South Eastern Hound Club

South Eastern Hound Club 31st August 2025 Judge: Ms Andrea Gates (Sylphine) Borzois I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the South Eastern Hound Club for the kind invitation to judge at your show. It was a genuine pleasure to spend the day among such passionate exhibitors and quality dogs. The atmosphere was welcoming, the organisation seamless, and the hospitality deeply appreciated. It’s always an honour to be entrusted with the opportunity to assess dogs that breeders and owners have poured so much care and dedication into. Thank you again for allowing me to be part of your event. JUNIOR Shakespeare’s MENIGMA CRAZY ABOUT HER with CAIRDEAN – A 14-month-old white and silver sable bitch who exudes youthful promise and graceful presence. She carries a beautiful head with keen, intelligent eyes, well-placed ears and a correct bite, creating a refined and alert expression. Her body lines are pleasing and balanced with decent shoulders that are still developing and a correct humerus. She stands over straight bone with desirable flex in the pasterns, and her hindquarters show very good angulation, supported by a developing second thigh that hints at future power. On the move, she flowed across the ground with ease and elegance, demonstrating fluidity and soundness. A lovely young bitch with all the ingredients for a bright and successful future. RESERVE BEST OF BREED & BEST OPPOSITE SEX OPEN Birmingham’s TAKATORI BARNUM – A fully mature three-year-old white and fawn dog with a commanding, majestic bearing that immediately draws the eye. This large, masculine fellow possesses a long, beautifully formed head with a gentle, intelligent expression and a correct bite. He is cloaked in an abundance of clean, silky coat that drapes over well-laid shoulders, framing a straight front with tight, well-knit feet. His deep chest flows into a slightly curving back and loin, supported by nicely angulated stifles that contribute to his balanced silhouette. On the move, he demonstrated effortless power and reach, though showed a slight tendency to turn in behind when his gait slowed. Nonetheless, a quality dog whose presence and construction speak to his breed type and maturity. BEST OF BREED.
