I was more than happy to accept the societies invitation to be the replacement judge for several breeds along with the pastoral group. Thank you to the society for your hospitality and the chocolate judges gifts.

Welsh Springer Spaniels J (1,1) PG (3,2) 1 and RBOB Wellingtons Ferndel Renzo At Rovinjdal a handsome male with a masculine head, defined stop and medium dark eye, strong neck of ample length with well boned forelegs and standing on strong pasterns and neat round feet, just looking a little leggy at present but even at 2.5 yrs old he still has time to mature and balance out. Sound on the move holding his topline O (2,1) 1 and BOB Wards Glenbrows Flame For Tantaraviz a very attractive b, slightly longer in body than ideal but no compromise in topline, she has a feminine well proportioned head with expressive eyes and close fitting ears, lengthy neck into well laid shoulders and a good turn of stifle, sound and smooth on the move displaying good driving action. Very well presented and handled.

English Toy Terriers Nice entry figures for this breed, thank you J (3) 1 Pendleburys Wykewoks Autumnal Sunsetta Of Pendlethrine 15 mth b who makes a clean and shapely outline on the stack, wedge head with lovely dark eye and well set candle flame ears adding to her appealing expression, elegant neck into good shoulders with straight finely boned forelegs and neat compact feet, she still needs to develop in body a little more but I liked her overall proportions and balance and she moved out soundly around the ring 2 BPIB Marsdens Regalriver Big Bad She Wolf 7mth b with a pleasing overall shape, attractive head with dark almond eye and high set ears, she has a slight arch to her neck and finely boned forelegs down to compact feet, ample depth of chest for her age and slight rise to her topline, rather loose in front movement but going well in profile 3 Bailey and Hancocks Lasagesse Fire Woman PG (3) This class was a bit of a challenge to be honest, each exhibit had something to appreciate and I really liked the overall make and shape of the 3rd place dog but he let himself down on the move today 1 Marsdens Galvizach Royal Amethyst Of Regalriver, this b has a good wedge head shape with a flat skull and dark almond shaped eye although ears could be set higher, she has a clean elegant neck into good shoulders with depth to chest and slight tuck up, not looking her best on the stack as she stood with her back legs too far underneath her giving a rather hunched look to her topline but this did correct itself when she moved. Moved out well in profile but just a tad wide behind 2 Bailey and Hancocks Witchstone Silent Whisper this compact and balanced young b is a good size and shape with depth to chest and ideal topline and was the best mover in the class, sadly she lacks both thumb prints and pencilling which knocked her down to 2nd place today 3 Pendleburys Ettologoy Small Gods of Pendlethrine O (5,3) 1 and BOB,G1 and BIS3 Leonard’s Witchstone Nasabe Strikes Back, If I ever saw a dog whose movement fitted the standard to a tee, this young 12 month dog was it! He presents a super outline being compact and balanced, lovely wedge head with dark well placed eyes giving an alert expression and high set candle flame ears, elegant neck and tidy elbows, excellent topline which rises slightly to the loin and a nicely rounded rear, presented with a sleek and well marked coat. On the move he really does display that extended trot as described in the standard. Absolute top quality from top to toe 2 and RBOB Conway and Oakdens Spawood Hey Mickey, this young man has a very pleasing outline and a well proportioned wedge head with dark well set eye giving an alert and appealing expression, he stands true in front on fine boned forelegs and compact feet, shapely body with ample depth to chest and slight rise to topline down to low set tail, muscular hindquarters with a good turn of stifle and carrying himself well on the move with a smooth and easy action, another very nice specimen.

