South West Durham Canine Society

My thanks to the Officers and Committee of South West Durham Canine Society for their invitation to judge at their Open show on the 8th February 2025. Also, to my steward who helped my classes run smoothly and to the exhibitors for your entries. Very much appreciated, I had some lovely dogs to go over.

Junior (2,1a)

1st Cairns Anzhela Scent Francis. An 18-month-old dog, A masculine head with plenty of workings. Well set ears, a dark eye and open nares. Ample neck, a straight front with a reasonable spring of rib. Shoulders were well laid-back leading to level top line. Nice turn of strife, Tail set was ok moved well around the ring.

Post Graduate (2)

1st Elenors Afterglow Dream Topping at Roesclan JW, A very nice 19-month-old bitch, with a pretty well worked head. Her eyes are dark, giving her a nice soft expression, nares open nice width of jaw jet black pigment throughout contrasting well with her pale coat. Nice reach of neck, well laid-back shoulders and a level top line. Reasonably well angulated at both ends with steady parallel movement.

2nd Walkers Afterglow Wild West Hero at Sunlea JW, litter brother to 1. Masculine, equally as well pigmented, short compact, good bone and plenty of workings on the head. Dark eyes and ears, wide underjaw. Slightly shorter neck than litter sister, and a darker warmer coloured coat. He had a good fore chest, good lay of shoulder, top line ok. High tail set, moved out well.

1st Walker`s Afterglow Able Mabel of Sunlea JW. 2 ½ year old bitch. Super pretty head with soft expression, well set on ears, dark eye, wide jaw and open nares. Super dark pigment contrasting with lovely soft pale coat. She is short and compact with good angulations and moved very well around the ring.

2nd Turnbull’s Nicobri`s Lord of The Rings JW. A very nice dog with plenty of bone and substance. He has a masculine head with large dark eyes, wide under jaw, open nares, jet black pigment throughout contrasting with his soft short pale coat. A good reach of neck, lovely forechest and straight front. Shoulders well laid back good top line and high set tail. Moved well with drive.

1st Cowie`s CH Afterglow Esther La Vista Megipugi JW. 2 ½ year old. I have always admired this bitch from ring side and was not disappointed when I had my hands on her. She has a super feminine head with soft melting expression. Jet black pigment, soft short pale jacket, small neat ears, eyes are large and dark, open nares and a lovely wide underjaw. A good reach of neck leading to well lay back of shoulder. She short and compact with a super forechest. Her front is straight, top line is level leading to a high set tail. Very balance and well angulated at both ends. So well-constructed which was evident in her super movement. BOB

2nd Cowie`s CH Sunlea Cast a Spell Over Megipugi JW. 7-year-old Short cobby masculine boy with a super head. Large eyes, dark pigment lovely head work, wide jaw. Nice reach of neck, shoulder well laid back, level top line and high set tail. Nicely angulated at both ends and still so sound on the move.
