Well done to the hard working Committee for organising such a well run show despite the challenges that beset them. I must express a huge thanks and well done to my Steward Clare Hill who single handedly kept everything running so smoothly in our ring.
Cocker Spaniel
Puppy (2, 1abs)
1st Walker, Glowhill Blue Sahara. Promising blue roan who is nicely put together but doesn't always show herself off, she has a feminine head with good length and depth to her muzzle and a cheeky, well shaped eye. On the move she showed lots of character covering the ground well, BP
Junior (3, 2abs)
1st Meaker, Gilcar Midnight Sky at Meakwood. Blue roan with the right amount of bone and size. Good length of muzzle and dark well shaped eye with a gentle expression, firm through the neck and shoulder with good rib and a broad rump. She did tend to try and race around the ring which looked ok in profile but a little untidy coming towards me.
Graduate (1)
1st Salmon, Crimcar Blu Diamond blue roan, very pretty little bitch just loved her head and expression, bright eye well-shaped lovely back skull and low set ear, clean through the neck and shoulder with depth of rib and well placed elbows. Pleasing bone and lovely tight feet short and cobby in the body with well-muscled thighs which gave lovely drive from the rear she flew around the ring with style and elegance BOB.
Post Graduate (1)
1st Newstead, Alisma Annabelle. Cobby female with quite a strong head but dark eye, square muzzle and low set ears. She has a correct length of back and depth of body, a little steep in upper arm so not quite the lay back of shoulder I was looking for. Unfortunately she was carrying a little too much weight which did affect her on the move
Open Dog (2, 1abs)
1st Salmon, Crimcar Indigo Eclipse ShCEx .A very excited young man who was quite full of himself today, he has a balanced masculine head with a dark eye and good length of muzzle. Clean through the neck and shoulders with a pleasing amount of brisket and spring of rib under a strong top line. His broad will angulated rear was well muscled and gave good drive and ground covering action. RBOB
Open Bitch (2)
1st Miller, Eddeswarren Moonlight. Very pretty golden with a melting expression and soft, well shaped eye. She has a good length of neck which flows smoothly into a laid back shoulder. I liked her size and bone and strength of outline which showed standing and moving.
2nd Small Albertean Minerva JW. Pretty little blue roan who is well made throughout, I just felt today the winner was that bit more steady on the move but she showed a strong profile action.
American Cocker Spaniel
Post Graduate (1)
1st Sheppard & Bryant, Nasailleen Campinuf for Shadowview. What a cracking puppy, he has excellent bone and substance and attitude by the bucket load. Handsome head with a plush muzzle and strong scissor bite, bright expressive eye and nicely domed skull. His sloping topline was firm with lovely angulation which he showed off so well once he stopped arguing with his handler and settled to the job in hand BP & BOB
Curly Coated Retriever
Graduate (5, 3abs)
1st Jack, Maycourt I’m Still Standing. 11 month liver dog of the size and substance I was expecting, he has a promising head with those oblique set eyes that are such an important breed feature. Lovely construction throughout with plenty of forechest and spring of rib under a crisp, tightly curled jacket. Well boned with a round foot and a broad rear which he put to good use on the move. BP RBOB
2nd Edworthy, Brightmeadow Man of Steel. Taller liver dog with a proper wedge shaped head and correct eye. Strong in neck with a firm topline and plenty of rib. Not as steady on the move as my winner today.
Open (7, 2abs)
1st Davies & Bradstock, Maycourt Kashmir con Redanimo Such a smart looking dog with great static balance, he is just the right size and substance with strong bone and neat round feet. Masculine head with a well set eye and clean jaw and neck. He flows from tip to tail with a firm topline and deep chest and strong coupling. His well muscled quarters gave plenty of drive showing the strongest movement here today and earned him BOB
2nd Edworthy, Maycourt Heartbreaker ShCEx Stronger headed dog with an oblique eye and broad skull, he is really well built with solid muscle, balanced angulation and good bone. Showed a pleasing profile action but a little untidy coming towards me.
3rd Courtier Maycourt Take Me To The Top JW
Bracco Italiano
Graduate (2, 1abs)
1st Pearne, Woodlandblue Fernando. 2 year old chestnut dog with a powerful head piece, big nostrils, good length and depth of foreface and a bright eye. He is strong in neck with good depth of rib, just a shade shorter in upperarm than my ideal. He excels in bone and substance, short in loin with a powerful rear that showed lots of drive when moving. RBOB
Open (2)
1st Critchley, SHCH Braccorions Never Say Never JW. Eye catching fully mature bitch with a classic outline. She has such a noble head, long and narrow with the divergent panes so desired in the breed. Her clean neck flows into an excellent lay of shoulder with a great front assembly and plenty of forechest. She is square in body with a lovely spring of rib and shapely stifles. On the move she was just a joy to watch with great extension and true ground covering action. BOB
2nd Critchley, Bracciano Now or Never JW. A younger bitch who lacks the maturity and finish of my winner but shows promise of things to come.
She has a correct, feminine head with a pronounced occiput and divergent planes. Another one who is well made throughout and presenting the distinctive outline of the breed. When it came to moving she was balanced and true just not the power and drive of my winner.
German Wirehaired Pointer
Open (2)
1st Beanalrem Gwyndu. Upstanding black dog with a harsh coat, of good size and correct substance. He has a masculine head which is nicely balanced with a hazel eye and majestic beard and brows. His firm neck flows into a well placed shoulder with good length of upperarm. He presented a striking outline with a strong topline and broad muscular rear which was put to good use on the move. BOB
2nd Matravers Cherokee. Smaller framed liver with a bright eye and good width to his skull but not quite the strength of underjaw as the winner. Balanced in angulation he moved out well but not covering the ground quite as well as 1st. RBOB
Italian Spinoni
Post Graduate (3, 1abs)
1st Mortimer, Scodinzolare Photoulla. Not the biggest of bitches but she was all in proportion. She has a feminine head with a bright eye and width to her skull. Her firm neck led to well set shoulders but not quite the length of upperarm and forechest I was looking for, deep ribs with enough back rib, the handler needs to watch as she does tend to level her topline. She was steady on the move which earned her the class and RBOB
2nd Anstis, Affilato Play With Fire. I loved the look of this boy, he was so typy with a fabulous headpiece and great bone and substance. He has a true outline with depth of chest and broad rump. I was surprised to hear he was only 6 months until I asked him to move, that’s when he bounced and pinged around the ring having a great time but not giving me any chance of seeing any movement. I’m glad his handler allowed him to be the baby he was and I’m sure he will be a force to be reckoned with in the near future. BP
Open (3, 1abs)
1st Moore, Scodinzolare Picil. Mature feminine bitch of the correct make and shape, she has a melting expression with a soft eye and good width of skull. She is well proportioned and balanced throughout with plenty of forechest, lovely bone and feet and well sprung rib. Her broad rump was well muscled which she used to advantage on the move. BOB
2nd Mortimer, Scodinzolare Philomen. A slightly more substantial bitch but very similar in a lot of ways to 1st, I was not surprised to see from the catalogue that they are sisters. She is well made throughout with a balanced feminine head and firm neck and shoulder, she has the body and rib I was looking for but her feet were a touch flatter and she was not quite in as good muscle tone as my winner.
Pointer
Junior (2)
1st Matthews, Sonham Just The Ticket (AI). Striking L/W dog with a lovely clean outline and a classic, masculine head with a bright eye and thin ear leathers. He is so well balanced with just the right amount of depth and length of rib and plenty of muscle on his shapely rear. On the move he covered the ground well, just lifting his front legs a little higher than my ideal but clean and true in all directions. RBOB
2nd Osman, Fleurfield Benjamin Button with Marissolo. 9 month dog still very much a baby but showing promise. He has a balanced head with that slight concave look to the foreface and bright eye. His neck flowed into his well set shoulders, just needs time to develop his depth and forechest which is to be expected at this young age. Good bone and tight feet which he put to use on the move covering the ground with a lashing tail action. BP
Post Graduate (1)
1st Coombes, Tenshilling Mack The Knife. Strong, masculine head on this well built orange male, he has a good length of muzzle and a bright eye with good width to his skull. 1st Jefferies, Rivertone Athena over Silbermeer 9 month bitch of a lovely silver grey. She is very feminine with a pretty head, moderate stop and good length of skull. Once she settled she moved out cleanly covering plenty of ground. BP

