Colne, Nelson and District 27/9/25 Pugs

I would like to thank the officers and committee for the kind invitation to judge pugs at this lovely show, also my ring stewards who did a great job on a very windy day. I was delighted with my entry and thanks for this, and the great sportsmanship must go to the exhibitors.

Puppy 1st Reynolds and Dawson-Payne, Judamie Croftren Gift Of The Gab a 6 and a half month old fawn bitch one of three puppy from the same litter shown that were all well schooled and so together for their age. This puppy had a head of correct shape with nostrils of a good size, dark eyes dark pigment , lovely well defined not over done wrinkles. She has a straight front, good length of neck leading to a level top line, with a tail which curls over the hip, her ribs are well sprung. She is short and coby and full of herself on the move.

Junior 1 st Storeys Rhodenash Kandoo Karousel 14 month old fawn bitch with a lovely expression, that gives the impression of mischief, her head is of correct shape, her eyes full of fire she has neat dark ears that frame her correct shaped head. She is short , with a straight front well sprung ribs and a good lay of shoulder, has a level top line and a high set tail good bone, a short fine coat and is very controlled on the move.

2nd Reynolds Croftren Glorious Grace, sister to the puppy in the previous class, another very pretty bitch with a beautiful soft expression, good nostrils, well defined wrinkles and lovely dark eyes and excellent pigment, She has a straight front a level topline, good lay of shoulder and a lovely high set tail. Her coat is short and tight, and she has the neatest of feet. When she moved she was the most controlled and steady of the puppies BPIB delighted to see her take puppy group 1.

3rd Gledhill’s Weaverham Padam Padam, I just had to comment on how well this black bitch has matured when she has her ears down, she has a beautiful head with an expression that would melt ice she just needs the confidence to keep her ears forward so judges can see this. She has a good body, level top line but her lack of confidence makes her movement a bit erratic.

1st Storey’s Rhodenash Kopy Kast a 3 year old male who caught my attention the minute he stepped in the ring he just owned that space. He has a beautiful masculine head with the darkest eyes so full of fire , a good width of jaw and lovely padding under his eyes all framed with lovely neat ears. Nice crest of neck leading to a good lay of shoulder a straight front level top line, well set tail and a fantastically defined second thigh. On the move true in all directions BOB

2ND Reynolds Croftren Come On Over, The third puppy from the same litter and they all have a very similar famine head with a lovely soft expression framed with the darkest ears. This was the shortest of the three with a level top line and straight front I preferred the tail set on my BP which for me just gave her the better shape in profile but none the less this was another very nice puppy and I am sure they will all swap places regularly.
