Breed: Rottweiler

First of all I’d like to say a big thank you to the Committee for inviting me to judge at the show, I had a really great day. I’d like to thank my ring stewards who did a great job of keeping the ring flowing smoothly and of course the biggest thank you goes to everyone who entered under me, I was thrilled to have the highest entry in the Working group. I had some very nice dogs to go over and I had to make some tough decisions, so thank you to the exhibitors for accepting my decisions in a sporting manner.

Puppy (1/0)

1.Pinky & Mulhall's DARKARMAR VON PIA.

6 Months old female puppy of very nice type. She has a pleasing head, strong yet feminine, correct eye shape and colour, correct set and carried large ears, dark pigment and correct dentition for age.

She creates a lovely profile on the stand, she’s well off for bone and substance, has a lovely straight front, level topline and balanced angles front and rear. She moved around the ring well with good reach and drive, holding her topline. She has a correct tail carriage also. Very promising puppy who I will watch with interest. BPIB & later went on to get Working Puppy group 2. Well done

Junior (10/5)

1.Williams, Jones & Monk’s WESTFALEN OLEARIA BEST TEAM WITH KIARATAZ.

14 months old very nice young female. My notes say “such a correct bitch” She’s got a Beautiful headpiece so feminine and gives a harmonious expression. She has dark eyes & well set and carried ears. Dark mouth pigment and correct dentition.

She has such a lovely clean outline. Correct body proportions. Nicely arched neck leading into a straight front & nice tight feet. Level topline and correct balanced angles front and rear.  Correct tail set and carriage. She moved so sound in all directions at one with her handler, holding her topline well. Reserve Best of Breed.

2. Smith’s JAEGEROT MR MARVELLOUS.

14 months old male. Another promising youngster.

He has a Masculine headpiece with Moderate wrinkle when alert. Nice eye colour, slightly round in shape. Correct ear set and carriage. Pink mouth pigment, correct dentition. Another who creates a nice picture on the stand, although his shoulders could be slightly cleaner. He’s well off for bone and substance, lovely straight front and tight feet. Correct level topline. Little short in upper arm but his rear angles are correct. He moved out well in all directions with good reach and drive.

Post Graduate (6/3)

1 See 1 in Junior.

2. Thomas's ABACAB’S DREAMING AT VEDONIS.

3 year old female who is absolutely stunning.

If I’m honest she was more my type than 1. She has a beautiful head, dark eye of correct shape, well set and carried ears. Mottled pigment and correct dentition. She’s well off for bone and substance.

She creates a nice outline on the stand, shes very well constructed but shoulders could be slightly cleaner if I’m to be picky. Strong neck leading into a firm level topline. She has correct balanced angles both front and rear. She is slightly east west in front though. Correct tail set and carriage. She moved out with plenty of reach and drive, but she was a little close in the rear.

She was unsettled today in herself, probably because of the loud echoing indoor environment.

Open (10/3)

I have to say this was a really good class of quality dogs. I wish I had more places to give out. I really had to nit pick to get my final decisions.

1.Cartwright’s STEIGEN SILKY NUTMEG GANASH

23 months old quality female who oozes breed type. She is simply stunning and one I could have taken home.

She has the most beautiful of heads, ambient expression, correct eye shape and color, correct ear set and carriage and dark mottled mouth with correct dentition. Well off for bone and substance.

She creates a picture perfect profile. She’s clean throughout and very well made. Strong neck leading into a firm level topline, strong straight front on nice tight feet. Correctly balanced angles front and rear, correct tail set and carriage. Excellent coat condition and colour. She moved with plenty of reach and drive, sound in all directions, her topline could be firmer on the move but this could come with maturity.  Very well handled. I was very pleased to award her Best of Breed and over the moon to see her take Working group 1. I will watch her future with interest.

2. Jones and Monk’s WESTFALEN LOVE BY DESIGN WITH OLEARIA

3 years old, Another quality female who is a fantastic example of the breed.

Beautiful feminine head with the darkest of eye giving a pleasing expression. Correct ear set and carriage. Dark mouth pigment and correct dentition. She creates a beautiful profile on the stand, so balanced throughout. Good length of neck leading into a firm level topline, I preferred this girls topline to 1. Straight front and tight feet. Correct balanced angles front and rear, correct tail set and carriage.

She moved with reach and drive, true in all directions retaining her level topline. She was out of coat today and would of benefited from a bit more weight. But non the less a quality female