BEDLINGTON TERRIERS J (2) 1 and RBOB Ellis Fralex Culibre Jacquetta I thought this young lady was and absolute delight, maybe at the lower end of the height standard but so beautifully proportioned, correct head shape with narrow skull and dark eye, long strong neck allowing for good head carriage, deep in brisket with ample rise of topline and shapely well muscled hind quarters, very light on her feet as she moved around the ring and presented in a thick linty coat. Liked her very much 2 Lowes Mickleview After Midnight By Tessarion slightly longer cast than the winner but with a nice pear shaped head and dark eye,, long neck into an ample lay of shoulder! Deep chest and correct rise in topline and standing well behind on strong hocks, moved out soundly but not with the deportment of the winner. (1) 1 Harts Silverkinn Spice Girl I really liked the overall shape and balance of this 19 mth liver b, her head is long and lean with close fitting lips and scissor bite, she stands correct in front on strong forelegs and good feet with dry closed pads, neck flows into shoulders and she has good flat ribs and depth to chest, excellent topline held on the move, such a shame she wasn’t in her best coat but lots to like here (4) 1 and BOB Offers Woolytop The Phezantplukka JW 20mth liver d with great ring presence and no denying his sex, presented in good linty coat with a long well shape head and silky top knot, arched neck into good shoulders and standing with correct horseshoe front, deep through the chest with strong moderately angulated hindquarters and moving out with a good springy action 2 Porter Manning and Porters Woolytop Secret Whispa Among Wallaroo JW a shapely and well presented 5 yr b, long lean head with small eye and low set ears, pleasing neck and good shoulders and standing on straight forelegs and strong pasterns, good depth of brisket and correct topline, moved out soundly but just lacked a little animation today 3 Walters and Mitchell’s Tunman Apple Away

AVNSC PASTORAL P (5,2) Three promising youngsters here 1 and BAVNSC P, RBAVNSC, PG1 Baverstocks PMD Kalkasi The Eternal Quest. I thought this 7 mth b was just outstanding and looks strong and balanced in profile but with a hint of elegance. Presented in profuse coat and of good size and substance without being overdone, head is developing well and has feminine traits, neck is strong into a good lay of shoulder, once she settled she displayed a lovely easy gait 2 Fieldsends Catalan Starwell Here Comes Solo 7mth d with a delightful head and rather mischievous expression, moderate length of neck into well laid shoulders and visible withers with a level topline to to slightly sloping croup, went forward with confidence but not quite as together as the winner today 3 Stewart and Tates Anatolian Sunlions Zeysan I must mention this 9 mth b who was an absolute delight to judge today, such a happy girl with a sound temperament who possesses so many of the breeds requirements but today decided not to cooperate with her handler on the move. J (2,1) 1 Scaddings Terv Jaraz Fabulous Me To Ayshavinnie Rather an exuberant youngster, compact in shape with a chiselled head and neat ears, straight front and good feet, when settled she showed signs of the brisk movement required PG (2,1) 1 Davies Groen Debruix Agatha Christie an attractive and feminine 19 mth b, beautiful head and lovely dark eye with well set ears, compact with a good depth of chest and firm level topline, a little unsettled on the move and coat needs better preparation O (5,2) 1 and BAVNSC Brett’s CH Goldmali Over The Rainbow Malinois, this 8 yr b is in fantastic condition for her age, she has a beautifully chiselled head and lovely eye and uses her ears well, good length of neck, straight forelegs to strong pasterns and neat feet, compact in body with a firm topline and shapely hindquarters with well furnished tail, moves out soundly and accurately with a lovely brisk action. What a shame she didn’t stay for the group 2 Baverstocks CH Kalkasi Just Because JW PMD 4 yr d presented in profuse coat, strongly boned all through, masculine head with dark well placed eyes, strong neck into well angulated shoulders, good depth of chest and firm topline, sound and steady on the move. 3 Scaddings Groen Jaraz Day For Night To Astarinie.

IMPORT REGISTER PASTORAL P (3) 1 and BIR Puppy Cartwright and Burdetts Picardy Alto Du Clos D’Aria, a really lovely moving and quite elegant looking 7mth dog, still very raw in body but showing himself really well. Head is well proportioned with high set ears and correct bite, moderate length of neck and straight forelegs to slightly sloping pasterns and compact feet, excellent topline held on the move and going easily and effortlessly around the ring, liked him very much and I was disappointed not to see him in the puppy group later on 2 Henshaws WSS Whitehemi’s Chimaera 11 mth b with a steady temperament, attractive head with well set ears, strong neck and well laid shoulders, rib cage extends well back and she is nicely angulated in the rear with strong hocks, unfortunately she insisted in pacing n several occasions although there were glimpses of a sound gait with good rear drive 3 Pooles Mudi Regerstace Jigsaw NAF TAF PG (2) 1 and BIR Clancys WSS Hit Me OD Bijelih Angela Of Whiteshire 3.5 yr d rather heavily coated which spoilt his outline a little, however he is quite nicely made with a masculine head, high set ears and strong jaw, well laid shoulders and strongly boned forelegs but pasterns could be a bit firmer, body is well ribbed with a good croup and well set tail of good length, gaited out soundly around the ring 2 Graham’s Mudi Regerastace Firecracker At Deirris, Brown merle b and a really lovely example of the breed, although she took her time to settle she really has the most beautiful shape with a good wedge head and high set well used ears, moderate lay of shoulder and a good depth of chest and ample hind angulation, she went forward very well displaying brisk and energetic movement. I called her back in for RBOB but unfortunately she had disappeared O (1) 1 and RBIR Strange’s WSS White Dream Team Simply The Best, 3 yr b totally devoid of coat but showing off her shape nicely, medium sized with good height to length ratios, clean head with slight stop and close fitting lips, muscular neck to well sloped shoulders, good rib cage and well angulated in the rear, gaited out soundly with good drive, lots to like but she could fill out a little more.

