Thank you to the breed club for inviting me to judge the special stakes classes at their open shows. Sadly lots of absentees as it was quite late in day but I still had a very enjoyable time.

Khatira Puppy Stakes (3,2) 1James Cloudside Camomile At Simkin 6mth red b with a feminine head of good proportions just needing to mature on and she has a lovely dark eye, she has a good length of neck to ample lay of shoulder and stands fairly true in front on well furnished feet, she is a little weak in topline but is well angulated in the rear, on the move she needs to coordinate herself and come together a little more but everything is there for her to be able to mature on nicely.

Shadowfax Open Clipped Off Stakes (2,1) Gizewskas CH Saxonmill Zan Zan Wow! even without a coat this 9 yr girl is so beautiful, interesting to see the complete skeleton and how well she is put together, she has a beautiful lean head and lovely dark eye, excellent neck of good length into well placed shoulders, moderate length of body with level topline and well angulated quarters and nicely ringed tail carried correctly on the move, sound and easy with a pleasing spring in her stride. I would never have guessed her age!

Jeff Bunney Memorial Open Dog Stakes (3,2) 1 Lancashire and O’Donnells Ch Drishauns Baby’s In Black JW, so lovely to get my hands on this stunning black and tan male again. He impressed me very much earlier in the year when he won a quality hound group under me and then went on to take BIS. Such a dignified and proud boy who looks impressive both stacked and on the move, foreface is long with strong jaw and dark well set eyes, body is of medium length with a level topline to short loin and he was presented in first class coat and muscled condition. On the move he is smooth and easy seeming to almost float above the ground. I said when I first judged him that I couldn’t take my eyes off him and today was exactly the same.

Mark Cocozza Memorial Open Bitch Stakes (2) 1 Humphreys Ayoubkhan Porcelain Dove a 4 yr cream b who I thought was rather striking to look at, I really liked the contrasting mask and her lovely eye shape, she has a beautiful neck and front with a good depth of chest, ample spring of rib and a firm topline with visible pin bones, she is well angulated in the rear and covered the ground really well with some style and a well carried ringed tail 2 Humphreys Joneca Eternal Flame 8 yr gold b, she has a feminine well proportioned head with minimal stop and strong muzzle, long neck and a well made front with straight forelegs and good sized feet, ample spring of rib and a level topline, very sound for her age and moving with a spring in her stride but I just though the winner had a little bit more front extension which gave her the edge.

Gothika Veteran Stakes (4,3) 1 Winters Ch Pashtari Lord Tennyson Tokando JW a 9 yr black in super condition all through, I liked his outline and his proud carriage, he has a good length of neck and excellent shoulders which were long and muscular, forelegs are well boned to good sized feet and he has depth to his chest and strong well angulated quarters, goes forward easily carrying himself with some elegance. Presented in good coat of the correct texture. A really lovely veteran.
