JUNIOR HANDLING (6-11 Years) (2)

1st = Elena Stuart handling a beagle. This young lady listened very carefully to my instructions and presented her dog very well indeed. An excellent picture with a bright future.

2nd = Robert Stuart handling a Hamiltonstovare. This young man really had his work cut out with this young dog. However, he used firmness and encouragement, completed everything I asked for and presented his dog to the best of his ability.

JUNIOR HANDLING (12-16 Years) (1)

1st = Chantelle Stuart handling a beagle. Presented her dog competently and professionally, making a nice picture. Her instructions were different from the previous class but she got the best of her charge.

1st & Best AVNSC Terrier Puppy & BPIS = Carrs Almostaffs Queen Priscilla (SBT)

11 months old, strong but feminine red puppy. Excellent head with dark eye. Smooth lines from her neck through her shoulders. Compact body with well sprung ribs. Sound and well balanced. Moved powerfully and with drive.

1st & Best AVNSC Terrier = Fryers Irton Firestorm (Border Terr)

14 months old bitch. With attractive otter head of correct proportion and style. Racy elegance throughout with small tight feet and short hocks. Moved soundly on the up and back and with drive in profile.

Handsome male with broad skull and correct length of muzzle. Attractive expression. Good ribbing. Correct set on to tail. Moved well in profile.

11 months old, yellow, well grown on masculine lad, just full of himself. Good front angulation. Excellent depth and spring of rib. Well let down hocks. Moved with purpose and enthusiasm!

2nd = Bagshaws Aeofaces Sasha (Irish Setter)

11 months old racy female who needs time to fill out and to practice her presentation. Pretty, long, lean head. Fine ears. Nice feet. Good rear angulation. Well let down hocks.

AVNSC GUNDOG POST GRAD (3 - 1 Entries)

1st & Best AVNSC Gundog & BIS = Snowdons Rozebottels Mario Tronti (Imp Nld) (Lagotto Romagnolo) My find of the day! Well balanced off white male with attractive outline and correct depth of body. Good front angulation with fair return of upper arm. Rear quarters to match. He put it all together and used it on the move which was sound and with drive. One of the best movers of the day.

2nd = Nokes Trebus Tanselle at Goldpaw (HWH Vizsla)

4 year old feminine girl. Who would benefit from a little more bone and substance. Good length of neck. Correct loin. Nice feet and well let down hocks. A little loose on the move.

Shapely black boy with lovely balance. Good front with enough neck. Excellent topline. Strong rear quarters. Well let down hocks. Moved very well in profile.

2nd = Nokes Goldpaw Five To Midnight (HWH Vizsla)

Feminine girl just coming into her prime. Pleasing shoulder with fair return of upper arm. Good depth of chest. Broad well developed first thigh. Good feet. A little untidy coming and going.

1st & BVIS = Smiths Flyenpyg Snout Like It (VW) (Labrador)

Loved this almost 11 years young yellow veteran girl. Feminine head with pleasing expression. Good angulation fore and aft. Correct length through her ribbing and loin. Moved very well in profile and on the up and back. Super condition.

1st& Best AVNSC Hound Puppy = Stuarts Gentle Snip of Boskenna (Whippet)

A few days short of 8 months, this brindle boy is on the leggy side. Still needs to drop through his depth. Good bone and feet. Strong first thigh. Good length of tail. Well let down hocks. Treated kindly by his young handler.

1st = Stuarts Boskennas Wicked Witch (Beagle)

Nicely made beagle girl. Attractive head with pleasing expression. Compact through the body with reasonable spring of rib. Excellent bone and short pasterns. Well let down hocks. Nice feet. Moved well. Well handled.

2nd = Briants Play On For Sufayre (Hamiltonstovare)

Handsome, beautifully balanced almost 2 ½ year old lad. Masculine head with no trace of coarseness. Long strong neck let into well laid-back shoulder. Rear quarters to match with excellent depth of chest. Broad strong loin. Nice feet. Sadly, in this venue he was at a disadvantage. This is a dog who needs a large ring with plenty of space to get into his stride. But his quality couldn’t be overlooked.

3rd = Salkeld & Grahams Dalerafenn Folow A Dream (JW) (Whippet)

1st & Best AVNSC Hound & RES BIS = Stuarts Kellitcreed Danger Digits with Boskenna (Beagle)

Super quality girl with excellent breed type. Classic head on top of a good length of neck. Front and rear angulation in balance and with excellent bone. Moved with purpose and drive.

2nd = Briants Star Catcher from Sufayre (Hamiltonstovare)

 Feminine, well balanced head with strong underjaw. Good front angulation elbows well tucked in. Good bone and feet. Moderate rear angulation. Well let down hocks. Moved very sound and with fair reach in front.

3rd = Wilsons Nicolas Star (Whippet)

10 ½ years girl in lovely condition for her age. Pretty head. Strong neck leading into her shoulder with excellent return of upper arm. Good bone and feet. She moved soundly and with characteristic breed attitude.

2nd = Wilsons Nicolas Dream (Whippet)

9 ½ years girl, looking pretty good for her age. Fine rose ears. Straight front with good feet. Bladed bone. Excellent underline. Broad first thigh. Correct second thigh. Nice feet. Moved well coming and going.

This girl had not been show trimmed but I could still see some of her nicer points. She has a good length of neck into a clean shoulder. Straight bone. Moderate rear angulation. Broad first thigh. Tail set on high. Movement would be better with a little more control.

Pretty headed girl with correct slightly undershot mouth. Short neck well covered with mane. Moderate bone with correct harefoot. High set tail which she carried correctly on the move.

Pretty ruby girl with large dark eyes and a pleasing expression. Well balanced. Fair angulation front and rear. Good topline. Moved freely in profile and sound on the up and back.

2nd = Woods Cavohana Colours Of The Wind (CKCS)

Tri colour girl who was having an issue with an itch, so didn’t make the best picture on the move. Straight front. Moderate bone. Short coupled. Good topline. Silky coat.

1st & Best AVNSC Toy = Woods Spindlepoint Desdemona (CKCS)

This Blenheim girl was beautifully balanced, graceful and presented a lovely picture both standing and on the move. Front and rear angulation was unexaggerated. Super topline. Typical head with a Blenheim spot to finish. Well let down hocks which she used well on the move.

2nd = Chapmans Kinvaar Raindrops On Roses at Daltonian (CKCS)

This 7 ½ year old girl had a more extreme head than first and was built on a larger, heavier frame. Good spring of rib and a level topline. Moved OK. She needed some attention to her coat.
