Japanese Chin Club

Japanese Chin Club UK Open Show At Markfield Leicestershire 20th July 2025 I would like to say a big ‘Thank You’ to the committee and exhibitors for an enjoyable appointment. My special thanks to my steward Bob Armstrong who did a great job and to Scarlett for her cuppa’s on arrival. The quality in the SAC classes far exceeded my expectations. And I was delighted that they were well filled. I had five exhibits that could and I am sure will attain their titles in the very near future. They were my first two class winners and first to third in the Open Class. CLASS A. SPECIAL AWARD JUNIOR DOG OR BITCH (3 ENT 0 ABS) 1st. Mrs L Flynn - Sharlarna Philanderer At Linjato I year old black and white male of great breed type. He has a most appealing head to go over. It has the correct ratio. Lovely and round. Darkest of eyes showing just enough white in the corner to give a soft astonished look. Large cushions with dark pigmentation to his lips. Nice wide jaw. And well set ears. Correct length of neck into good shoulders running down into a good front, level top line and correct tail set. Which is of good length and well feathered. Coat of correct texture. He has a bright future ahead. 2nd. Miss B Newbury - Sharlarna Brandy Blaze 7 1/2 month pale red and white male puppy. He was very well handled by this exhibitor. He has a pretty head, nice dark pigmentation, dark eyes, well set ears. Level top line nicely set tail. Would just prefer a straighter leg with a stronger pastern. This exhibitor showed two more exhibits and they all related very well to her with super temperaments. 3rd. Miss L Bradley - Sharlarna Faking it. CLASS B. SPECIAL AWARD POST GRADUATE DOG OR BITCH (9 ENT 4 ABS) 1st. Mr S Cayton - Aleemai Mr Brightside Almost 2 years old black and white male. Oozes breed type. Beautifully balanced head. With the correct reverse three. Lovely dark eye, with small amount of white in the corner giving the desired look. Melting expression. Well shaped cushions and a wide jaw. Black pigmentation and correct ear placement finished the head. Correct length of neck into a good shoulder. Nice rib cage and once fully mature this will be even better. Good straight front legs. Level top line. Correct length of back giving a square look. Very well set tail with a beautiful plume. Coat of silky texture. Moved out true. One I could have taken home. 2nd. Mrs L Crane - Cranvarl Eliza Doolittle 22 month Red and White bitch. Slightly longer cast female, and being between coats did not help. But she shows promise for the future. She moves out well for her owner. A good front and breed type got her this place today. 3rd. Miss B Newbury - Sharlarna Symphony CLASS C. SPECIAL AWARD OPEN DOG OR BITCH (8 ENT 3 ABS) 1st. Mr S Rooney, Mrs A Green, Mr J Green - Jaschin Paw Star 21 month old black and white male. This male headed up a trio of the most wonderful Chins. That could change place on another day. I wished I had a handful of CC’s to award. At times he was challenging for his handler but he took the ring with verve to win the class. He has a classic Japanese Chin head. Beautifully balanced throughout. Lovely dark eye well shaped and with a melting expression. His ears are perfectly placed with good furnishings finishing his head off nicely. Lovely length of neck into his shoulders. Good front. Enough depth to his chest at this age which will develop as he matures. Level top line into a good tail set. When you measure him correctly he is well balanced throughout. Silky coat texture. Very showy on the move. A bright future ahead for this young male. 2nd. Miss L Bradley - Sharlarna All Eyes On Me 21 month black and white bitch. Now this is a Champion if ever I saw one! Enchanting bitch so aptly named. Pushed hard for first place here. She is exquisite and as sound as they come. Her head is classical as was all three chins placed first to third in this class. Her head is copy book round from all angles. Lovely dark eye with a melting moderate astonished expression. Good ear placement. Lovely neck and into clean shoulders. Good depth of chest and rib. Level top line. Correct silky texture coat. She is beautifully square in shape and move out with style. Handled to perfection. 3rd. Mrs S Rooney, Mrs A Green, Mr J Green - Jaschin Working Man I Am. I know a critique is not required at breed Open Shows for this place, but I have to make comment that this is another Champion in the making. Thank you to all the exhibitors who came under me.
