DOGS
Class 1 – Veteran Dog
1st LOCKSHEATH BEACH COMBER
Eight years old. Touch short in neck with a little upright in shoulder. Compactly built, short-coupled with an excellent topline and strong, well-constructed rear quarters. Moves very well behind, though could make a little more use of his front. Very good coming and going, carries himself with pride and presence.
Class 2 – Minor Puppy Dog
No entries.
Class 3 – Puppy Dog
1st GLENQUIN HURRICANE BRYERDALE
Raw but promising youngster. Soundly constructed with excellent angulation fore and aft. Super forechest, a little long in body but balanced overall. Level back, excellent rear with well let-down hocks. Well-marked with pleasing outline. Moves freely and uses himself well for his age.
Class 4 – Junior Dog
1st AMSCOT ANGELS AND DEMONS
A super young dog of excellent type and overall balance. Slightly narrow in front at present and a little slack in pasterns, head still developing. Lovely shape, presented in first-class condition. Movement very true and free-flowing. Overall presentation excellent. A youngster with great promise and style – I liked him a lot.
2nd LAINNIREACH STAR GAZER JW
Another quality youngster, a touch longer in body than first. Beautifully presented with rich tan markings. Lovely head and expression, very good rear angulation and moves with purpose. Uses himself well and shows off his outline to advantage.
3rd KEWSTOKE OCEAN COMMANDER AT GLENDUDMOOR
Class 5 – Yearling Dog )
1st AMSCOT ANGELS AND DEMONS
2nd CAFOTALIENA HEART OF A HERO JW
21 months, pleasing in type though a little fine throughout. Longer in body and slightly short on leg. Excellent coat and presentation. Not quite the ring confidence or composure of the winner, but a good, easy mover if a touch untidy fore and aft.
3rd LAINNIREACH STAR GAZER JW
Class 6 – Novice Dog
1st LUDSTAR PLACIDO
Tall, rangy youngster with plenty of bone. Excellent head with wonderful eye and expression. Good overall proportions though still needs to strengthen in topline and coordination.
Class 7 – Graduate Dog
1st AMSCOT ANGELS AND DEMONS
2nd CAFOTALIENA HEART OF A HERO JW
Class 8 – Post Graduate Dog
Class 9 – Limit Dog
1st LIRIC JUST THE TICKET
A well-made, masculine dog of excellent type. Slightly on the long side but well-balanced. Very good front construction with excellent bone and feet. Strong, well-developed rear and deep body with good forechest. Superb coat condition. Head a touch strong for my taste but overall sound and impressive. Felt like he wasn’t enjoying his day out.
2nd GAILIECH NGALYOD
Good for type, level in topline. Lacks a little in front assembly and forechest compared to first but has a better attitude and easy movement. Well-sprung ribs, shorter foreface with a kind, expressive eye.
Class 10 – Open Dog
Two super dogs headed this class. Very little between them. Preferred the cleaner front and truer movement coming and going of the winner, while the second scored nicely in body and style. Overall, the first was shorter coupled and closer to my ideal type. Two lovely lads and both worthy title holders.
1st SH CH BRYERDALE QUANTAS (AI) – Best Dog & Reserve Best in Show
2nd SH CH HERNWOOD THE BOTANIST JW ShCEx OSW – Reserve Best Dog
3rd LUDSTAR MACCABEE AT GLENQUIN (IMP ITA)
BITCHES
Class 11 – Veteran Bitch
1st SH CH CAIRACAILIE NIGHT OF LOVE WITH ORDETT JW
Lovely mature lady of beautiful type. Showing her age a little in topline and slightly short on leg but moves with enthusiasm and purpose. Excellent coat, a little on the heavy side today. Delightful head and soft, melting expression. I liked her.
2nd DT CH LOCKSHEATH PRINCESS TIANA JW
Not quite the head or shoulder placement of the winner but presents a lovely outline with an excellent topline and adequate rear. Super coat, good bone and feet, shorter in back. Very kind expression.
Class 12 – Minor Puppy Bitch (2 entries, both absent)
No entries present.
Class 13 – Puppy Bitch
1st GLENQUIN PHANTOM
Very nice puppy of correct proportions. Everything generally where it should be. Croup a little steep and head planes could improve with maturity. Excellent bone and feet, sound mover with decent rear construction. Shown in excellent coat and condition.
Class 14 – Junior Bitch
1st KEWSTOKE SEA QUEEN ZENA
A truly typey young bitch with beautiful head and expression. Excellent topline, short-coupled with a super rear. Lovely rich tan, very good front and bone, coat in superb order. Just needs to gain a little confidence to complete the picture. Moves soundly and freely.
2nd CARADILIS LON DUBH
Sound, honest bitch, though tan markings could be clearer. Level back, croup falls slightly away. Adequate rear, lovely coat and feathering. Feet could be tighter.
3rd KILNRAE BACK TO THE FUTURE JW
Class 15 – Yearling Bitch
1st FLAXHEATH COVER GIRL AT GLENMAURANGI JW
Very nice girl, balanced and feminine. Soundly made with a good front and just enough rear angulation. Excellent topline though a shade long in body. Beautiful on the move, showing superb carriage and composure.
Class 16 – Novice Bitch
1st DJ BEE BLACK IVY (IMP POL)
Sound and honest bitch who needs time to strengthen and mature. Drops her topline slightly when stacked. Excellent side gait, though untidy behind. Pretty head with lovely expression. Feet rather flat at present.
Class 17 – Graduate Bitch
1st FLAXHEATH CENTREFOLD
Full of quality, a spirited girl but very well put together. Excellent conformation and shape, hard to fault structurally. Slightly light in eye but overall a lovely bitch with correct balance and plenty of type.
2nd RONALDSBILL MAGIC STARS OF NIANNSETER
Not quite the front or head of the winner and lacks some forechest. Level back and well-balanced, with good bone and lovely tan. Moved soundly.
Class 18 – Post Graduate Bitch
1st DWENSANTINIS DORA OF ARTIIYO
Attractive bitch with a nice outline. Short-backed with an excellent topline, shown to advantage. Front could be stronger but very good rear and coat condition. Beautiful head and expression.
2nd LOCKSHEATH FALLEN ACORN
Neck into shoulder not as smooth as winner. Decent topline and rear, good bone and kind expression. Not quite the head of the first. Excellent lip and general type.
Class 19 – Limit Bitch
Two outstanding bitches headed this class, very little to choose between them. Both full of type, in excellent condition and beautifully handled. Marginally preferred the head and front of the winner, who also excelled on the go-around. Two top-drawer bitches certain to title.
1st AMSCOT AIR OF SUCCESS AT BOYERS – Best Bitch & Best in Show
2nd AMSCOT AIR BORN VIA KEWSTOKE – Reserve Best Bitch
3rd LAURELHACH RENAISSANCE JW
