I would like to sincerely thank the committee for inviting me to judge at your prestigious show, it was both an honour and a privilege. I must also extend my apologies to both the committee and the exhibitors for the delay in publishing my report, and I greatly appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding.

Shetland Sheepdog

1. Hull’s Lizmark Forget Me Not

6mo b, very feminine blue merle puppy at her first show. Not at all nervous, but understandably easily distracted today. Lovely temperament and sweet expression. Used her ears well. Strong neck, well laid shoulders and moderate angulation. Good topline leading onto correctly set tail. Stands on neat, tight feet with good bone for age. When settled, moved positively with confidence around the ring. Shown in excellent coat. BPIB and congratulations on Puppy Group2!

1. Hoare’s Stanydale Ocean Wave

2yo blue merle d, shown in profuse coat. Good ear set and eye shape. Strong muzzle and well balanced with skull. Well pigmented eye rims, lips and nose. Masculine and possesses excellent bone and substance. Very much liked him for his proportionate build and strong movement around the ring displaying ample reach and drive. Best mover of the day. Could not deny him BOB and congratulations on Group1!

2. Fagg’s Valdosta Lionking At Lynscot

2yo d, well balanced sable shown in pleasing coat. Well set tipped ears and correct eye colour. Good length to neck and balanced angulation. Held topline well on the move. Just needs a little more time to mature, but all the key components are there. RBOB

1. Hull’s Mohnesee’s Dream Date Of Lizmark JW

7yo sable d. Another shown in excellent profuse coat. Intelligent, sweet expression. Excellent front construction and overall substance. Well sprung ribs. Good bone and stands on strong feet. Defines his age on the move and although I would prefer a slightly higher narrower ear set, could not deny him this class on movement and construction.

2. Fagg’s Dukeson Golden Fleece At Lynscot

7yo sable d, with masculine wedge shaped head. Well set, tipped ears. Good angulation and help topline well. Had a tendency to sink into his pasterns when stood. A little unsettled today but moved well once focussed.

1. Sladden & Webber’s Canemamans Two Faced

12mo orange & white b. Liked the proportions and planes of her head. Good size and shape to ears. Muzzle deep and good size to nose. Presents a compact shape and good length to thighs. Good bone and strong feet. A little untidy with her foot placement, but excellent length to stride with powerful, driving movement. RBOB

1. Sladden & Webber’s Paris Mon Tresore D’Amoure (Imp Pol)

2yo chestnut & white b. Very typy bracco head and good ears. Strong neck of good length. Well off for bone and compact and square in shape. Would like a little more front angulation to complete the picture. Excellent movement in profile.

2.5yo chestnut & white b which was certainly a handful for her handler today! Excellent head and soft, kind expression. Well angulated and good length to upper arm. Good bone and stands on strong feet. Compact shape and shown in excellent condition. Moved with ample drive around the ring (once settled!). BOB

1. Beasley’s Latjeata Cup Of Kindness

8mo orange belton b with a kind expression. Very feminine and well chiselled, oval skull. Strong neck leading onto pleasing front construction. Liked her substance & deep chest. Excellent overall body proportions and held her topline well both stacked and on the move. Very nice profile movement displaying ample reach and drive. Just pipped for best puppy on movement by her littermate.

2. Weller’s Sharnyx Amazing Grace At Juldeane

6mo blue belton & tan b. Sweet feminine girl with plenty of promise. Excellent oval head and deep muzzle. Good length to neck and compact body. Stands square and neat feet. Would like a little more angulation but is balanced front and rear. Moved with grace around the ring.

1. Beasley’s Latjeata Jack’s The Lad

8mo quality blue belton d with masculine head and strong neck. Well angulated and excellent proportions overall. Good bone for age and strong across the loin. Nothing overdone or exaggerated. Topline held well on the move and tail constantly slashing. Very positive mover with excellent drive. Very graceful gait in profile. BPIB

1. Whittington’s Culverwell Magic Touch

18mo clearly masculine orange belton dog. Excellent skull with balanced proportions to muzzle. Correct stop and thoughtful expression. Strong neck and well laid shoulder. Ample bone and excellent substance. Well ribbed and strong back. Good width behind and stands square. Tail well set. Won his class on his positive movement where he displayed good reach and drive. Pleased to award BOB.

2. White’s Droveborough Silver Pearl For Paduan

18mo blue belton b. Very honest girl with nothing overdone. Presents a balanced outline with pleasing proportions. Very kind expression and feminine head, but still with adequate bone. Good length to neck, leading onto strong, level topline. Moderate tuck up and short coupled. Unfortunately, not in her best coat today and lacked drive on the move.

1. Beasley’s Wansleydale Amaretto At Latjeata

7.5yo tri b. Very feminine and defies her age. Sweet expression and clean-cut skull. Moderate all through and so well balanced. Good angulation, correct bone and well ribbed. Held her topline and moved with grace around the ring. Shown in lovely silky coat. Pushed hard in the challenge and pleased to award RBOB.

2. Whittington’s Juldeane Line Of Duty (AI)

5yo orange belton d. Very masculine and strong in the head. Strong neck and well off for bone but wouldn’t like any more. Good substance and good spring of rub. Strong back and moderate tuck up. Correct tail carriage on the move but would like a little more momentum out of him.

1. Heath & Robinson’s Sh Ch Pinseeker Pep Guardiola JW

3yo d who could not be denied his winnings today! Could not get over how well conditioned this dog was. Very well balanced and presented a clean outline. Clean cut masculine head. Excellent bone, well angulated. Well sprung ribs and short coupled. Strong tight feet and good width behind. Excellent muscle tone and was clearly fit for function. Drove around the ring effortlessly.Such a shame that he stood alone but nonetheless delighted to award BOB and huge congratulations on Group1! Very well deserved.

