Retriever (Labrador)

PUPPY (4 Entries) Abs: 2

1 Baron’s Landebec Villanelle – A well presented 10 month yellow bitch with a feminine head and deep brown eyes creating the classic kind expression. Excellent ear size and set. Correct front and rear angulation creates a clean and balanced outline. Angulations proven by an accurate front and rear movement, maintaining a strong, level topline with splendid tail carriage. Good double coat continuing through to the tip of her tail.

2 Percival’s Fourjays Hold Up a Light – A lovely 6 month black bitch, a real baby with feminine head, dark eye and pigmentation with correct ear size and set, creating an engaging and happy expression. Good angulation throughout with good width and depth of chest. Movement was not as easy to assess as 1, but I was still able to see a slightly more accurate action at the rear than in front. However, I would expect that to tighten with maturity. Good coat throughout.

JUNIOR (4 Entries) Abs: 3

1 Baron’s Landebec Ventura – Another well presented 10 month yellow dog. He has a masculine head with an eager and kind expression, correct pigmentation throughout and perfect ear size and set. Excellent neck length and well laid back shoulders. Barrel chest and short coupling, along with proper angulation fore and aft, present a very clean and balanced outline. A dog from a neighbouring ring lunging at this boy when he was moving also tested his temperament. He didn’t miss a step and covered the ground well and with lots of enthusiasm. A level tail carriage finished off the picture, which included a dense, double coat from nose to classic otter tail. BOB BP

LIMIT (4 Entries) Abs: 3

1 Disley’s Allindax Masterpiece – A lovely yellow bitch with a gentle and kind expression. Correct pigmentation throughout. Blended eye colour with correct ear placement and skull proportions. Carrying a little too much weight today affected her overall balance and outline. Front and rear angulations are accurate with a well developed and pleasing width of thigh. Her movement was good, covering the ground with strength, but her weight impacted her drive and flow. Good coat throughout and correct tail carriage.
