Dukeries [Notts] Gundog Club

Dukeries Gundog Club Premier Open Show 15th February 2025

Golden Retriever and Flatcoated Retriever

Judge Andrea Kiddell HAMELDOWNTOR

I would like to thank Dukeries Gundog commitee for inviting me to judge at this well run gundog show with rings of a good size. The sand surface in our ring was quite deep at this venue and proved tricky for some dogs and owners. My thanks to a first class ring steward, Rachel for keeping the morning runing so smoothly!

Entry numbers were light for Golden Retrievers, however the Best of the Best event going on elsewhere this weekend would account for that.

I was delighted with my Flatcoat entry and was spoilt for choice in several classes. Post Graduate class had a very wide range of ages from just 2 years up to 6 years. Some of the younger entrants needing a little more time to mature. Temperament and quality of my Flatcoats was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed my morning, albiet a freezing day! Thanks so much to everyone who entered, for your support and acceptance of my placements.
