Newark & District Canine Society

I am thankful to Newark and District Canine Society committee for their kind invitation to judge Rhodesian Ridgebacks.. My thanks also to my ring steward Alan who was very efficient in making sure everything ran smoothly.

May I also thank everyone who entered under me and took my decisions with good grace.

Class 70 Puppy (7 Entries) Abs: 1

A very strong class with some lovely puppies. A close decision between 1st and 2nd but my winner was slightly more settled on the move today.

1st Mr M & Mrs K Akers, Carlingcox Knock Em Off.

Loved this baby’s head very typical with a kind eye. All in proportion at this stage with good bone throughout. Good length of neck leading to well set on forequarters. Good infill of chest standing on good feet and pasterns. Nice topline complimented by a correct underline. Well-proportioned rear quarters. Moved out well. BPIB

2nd Mr SJ and Mrs AR Pearce, Kinyemi Song of Senengeti Sepiwi Sekayi for Msingi (Imp Dnk)

Pushed my winner today. Another youngster with good bone throughout. Good head leading to well set on forequarters. Good infill of chest and correct prosternum from side view. Stands on good feet. Going through the ‘leggy’ stage but this should balance out with Maturity. Excellent rear quarters which will should only get better with age.

Class 71 Junior (4 Entries) Abs:0

1st Mills, Mills, Mills & Parsons Mrs L, Miss S, Mr J & Miss H, Priorpark Pride and Joy to Nzuri.

Lovely head with a nice dark eye and good expression. Good length of neck leading to well set on forequarters but would prefer a little more return of upper arm. Good infill of chest. Nice topline leading to good tail set. Stands on good feet and pasterns. Moved out well and handled beautifully.

2nd Mrs H Nolan, Priorpark Pearl of Wisdom.

Another beautiful youngster showing so much promise. Lovely head with kind dark eye. Good length of neck leading to well set on forequarters. Good infill of chest leading to strong hindquarters with good angulation. More compact than my winner and just not as settled on the move.

Class 72 Prost Graduate (5 Entries) Abs:2

1st Mr M Walker Markeliz Tea Time Two

Light wheaten bitch with super head and lovely expression. Deep capacious chest with good angles front and rear. Well off for length she moved out with a nice long easy stride. Well handled. RBOB

Class73 Open (5 Entries) Abs:2

1st Mrs KL Barker Delianza What’s Your Motive JW.

I have had the pleasure of judging this dog before when he was a puppy. At the time I said his moment to shine would come and today he did not disappoint. What’s not to like about him. Super head with correct planes and kind expression that is maturing beautifully. Super forechest with correct prosternum when seen in profile. Good front and rear angulation. He covers the ground with ease and is at one with his handler. Pleased to award him BOB and see him go on to get RBIS. A beautiful picture.

2nd Picton and Ince Miss H and Mr A Priorpark Point and Click

Liver nosed male with a nice head and kind expression. Strong neck leading good forequarters. Enough infill of chest. Stands on good feet. Good angles front and rear. Carries tail a little too high for me when on the move.
