South West Durham Canine Society

Breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

My thanks to the Officers and Committee of South West Durham Canine Society for their invitation to judge at their Open show on the 8th February 2025. Also, to my steward who helped my classes runsmoothly and to the exhibitors for your entries. I had some lovely dogs to go over. (REVISED)

CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIEL

Post Graduate (3,1a)

1st,

Miss S L & Mr. M C & Mr. M J Eccles, Spall & Clark`s - LLapsttam Get Knotted JW. Beautiful wholecolour male 22 months old who immediately caught my eye. Black with rich tan markings, soft silky coat with plenty of feathering throughout. He has super head, a good stop, scissor bite, well set on ears, large dark eyes with a soft melting expression. A good reach of neck leading on to well laid-back shoulders, goodfore chest well sprung rib and a level top line which he held both standing and on the move. He was wellangulated throughout, balanced from every angle and had excellent movement. (BOB).

2nd,

Miss K Kynaston`s Granasil Ovaltine JW, slightly larger 23-month-old Ruby male. His head was large, with a good stop, scissor bite, large dark eyes which gave him a soft expression. He has well set on ears with plenty of feathering's, coat was soft and silky. He had well laid-back shoulders and good spring of rib, a level top line. Movement was good, just preferred overall balance of 1.

Open (2, 1a)

1st Miss Walkers Stavonga Sky Walker at Kayceekay JW OSW ShCEx a masculine Blenheim dog just under 4-year-old. Mature head with good stop. Dark eyes and a soft expression. He has well set ears, ample neck,good lay of shoulder, well sprung ribs, level top line. Coat was soft with rich tan markings, well broken up and reasonable feathering. Moved well around the ring.
