Tayside Lochee & District Canine Club

Breed: Terrier Classes and Group

Thank you to the committee for the appointment and to the competitors for their entries. Unfortunately the floor of the hall wasn’t ideal for moving the dogs to their best advantage.

Fox terrier (smooth) Open, a difficult class as both charges took some time to settle, particularly on the move. I’m sure these two will swap places.

1st Rougvie’s Thunderclap Macfadden to Turflindie. I preferred the overall shape of this one and felt she was more settled on the move. Well placed shoulders, firm topline which is completed with a correctly set tail

2nd Rougvie’s Thunderclap Macauley to Turflindie. Litter sister to 1, many of the same attributes. Nice feminine head with a good ear set and dark eye. Keen expression.

Fox Terrier (wire) Open

1st Haigh’s Stagwire Sapphire Sophie 1st Av Terrier Puppy. 10 month old, well developed head with nice dark eyes. Earset could be better to complete the image. Clean neck into well placed shoulders, good topline which she carried well on the move. Strong hindquarters with good angulation. Presented well. Group 4.

Staffordshire Bull Terrier Open

1st Gray’s Aberstaff Merry of Soul, 2 year old bitch, broad skull with a well developed stop. Muscular neck into well laid shoulders. Level topline with well sprung ribs. Demonstrated good reach and drive on the move. Group 3.

Lakeland Terrier Open

1st Rougvie’s Nyamindi Spring Song. Lovely 4 year old Bitch, handled well. Presented well and has a nice shape. Good head with well placed ears and keen expression. Good topline and tailset.

Airedale Terrier Open

1st Bain’s Muliebrity Touch of Gold. A 14month bitch, nice feminine head, good dark eye and correct earset, slightly heavier ears than 2. Well ribbed and held her firm topline on the move. Today, I preferred her overall shape to 2, and felt she moved with more drive from her hindquarters. These places will change in the future. Group 1.

2nd Graham’s Shadlian Heavens Dream at Thistleaire JW ShCEX OSW, a lovely bitch who I last judged as a puppy, and she has matured into a very nice example of the breed. She continues to have a good front, her head is feminine with a good mouth and powerful jaws. Well placed ears. Lovely presentation.

AVNSC Terrier Post Graduate

1st Burnside’s Rickarton Belle Starr (Welsh terrier) 2nd AvNSC open. 7 year old bitch who today was a little reserved on the table and subsequently for her pattern work, which was a shame. Good dark eyes, nice head, would prefer for her to carry her ears a little better. Correct front and well muscled hind end. Presented well.

AVNSC Terrier Open

1st Macgregor’s Kirktonhill A Touch of Snow SHcex Best AVNSC. Another who I have judged previously who has matured nicely. 4 year old bitch, nice head, with lovely expression. Nice front, clean neck, with a good topline that she maintains on the move. Well muscled and presented in good coat. Group 2.

AV Terrier Puppy

1st Haigh’s Stagwire Sapphire Sophie
