My thanks to the society for giving me the opportunity to judge Beardies at your lovely show – my first appointment and one that will stay with me through my judging career. Thanks also to my steward who kept the ring running efficiently.

Bearded Collies

P (4,1) 1 Collins’ Full of the Dickens Winner Takes It all for Kingswud

I was very impressed with this precocious 11-month-old boy. On the stand he presented a classic outline showing balance in body through his correct proportions. When putting my hands on he didn’t disappoint being well muscled and lean. Level topline, with well laid-back shoulders and matching rear. All designed to give that typical effortless Beardie movement. He just kept on going and in the challenge pulled out all of the stops to not only go BP but also BOB. Delighted to hear that he went on to gain G4 and PG1. A bright future for this boy I am sure.

2 Mitchell’s Beabeardies Grace Kelly

Lovely 10-month-old female of correct proportions, presenting a pleasing outline when stacked. Initially a little animated on the move, but once settled, she demonstrated true, purposeful movement. Her coat was well-presented and of the correct texture, enhancing her overall impression.

3 Bevis’ Beabeardies Blue Monday

J (2,0) 1 Bowdens’ Subessen The Wonder of You

13-month-old blue male exhibiting a well-balanced outline. A delight to assess, with a broad head and well laid-back shoulders. He possesses a lean yet well-muscled frame. His expression was bright and enquiring, showing confidence and engagement, with no trace of nervousness. On the move, he carried his tail low and demonstrated excellent ground coverage with long, reaching strides. Pleased to award him RBOB.

2 Mitchell’s Beabeardies Grace Kelly

PG (2,0) 1 O’Connells’ Potterdale Royal Sapphire of Atherleigh

Mature 2-year-old blue female who even though is on the smaller side showed the true proportions creating a lovely outline when stood. Had a broad head with a kind expression and had supple movement allowing her to cover the ground with ease whilst carrying a level topline all throughout. Her coat was impeccably presented further amplifying her attractive outline. One to look out for.

2 Bevis’ Beabeardies Cinnamon Girl

5-year-old brown girl who’s well balanced all throughout, broad, flat head with strong muzzle. Kind expression which tones with her coat. She covered the ground with ease with long reaching strides, made it difficult for 1 today. Just felt 1 had a little more finish.

O (2,0) 1 Collins’ Ch Luna de Chester at Kingswud (Imp Fra) JW

Nearly 10 years old and still showing her socks off. Immaculately presented with a stunning coat creating a lovely profile. She was a pleasure to go over starting with her soft and affectionate expression. The correct angulation allowed her to move out well. Level topline which was maintained stood and on the move.

2 Bowdens’ Subessen Heart of Rome (Re-Imp)

6-year-old male who was in lovely condition, well-muscled and lean. He had correct proportions creating the overall pleasing image. Deep chest and strong loin and well laid back shoulders which match the rear creating the smooth gait allowing him to cover the ground. Strong open class.
