round and dark eye. Small ears, set and carried well. Deep chest, well sprung rib, short loin. Presents a balanced look. Moved out well.

Open -

1st - Svitanova’s Texas Dream Boy  (7 yrs M)

Heavier set, masculine dog. Square head, well used small ears. Good length of neck, correct lay of shoulder. Deep chest, good length with strong loin. Went well in profile with powerful movement.

2nd - Strickland’s Wynele Harvey Kelaston (5 yrs M)

Square head, nice dark eye, good for ear set and size. Neck rather short, but this doesn’t detract from his compact and balanced outline. Unsettled on the move at times, but handler quick to correct.
