Limited Show – Sunday 12th January, 2025

I would like to thank the Isle of Man Canine Society for giving me the honour of judging at this really well run lovely show. A special big thank you to the Committee, your hospitality was second to non. My steward was extremely efficient and kept the running of the ring flowing very smoothly. The biggest thank you is to the exhibitors who entered under me and for allowing me to go over their dogs. I thoroughly enjoyed the day. I had some super classes the quality of dogs giving me a big challenge with some tough decisions.

Utility

Class 1 - Schipperke – Open - No Entries

Class 2 – AVNSC Utility Puppy - No Entries

Class 3 – AVNSC – Junior - (1 )

1. Mrs. B. Jolly – POPPYKINS SOLID GOLD FOR DOOLISH – Chow Chow (D) - 17 month old youngster caught my eye when he entered the ring. Lovely red shaded boy. Broad flat skull, small thick ears, and dark oval shaped eyes. Strong jaw with perfect scissor bite. Good reach of neck leading to well set shoulders. Good broad and deep chest, back short, level and strong, tail carried well over his back. Covered the ground with an easy free movement. Worked well with his handler, delighted to award him Best In Show.

Class 4 – AVNSC Utility Post Graduate (2)

1. Mrs. B Quayle – CUBALIBRE CIRIUS CELESTE – Dalmatian (D) - 19 months old. Good spotting, lovely head with nice dark eyes and scissor bite. Well set ear placement. Arched neck leading to good shoulder placement. Nice deep chest, level top line, good front and rear angulation. Moved soundly.

2. Mrs T Reid –RISEPARK SOPRANO – Min Schnauzer (B) - 2 years old. Well balanced and in super condition. Good head, dark eyes, good length of neck leading to well laid shoulders. Nicely angled front and rear, moved well.

Class 5 – AVNSC – Utility Limit – No Entries

1. Mrs. B. Jolly – SHIRA VICTORY ZAZZING IT UP FOR DOOLISH (Imp Hun) Shar Pei (B) – 7 years old. A very nice feminine lady. Nice head with moderate wrinkle on forehead and cheeks. Dark almond shaped eyes, ears set well forward. Well laid back shoulders, good bone, overall nicely balanced. Moved well.

2. Mrs. B. Quayle – CUBALIBRE ON ONE – Dalmatian (B) – 4 year old. Good spotting. Nice head with good dark eyes. Well balanced, good angulation, held her topline. Not the enthusiasm as one on the move.

Class 7 – AVNSC Utility Veteran (1)

1. Mrs B. Quayle – CHIZZMIC CARRY ONWITH CUBALIBRE JW – Dalmatian (B) – 8 year old. Nice head, dark eyes, good ear placement , good length of neck leading to well laid back shoulders. Deep chest with plenty of heart room. Good front and rear angulation,. Moved well.

1. Mrs S. Cowley-Hardy – GABMADDI PATTI CAKE – CKCS (B) – 9 months old. Feminine domed head, lovely dark eyes, low set ears, gentle expression. Sound youngster well angulated which showed on the move. Never stopped wagging her tail.

Mrs. A. Quayle – CARRY MOOAR -CKCS (D) – 14 months old. Nicely rounded skull with low set ears, dark eyes. Good body and rib cage, good quarters, level toppling, nice tail set. Overall moved well enjoying himself.

Class 11 – AVNSC Toy Veteran (1)

1. Mrs. D Ballard – KISS FOR BAJALOON CORSAIREY CASCH (Imp) Griffon Bruxellois (D) – 11 years of age. Nice head, dark eyes, lovely domed head. Plenty of body and good overall balance. Moved really well.

Strong jaw with scissor bite. Strong length of neck into well placed shoulders . Deep chest with plenty of heart room. Good front and rear angulation. Level topline held when moving. In superb well muscled condition. Moved with drive and ease.

2. Mrs. M. Readshaw – ORCHIDSTAR ABOUT TIME TWO – GSP – (D) - 3 years old. Lovely head, eye colour and ears set nicely. Good scissor bite. Strong neck , well laid back shoulders, good deep well sprung chest . Good angulation front and rear. Plenty of muscle. Moved well.

2. Mr. M & Mrs J. Shepherd – KIMMAX KLEAN SWEEP – German W/H Pointer (B) – 7 years of age – Lovely head in correct portions with dark eyes, ears well set. Good angulation front and rear. Moved well.

Lovely expression and darkest of eyes in a well balanced head. Nice shaped well set ears. Good depth of chest and bone. Balanced angulation with good tail set. Lovely shape when he finally stood still. Moved with enthusiasm. Delighted to award BPIS

1. Mrs. M. King & Mrs. C. Butler – WICANI SONGS OF FREEDOM - Rough Collie (B) – 2 years old. A lovely clean head with a butter wouldn’t melt expression and dark almond shaped eyes. Ears not too close but standing erect. Correct scissor bite. Shoulders well angulated, back firm leading to well muscled hindquarters. Long tail completed the outline. Lovely conformation. Moved enthusiastically.

Liked his head, dark almond eyes, strong jaw with scissor bite and good ear carriage. Strong arch of neck leading to correct shoulder and upper arm. Good depth of chest and spring of rib. Firm loin, level topline and tail well set. Has strong hindquarters which propelled him around the ring with such ease. In superb condition. RBIS

1. Miss Kayla Honey (age 14) - Another very competent handler, in tune with her dog and when asked to move the dog again, took the relevant action to correct. Wish you well for the future.

2. Miss Tia Davies (age 12) - A very attentive handler to her dog. Handled very well, just needs a bit more practice and will see her shine in the future.
