Whippets
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the South Eastern Hound Club for the kind invitation to judge at your show and the support of the entry by The Whippet Club. It was a genuine pleasure to spend the day among such passionate exhibitors and quality dogs. The atmosphere was welcoming, the organisation seamless, and the hospitality deeply appreciated. It’s always an honour to be entrusted with the opportunity to assess dogs that breeders and owners have poured so much care and dedication into. Thank you again for allowing me to be part of your event.
PUPPY DOG/BITCH
Leverett’s WHIPPINESS EYES DOWN – A 10-month-old dark blue male with white trim presenting a refined and balanced outline. He carries a long, nicely shaped head with a correct bite and used his ears well to enhance expression. Bone is decent throughout supporting a strong, well-arched neck that flows into adequate shoulders. His forechest is still developing, as expected at this age, but he maintains a level topline and well-bent stifles that contribute to his overall balance. On the move, he tracked parallel and covered the ground smoothly, showing early promise and poise. BEST PUPPY IN BREED
Griffiths’s PELYMA CERTAINLY SNAZZY – A nearly 11-month-old fawn bitch with white trim presenting as a small-statured, tidy young girl with a balanced and feminine outline. She carries a long, well-shaped head with evident strength and a correct bite contributing to a composed and confident expression. Bone is appropriate for her size, though a touch more layback in shoulder would improve overall reach and front assembly. She is short-backed, with excellent hind angulation and a strong second thigh that supports her structure. On the move, she was sound and steady, though lacked true drive. Shown in good condition and handled well, she shows early promise as she continues to mature.
Birchall’s DAPPERDIVA WILD AND WONDER.
JUNIOR DOG/BITCH
Sawer’s BOUGHTON BERBERIS – A quality 17-month-old fawn and white dog with a graceful outline and confident presence. He carries a long, lean head that tapers into a strong, well-defined muzzle, complemented by a correct bite and a beautiful, expressive eye. His sweeping body lines are enhanced by excellent bone and a strong, deep chest. Shoulders are very good, and his hindquarters are well angulated, contributing to a balanced and athletic silhouette. On the move, he tracked parallel both coming and going with effortless grace, but it was at speed that his true construction virtues came to life—fluid, powerful, and unmistakably Whippet. Pleased to reward him RESERVE BEST OF BREED.
Seviour’s STONEFOX PATHFINDER at OSTERFEN – A 17-month-old fawn and white dog with pleasing overall balance and a gentle athleticism. He carries a nicely proportioned head of good length and shape, though the eyes are slightly bold. His strong, arched neck flows into decent shoulders supporting a gentle, well-formed topline that adds to his elegant outline. He stands over straight bone with tight, well-knit feet, and his hindquarters are well angled contributing to his drive. On the move, he covered the ground with purpose and efficiency, showing soundness and strength in motion.
Williams’s STARCEYLON BELLA NOTTE at TIGSISLE.
GRADUATE DOG
Earnshaw’s PALMIK I KNOW WHAT I LIKE at MOONSHADOW – A brindle and white dog of pleasing size and virtue, presenting a long, strong, and lean head with an alert expression and a correct bite. He carries good bone and lovely body lines, with well-laid-back shoulders and a straight front that contribute to his balanced silhouette. His hindquarters are sweeping and well angulated, supported by a strong second thigh that promises power and drive. Movement was very good once he settled, and given the blustery conditions and uneven ground, it was entirely understandable that it took him a few moments to find his rhythm. Once he did, his quality shone through.
Price’s KIERPARK IT’S NOW OR NEVER among SILKDANCE.
LIMIT DOG
Bunney’s BUNEHUG LET IT BE ME – A deep fawn male with white trim who immediately caught my eye upon entering the ring—truly the picture of masculine balance. His body is beautifully made throughout§4 with excellent shoulders showing correct layback and length of humerus. A gently arched, muscular topline flows into well-angled stifles and a strong second thigh, completing a powerful and athletic silhouette. He has sufficient bone for his size and sex, maintaining both strength and refinement. On the move, he tracked parallel coming and going, driving with excellent propulsion and fluidity. A quality dog through and through—pleased to award him BEST OF BREED.
