I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the officers and committee of Great Yarmouth, Gorleston & District Canine Society for the kind invitation to judge Bullmastiffs and Neapolitan Mastiffs at their well-organised Premier Open Show. It was a pleasure to be part of such a well-supported event, especially on a weekday, and the lively ringside atmosphere added to the enjoyment of the day. All exhibits were a credit to their handlers, and I’m truly grateful to those who entered for allowing me the privilege of judging your lovely dogs.

P (1 0) 1 Porter & Bowser’s Zero Gravity of Black Hunar at Araucaria. 6 month old red bitch of pleasing type with a well-proportioned head and strong pigmentation. She has a good reach of neck. Body is coming on well for age, with promising substance and depth. Displays good angulation both front and rear, contributing to a balanced and steady profile. Moved out with confidence, maintaining her balance and shape on the move.

L (1 0) 1 Smith’s Luna Day Dream. 3 year old mature brindle bitch with a correctly proportioned skull and expressive dark eye, giving a typical and alert expression. Well-muscled throughout, with a strong, level topline and good depth of body. Balanced angulation fore and aft, allowing her to move with confidence, purpose, and drive.

O (1 0) 1 Porter & Bowser’s Araucaria Sambucus Nigeria (AI). 5 year old mature red male of impressive type, displaying a correct, masculine head and a strong, well-muscled neck. Well developed chest and shoulders, giving him strength and presence without coarseness. Maintains a firm, level topline both standing and on the move. Moved with power and balance, showing purpose and fluidity. A commanding male in excellent condition.

P (2 0) 1 Evans’s Makaevo Georgio. 11-month-old, well-developed youngster with impressive bone and substance for his age. Masculine head with pleasing proportions and expression. Well-placed shoulders and a broad, well-filled chest. Good spring of rib and depth of body, supporting a firm, level topline. Balanced angulation fore and aft, with strong, well-muscled thighs. Moved with enthusiasm. 2 11 month-old black bitch with a feminine head and pleasing expression, enhanced by dark, well-shaped eyes. Attractive dark coat in good condition. Nicely developed neck flowing into well-laid shoulders. Good length of body with balanced angulation front and rear. Steady on the move.
