Cheltenham & District Open show 23rd Feb
Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge at their open show, thank you to my stewards, Grant and Ellisabet, for keeping the ring running smoothly and for keeping me in check. We had a lot to get through and the smooth running of my ring was solely down to my experienced and efficient stewards - thank you! I had a lovely entry of dogs and the quality was overall excellent. Thank you to the exhibitors for entering their dogs under me and allowing me the privilege over going over them and for accepting my decisions with grace. I judge movement, many of my decisions today were governed by this, if you are questioning my decisions, I urge you to assess your own dogs movement. Also, some very nice dogs are being let down my their handlers, it is astonishing to me how many people cannot go in a straight line.
JUNIOR HANDLING 6-11 YRS (10, 6)
1. Daisy Bray Really smart handler, professional and gentle at all times. Excellent pattern work, knew all the answers to the questions. Quiet and calm with lovely rapport with dog. I would trust this young lady with any of my dogs
2. Abigail Twigg Sweet handler, well presented. Knew the answers to the questions and pattern work was excellent also. Just preferred the overall rapport that 1 had with her dog, but work on this and you will be hard to split
3. Leila-Rayne Cooper
JUNIOR HANDLER 12-16 YRS (6,2)
1. Leightan-Jem Cooper really smart handler, handling a whippet. Technically spot on with pattern work and lead changes. Super well done, I was very impressed with your overall picture and I loved how gentle you were with your dog at all times.
2. Pheobe Johnson Smart handler, charge not so easy today so well done not getting flustered. Tidy up the pattern work as we discussed and this will push you up the placings. Like the positive attitude and nice lines and corners.
3. Georgina Clarke
ADULT HANDLING 17-35 YRS
What a class! Easily the class of the day. Some super professional and technically spot on handling today, it was thought for me as a judge today. My top 3 were particularly strong, I was really splitting hairs. Well done on the high calibre of handling in this class.
1. Isabelle Collier Perfection! So tight on all moves while keeping correct pace for dog. So clam and professional, it meant I had to be super tough on the top three. Could not find fault
2. Elise O’Connor Super smart and tidy handler, dog al little nervous but handled this perfectly. Super precision on the patterns, just wondered slightly on the up and down which is where I split the hairs. Another I would trust with any of my dogs at any time.
3. Megan Rayner
ADULT HANDLING 36 YRS
1 - Lynn Hodson Super smart handler who I have judged before. Foot perfect and so gentle with her dog. Everything was correct and tidy. Another I would trust my dogs to. Technically spot on while executing everything to a super high standard. Well done!
2 - Michelle Jones Loved the relationship with this pair, not the easiest dog but they were having fun while being technically correct. Great pattern work just tighten up those corners on the move and you’ll be pushing hard for top honours.
