Ashfield (Notts) Canine Society

Chinese Crested.

I would like to thank the Committee for asking me judge at their show. The hospitality was excellent. Also thanks to the exhibitors for supporting my first appointment in this breed. I have been interested in the breed for a few years now, have handled one I co-own and have passed the BAD/MCE and undergone mentoring.  Unfortunately the weather conditions weren't great for showing this breed as extremely windy and chilly, but I made allowances for this. A quality entry with tight decisions.

Puppy (2, 1a).1st and BPIB. Bodens Pufflepaws somnis de reis Gemadar, promising hairless lad of 7 months old. Well balanced with pleasing outline. Liked his head, correct proportions, nice dark eye, good erect ears, cheeks had chiselling and lips are tight. Chest developing well for age, good length of neck, well rounded rear with good tailset, skin was smooth, carries himself well on the move.

Junior (3) 1st Parkers Doonbeg Mahogany magic at Khatira, Elegant and graceful lad, elegant head with chiselling and dark eye, correct ears and nice tight lips, presents a picture of balance, lean neck leading to well laid shoulders and good depth of chest, well rounded rear and shown in good muscle tone and condition. Great skin. In the challenge didn’t quite have the positivity on the move as the open girls but I predict a bright future for this lad. 2nd Peacocks Pufflepaws yes sir can boogi with Iapea, handsome p/puff lad in lovely coat and condition, correct size. Also well balanced, has elegant head, dark eye, tight lips and erect ears, alert expression, good through body and shown in lovely correct coat and condition. Little excitable on the move today. Unlucky to meet 1. 3rd Bodens Ravanas miracle avokaduh for Gemadar imp cze.

Post grad (4,1a) 1st Vidlers Epiphany call of the knight, fine boned hairless lad, who scored on overall balance and outline, head of good proportions but prefer a little softer expression, tight lips, correct ears, has good depth of chest, tight elbows, good through rear, typical hare feet, moved out well, has lovely smooth skin. 2nd Parkers Riveralca stenness at Khatira JW, pushed 1 hard, handsome balanced head, gentle expression, large ears, clean cheeks. Has good body but just slightly preferred chest of 1st, Presented in lovely coat with correct veil, moved well showing drive from his hocks and holds level topline. 3rd Simms Chundercrest my love Romeo for Maishua, completed a nice trio.

Open, (7, 2a) Excellent class, full of quality. 1st and BOB, Parkers Riveralca tulla at Khatira JW, admired this pretty young lady earlier this year and was pleased to get the chance to judge her. P/puff in lovely coat and condition, feminine elegant head of correct proportions, melting expression, lovely ears, good length of neck leading to well placed shoulders and good front. Moved well holding topline and driving from rear. Found out later she has her title, which doesn’t surprise me. 2nd and Res BOB Dowsetts Ch Doonbeg reach for the sky at Tteswood JW VW, Wow, what fabulous condition this girl is in for 11 years. Feminine balanced head with melting eye and expression, lovely body to go over, tight elbows and good chest and rib. Pleasing outline, moved well showing reach and drive. Correct veil coat in lovely condition, so close up to 1 but 1 just had the edge on show attitude today. 3rd Farquharsons Shansal man of steel JW, another quality dog.