9mo b. Very feminine with an excellent head. Well-proportioned muzzle with good depth. Correct ears and kind expression. Good bone for age. A little open in angulation at present but hopefully will improve with maturity. Nevertheless, still well balanced and presents a proportionate outline. BPIB

5.5yo b presented in excellent coat and condition. Very much liked her head and depth of muzzle. Correct stop and very feminine expression. Plenty of substance and bone without being too heavy or overdone. Good angulation and well developed ribs. Very good rear and strong, straight hocks. Very positive on the move. Pleased to award BOB.

2. O’Kelly & Hancock’s Caradilis Sparks Will Fly JW

3yo b, more moderate than 1. Very feminine in the skull. Excellent front construction and very well ribbed with good depth of chest. Moderate tuck up and short coupled. Stands square with straight hocks. Good width to second thigh. Would like a touch more rear angulation to balance the front. RBOB

8mo b whom I very much liked for her feminine head and expression. Good skull planes and depth of muzzle with well developed nostrils. Good length to neck leading onto level topline. Presents a clean, balanced outline and correctly proportioned. Good bone and stands on tight, neat feet. Good width behind and straight hocks. Excelled in her rear movement and drive. BPIB

21mo d who had such a happy and confident attitude today. Strong, masculine head and dark, well-set eyes and kind expression. Strong neck of good length. Excellent angulation fore and aft. Ribs well-developed and held a level topline. Excellent substance and bone. Very athletic and just flew around the ring with power and grace. Shown in gleaming coat and well feathered. Delighted to award BOB and congratulations on Group2!

21mo b whom I have admired before from the ringside (and littermate to Limit winner). Feminine head and calm, sweet expression. Correct stop, good depth to muzzle and dark eye. Excellent angulation and substance without being overdone. Good spring of rib and moderate tuck up. Strong back and good width behind. Stands on strong, tight feet. Moved accurately around the ring with grace. Not quite as confident as her brother today, which cost her in the challenge. RBOB

12mo very feminine b who has lovely balance all through. Very calm and quietly confident temperament. Refined, feminine skull with well-defined occiput. Good length to neck leading onto straight and slightly sloping topline. Moderate angulation front and rear. Shown in gleaming red coat of good condition. Pleased to award BOB.

2. Parsoons’ Quensha Woman In Love to Bransett

13mo b. Nicely shaped oval skull and good length to muzzle. Good bone and well ribbed. Moderate tuck up. Held a level topline and correct tail set. Would like a little more angulation to complete the picture. Shown in glossy, rich red coat. RBOB

4yo yellow d. Happy and confident temperament, with tail constantly wagging. Loved his masculine head and dark pigmentation. Good sized ears, set back on the head. Well-muscled neck leading onto strong, level topline. Good substance and moved with plenty of drive around the ring.

Very happy masculine 3.5yo yellow dog. Very much liked his head. Well pigmented and dark brown eye. Good depth of chest and well ribbed. Moderate tuck up and short coupled. Level topline, and thick otter tail, constantly wagging. Very positive mover and displayed good drive around the ring. Shown in good coat. Pleased to award BOB.

2. Harrison’s Llanstinan Mascara With Stebel

7.5yo black b who defies her age. Very feminine and refined head. Moderate angulation and well ribbed. Good width to second thigh and stands on neat feet. Very gentle temperament and a graceful in movement. Good quality coat. RBOB

7mo liver & white d, who headed up a very strong puppy class. Quietly confident and such ring presence! Well proportioned head, good ears and kind eye. Moderate and compact in shape and so balanced. Excellent forechest and well angulated front and rear. Excellent muscle tone for age. Very positive, ground-covering movement. Shown in lovely coat with good feathering. 8mo Liver & white b of such quality and very close up to 1 today. Very pretty head with correct, breed typical shape and feminine all through. Kind face with expressive eyes. Excellent bone and substance and presents a clean outline. Balanced, moderate angulation. Shown in beautiful coat of excellent condition and feathering. Excellent free flowing movement.

7mo b. Very pretty & feminine head. Balanced overall proportions. Moderate angulation and nothing overdone. A very honest b with plenty of promise – understandably just a little raw at present.

3.5yo liver & white b. Good skull shape and overall head proportions. Sweet expression. Good bone. Stands square on strong well padded feet. Very positive on the move. Well feathered and shown in good coat condition.

Young 7.5mo d. Liked his well-chiselled head and overall balance. Clean neck of good length. Well angulated front and rear and elbows tight to ribs, which are well developed for age. Excellent forechest. Good substance and well off for bone. Moved well. BPIB

2. Fisher & Burchmore’s Lenamore On The Rocks With Fonntanelli (AI)

7.5mo b and littermate to 1. So so sweet in temperament and such a feminine head and expression. Very good front construction but would like a little more angulation behind to bring her into balance. Still quite a raw pup, but has plenty of potential. Another that moved well – just a touch behind her brother in development at this stage.

3.5yo b who is full of character! Confident and epitomises the ‘merry’ disposition of the breed. Feminine head with good pigmentation. Dark brown eye and correct ear set. Well ribbed with close fitting elbows. Well angulated front and read. Good forechest. Excellent substance and condition. Very well-muscled hindquarters with good width behind. Shown in gleaming, silky coat. Moved very well and could not deny her BOB.