1st Jefferies, Rivertone Aurora over Silbermeer. Medium sized bitch of good colour with a classic, feminine head and well shaped eye. Correct length of neck that flows smoothly into a strong front assembly with a good return of upperarm and the correct amount of forechest. Her well ribbed back sat under a strong topline and her moderately angled rear was well muscled enabling her to really cover the ground. BOB
2nd Thwaites & Woodward-Thwaites, Sireva Rambler (AI) Mature upstanding male with a strong outline. He has a noble head with a pleasing expression. His powerful neck leads to a well developed front with plenty of bone and forechest, Firm in topline with depth of chest and plenty of backrib. Well muscled thighs gave lots of power but he struggled to get into his stride, I would love to see him moving in a large open ring. RBOB
3rd Reakes, Thrihyrne Love Letters A well made long haired bitch who completed a trio of quality dogs.
Special Veteran Bitch (7-9 years) (19, 8abs)
1st Mills, Trendlewood Day Dreaming. Labrador bitch, pale yellow but with beautiful dark pigmentation and a classic head with a melting expression. 3rd Jeffery, Labrador
AV Special Working Gundog (3, 1abs)
Two fabulous representatives of their breeds
1st Clunie, Warrentor Nohkalikai JW This beautiful Golden Retriever was a joy to judge, she is so well made with the most beautiful head and expression, she floated around the ring on a loose lead and I got the impression she really didn’t need her handler as she showed herself off perfectly.
2nd Bament, Pixiesrock Maestro Cadenza Well made Chesapeake Bay Retriever in hard condition, of good breed type with strong true movement, unlucky to met the Goldie today.
AV Good Citizen Scheme (19, 8 abs)
1st Morgan, Benoveor Endless Love at Rubydown. WSS full of breed type with a classic head and well shaped hazel eye. She had to put her best foot forward to win this well filled class and she certainly did.
2nd Kibby, Trimere Taylor Maid at Pinhays JW ShCEx Osw. Beautiful ESS bitch put down to perfection just not quite the sparkle on the move as 1st today.
3rd Perkins, Maycourt Miss Sweetness at Tengore

This class was a joy and privilege, thank you to both exhibitors for bringing your top class dogs for me to judge.

He is quality through and through with a lovely make and shape and strong groundcovering action on the move.
2nd Clunie, CH Warrentor Bold as Brass JW SGWC WGC Striking Golden Retriever male full of bounce and animation. He is another dog of great quality, beautifully made and presented in hard condition. His enthusiastic character showed in his lively movement.
