Basset Hound

Puppy 2

1 Hampton’s Your Faith Van Grunsven at Bassluxe (Imp Nld) NAF TAF

Lovely bitch of good substance that moved with fluid movement. Feminine domed head with correct planes, well placed soft leathers, dark eyes. Good width of muzzle. Good length of neck leading into well placed shoulders. Prominent chest, level top line stacked and kept whilst on the move. Ribbing carried well back. Spherical hind quarters, good bend of stifle, well knuckled feet. Moved true coming and going. BP. HPG1

2 Daelman’s Bazettdael’s Hubbabubba

Dog with masculine domed head, correct planes and dark eyes. Smaller package than 1. Good neck, shoulders and prominent chest. Top line held stacked and whilst on the move. Spherical hind quarters, good bend of stifle. Movement not as positive as 1. A little more wrinkle on legs than I would prefer.

Junior 1

1 Seddon’s Bazettdael’s Chupa Chups At Sedonia

Dog with domed head, correct head planes, dark eyes. Sufficient neck leading into well placed shoulders. Pronounced chest, sufficient ribbing and bend of stifle. Level top line. He seemed uncertain which showed in his movement which was a little haphazzard. I would prefer a little less wrinkle on his legs.

Open 6 (1a)

Two lovely bitches with very similar construction headed up this class. I saw after judging from the catalogue that they are litter sisters.

1 Pearson’s Armardio Wind of Change.JW

Bitch of excellent breed type with good substance and full of quality. Domed head with correct head planes and dark eyes. Has good strength of muzzle but still so feminine. Sufficient neck leading into well layed shoulders. Excellent chest, ribbing carried well back leading to strong loins. Level top line held stacked and whilst on the move. Well muscled hind quarters. Moved with parallel action, driving from behind. BOB. HG 3.

2 Pearson’s Armardio Candle In The Wind. JW

Another lovely bitch. Many of the remarks above apply just not quite so mature as 1. Domed head with correct planes and dark eyes. Well developed chest, good ribbing, stifle and hind quarters. Level top line. Fluid movement.

RBOB

3 Strudwick’s Armardio Ride Like The Wind among Kumamatata. JW.

Limit 2

1 Webster’s Rossut Vizier For Houndcoast

This all masculine dog won his placing on his movement. Good head with sufficient stop, dark eyes and appealing expression. Good length of neck leading into well layed shoulders with good length of upper arm. Good spring of rib with ribbing carried well back. Moved with reach and drive keeping a level top line. Well knuckled feet.

2 Lennard’s Butterow Unity

This bitch is also well constructed with good balance. Feminine with a good head and dark eyes. Well layed shoulders with corresponding upper arm of good length. Good front, ribbing carried well back and a good bend of stifle. She moved well but with not quite the reach and drive of 1.

Open 4 (2a)

Close decision.

1 Webster’s Michelroy Pimpernell with Houndscoast JW

Masculine dog all through winning his placing on his front movement. Good head with dark eyes and appealing expression. Good length of neck leading into well placed shoulders, good front, length of ribbing and bend of stifle. Moved with reach and drive. Well knuckled feet.

2 Lennard’s Butterrow Rumba

Compact, well balanced bitch. Similar remarks above apply. She moved out well coming and going and looked good in profile. Just not quite the reach of 1.
