Thank you to the committee at Llandudno for inviting me to judge at your lovely show in beautiful North Wales. The weather was kind, the atmosphere friendly, and the hospitality much appreciated. Thank you also to the exhibitors for the entry—I thoroughly enjoyed my day and it was a real pleasure to judge your dogs.

Puppy (2)

1st – Penwincoed Esmeralda

11-month-old fawn bitch of good overall type. Displays pleasing length of body with a balanced outline and developing curves. Feminine head with a soft expression. Moved soundly, though lacked a little drive from the rear on the day. Presents a well-constructed frame that should benefit from further maturity and muscle development. Best Puppy.

2nd – Snaptrap Silver Sixpence

Very raw 9-month-old parti-coloured dog who moved well in profile, demonstrating good reach and extension. Good dentition, pleasing underline, and well-developed rear angulation. Still a little bum-high at this stage, which is not unusual for his age. I liked his masculine head and overall presence. With maturity and development, he should strengthen and balance.

Graduate (4)

1st – Penwincoed Mr Magoo

11-month-old brindle dog of good size and clear masculinity. Pleasing head, good length of neck, and sufficient depth of chest for age. Won the class on movement, covering the ground with ease, though topline can flatten slightly at times. Still very much a youngster, and with maturity, should continue to strengthen and settle. Litter brother to 1st in Puppy.

2nd – Jothryn Lady Penelope

Nearly 2-year-old fawn brindle bitch with a sweet, feminine expression. Very curvy and elegant, presenting a classic flowing outline—more my type than the winner today. Plenty of quality on the stand, though handler needs more practice to fully present her to advantage.

3rd – Barnesmore Star Gazer

Post Graduate (4)

1st – Crème Anglaise’s Entourage with Silkridge

13-month-old brindle bitch of lovely type. One I had admired ringside, and on closer inspection she did not disappoint. Elegant and curvy with a classic silhouette. Sweet, feminine head, good heart room, neat feet, and strong rear angulation. Very sound on the move, covering the ground with ease and maintaining her outline. Balanced and stylish throughout. Best of Breed and so pleased to see she went Best in Show. Many congratulations will watch with interest.

2nd – Crosscop Just a Friend

Nearly 2-year-old parti-coloured bitch of a different type to the winner, but full of quality. Very curvy with a pleasing outline. Moved well with good ground coverage. Markings can be deceiving, but hands-on reveals sufficient chest depth. A little fidgety on the day but sympathetically handled. Unlucky to meet the first today.

3rd – Penwincoed Betty Boop

Open (3)

1st – Crème Anglaise’s Entourage with Silkridge

(See Post Graduate 1st.)

2nd – Penwincoed Amazing Grace

25-month-old fawn brindle bitch of nice type, typical of this kennel. Feminine with a lovely expression, neat ears, good dentition, and plenty of heart room. A bit long in body for my personal preference, and I would like to see more curve to the outline. Moved well in profile with smooth, easy action—just a touch close behind. A quality bitch with many appealing features.

3rd – Jothryn Rebelled in Joy