AV Pastoral Veteran (19, 7) What a cracking class this was and a real pleasure to judge 1 and BV, BVIS4 Taylor’s Cardigan Corgi CH Handskies Just A Gigolo At Tamlin VW (imp Fin) 8 yr d, regardless of this dogs age, he is a super example of the breed, he has a beautiful foxy head with large erect ears and dark eye giving a kind expression, excellent front with short well boned forelegs, strong in body with a good spring of rib and firm level topline to lovely fox brush tail, on the move he is so sound and true displaying good front reach and plenty of drive, I thought he was just fabulous 2 Fishers GSD LUX/HR/ROM/CH/Int CH//ROM GCH/CH SCH Kintaro Lady Sansa Of Sannah a strongly made 7 yr b and another one whose movement and condition belies her age, good lay of shoulder and length of upper arm and strong well angulated quarters allowing her to gait out freely and easily with good ground coverage, well presented and handled. I understand she also won the veteran stake today too, congratulations ! 3 Malinois Goldmali Over The Rainbow.

PASTORAL GROUP 1 and BIS Cowleys Puli CH Kashbeluli There We Are Then JW SHCEX OSW THIS 3.5 yr old dog was presented in fabulous corded coat and muscled condition, head is fine and well proportioned with dark eye and well shaped ears held close, good lay of shoulder and neat elbows with well angulated hindquarters, he moves out correctly for the breed with short strides and total accuracy. Absolutely thrilled to hear he took the top spot later in the day, congratulations ! 2 Oliver’s Border Collie CH Tambuzi Girlz On Fire, I thought this 5 year b was looking on top form today and she really pushed hard for top spot, attractive head with lovely dark eye and well set ears used to enhance her expression, she stands true in front on straight forelegs and neat oval feet, mature in body with well sprung ribs and a firm topline to muscular loin, on the move she goes easily and fluidly with minimum effort, presented in beautiful coat and condition 3 Inghams GSD Paluka Bali JW 2 yr b with nothing overdone and looking balanced and clean in profile although possibly a tad steep in croup, she stands true in front and is well angulated in the rear with muscular thighs and strong hocks, gaited out well in profile and with true action coming and going, well handled to get the best from her 4 Fieldsends Briard cH Honey I’m Home Moravia Campanella At Starwell JW (imp CZE) a beautifully presented fawn d of 2.5 yrs old carrying an impressive coat of the correct texture. Lovely head and eye and a good length of neck flowing into well laid shoulders, excellent topline and well angulated quarters, carries himself nicely on the move and extending well in front, a lovely dog.

PASTORAL PUPPY GROUP This was a very strong group of puppies 1 PMD Kalkasi The Eternal Quest 2 Cameron and Woods Vallhund Bowkol Kynligr Odyssee 11 d so sturdy and sound, I loved his blunt wedge head, dark eye and almost inquisitive expression, he stands with a front that is correct for the breed, topline is strong and level and he is well angulated in the rear, moved out freely and easily 3 Williams R/Collie Mejola Endeavour 8 mth s/w d with an impressive coat, good head with oblique eye giving a sweet expression and enhanced by well used ears, straight front and neat feet, body displays good height to length ratios with topline rising slightly over the loin and a god bend of stifle, he just needs to tighten up in the rear but shows much promise 4 Wensleys Smooth Collie Blamorder Starstruck By Versatilis 10mth sable b, another lovely youngster to come from this kennel, feminine in outlook with a blunt wedg, well set ears and an intelligent expression coming from her well shaped eye, good length of neck and standing true in front with ample angulation at the shoulder, needs to firm a little in topline but she is shapely in the rear and moves out soundly with good drive.
