South West Hound Club Open Show

My thanks go to the committee for inviting me to judge several breeds at this lovely show. An array of quality hounds throughout many breeds were present today, making the judging a pleasure. Thank you to those entered under me to today, there was a lovely atmosphere throughout.

1st & BOB Adeys’ – Abon Sfora Nordowskiej Knieji At Ruebeusbay (Imp Pol) Shcex – Balanced of good size, substance and condition throughout. Masculine head, long and broad. Ears of good size and correctly set. Super neck length leading to good shoulders. Nice depth of chest, with correct shape to his ribs. Good length of ribs and a strong loin to match. Super rear assembly, providing appropriate propulsion.

1st Farrars’ – Henissy Farthing - Nice unexaggerated bitch in good condition and of quality throughout, finished in Lemon and White. Pretty head, good width to skull. Nice high set ears. Good length to her neck. Leading to correctly made front. Appropriate depth of chest. Good arch over her loin. Well muscled rear assembly, helping her cover the ground freely.

2nd Farrars’ – Henissy Fanfare – Handsome tri coloured dog of good proportions, and taller in stature. Shown in good condition. Good head and expression. ears set high. Strong neck of length. Ok lay of shoulder, and depth of chest of chest to match. Good spring to his ribs. Good topline and strong loin. Good rear assembly giving him suitable propulsion.

1st & BOB Farrars’ – Henissy Fancy – Of good size and substance and couldn’t look past her quality throughout, in striking white. Smart head, with nice width of skull. Good ear set. Strong neck of correct length. Well put together front, with a nice lay to the shoulder. Chest of great depth with correct shape and of length. Correct topline, strong loin. Well made rear, very well muscled. In profile nicely balanced with plenty of reach and drive.

2nd Farrars’ – Evforce Miss Havoc At Henissy – Red and white bitch. Nice type but of less stature of first. Pretty expression, with good shape of skull. Nice ears. Strong neck with of suitable length. Ok front with good chest shape providing plenty of room. Nice shape to her topline leading to appropriate made rear end.

Graduate

1st & BOB Mortimers’ - Laakso Julaften – A bitch who confidently stepped into the ring and showed herself well. Presented in good condition. Of good size and substance. Pretty expression, nice eye shape and expressive ears, of good size and nicely set. Strong neck leading to a well made set of shoulders. Good depth of chest. Nice spring to rib and correct loin length. Good tail set, and moderate rear. Correct coat. Effortless movement covering the ground with ease.

2nd Cuss’ - Norvin Krackjen – Handsome lad with a good expression and head shape. Ok ears, dark eye. Strong neck leading to ok front, and appropriate depth of chest. Good shape to his ribs. Good tail set and ok rear. Drove out well in profile, whilst a little unsettled for and aft.

Limit

1st Barbanksas’ – Barbelka Dauntless Spirit – Feminine throughout with a good outline, in proportion. Nice head piece, expressive eye and ear set. Ok neck length leading to good shoulders, providing suitable reach. Well sprung ribs of good length. Strong loin, with good tail set to match. A well made rear with strength throughout. Nice in profile holding her topline on the move.

2nd Cuss’ - Norvin Orkla – Nice lad of nice overall size and shape. ok head, with good ears. Strong neck. ok set of shoulders with good chest depth and ribs of length. Good loin length and of strength, holding his toppling on the move. Nice tail, correctly set. Ok rear providing enough drive.

1st Mortimers’ - Ch Laakso Dana – A mature bitch of quality, nice outline and correctly square. Liked the shape of her head, with good ears to match, nicely set. Good length of neck. A well laid shoulder, with a suitable depth of chest to match. Straight front, and good feet. Strong loin of good length. Good tail set, correctly carried. Strong rear giving drive in profile.

2nd Barbanksas’- Cealdstan Ancestral Voices Of Barbelka – a lot to like about this feminine bitch. Good proportions throughout and a good outline. Smart head, expressive, and of good shape. good ear set and of size. Strength to her neck. well laid shoulder and depth of chest to match, and good fill. Nice ribbing with and loin of strength to match. Well carried tail. Ok rear, in nice conditioned. Unfortunate to meet first here.

1st Gracies’ – Conestoga & Crossroads Kara Journeys to Trailkeeper – Total youngster but with super underpinnings. Liked her strong type, with good proportions for age and showing balance. Smart head. Nice long ears with good fold. Long neck, and a good lay of shoulder. Appropriate depth of chest for age and of length. Strong loin. Moderate rear providing balanced movement.

2nd Gracies’ – Conestoga & Crossroads Kellan Journeys to Trailkeeper – Litter Brother to 1st, but a little unsettled today. Much of the same qualities as first, albeit with masculine features. Strong head, with a good ear and fold. Good neck length. Preferred front of 1st. good chest shape and of length. Appropriately made rear.

1st & RBOB Freegards’ – Sincerity Kallamtan Cashar (Imp Fin) JW – Smart dog, ticked a lot of boxes. Black and grizzle, nice feathering throughout. Nice long handsome head. Good expression. Long neck leading to a well made front, nice . Good shape to his chest. Correct topline, with appropriate loin length. Well made rear and low set hocks. Nice reach on the move with easy drive. Pushed hard for BOB

2nd Smithsons’ – Silvershadow Zelda Odi Et Amo Elessar – Nicely made chocolate bitch, of a smart, clean type. Well proportioned throughout. A good length to her head, with correct eye shape. Good ears and of length. Ok shoulders, with a good depth of chest and a nice underline. Good topline and length of loin. Nicely put together rear assembly. Had a pleasing flow to her movement with appropriate width to and for.

1st & BOB Hams’ – Ravenseff Ashkan – Smart red gentleman of nice type and in excellent condition. Nice long head, masculine with good expression. Good ear set, with correct length. Good feathering throughout. Good neck length leading to a nice lay of shoulder, providing good reach. Correct depth of chest, with a nice shape to it, and of length. Nice feet. Good flow to his topline with appropriate width at the loin, providing power. Well set hips. Moderate bend to his rear, providing good drive. Just felt he was a little more finished.

2nd Smithson - Chisobee Fahmiy Faraashah – Nicely put together black and tan, mature bitch of correct size and substance. graceful throughout. Long head, good ears and of length. Good neck length leading to a nice lay of shoulder. Appropriate chest depth and of length. Appropriate tuck up. good topline with strong loin. Nicely set rear, providing easy movement. A little unsettled today.

1st and BOB – Carters’ – Ir Ch Aabidah De Polvo Magico Cw24 Cjw24 (Imp) – Pretty, elegant lady of good size and in proportion. Nice head and expression. Long neck, leading to well made front. Good depth of chest with correct shape. nice underline and topline. Short loin, strong. Correct rear assembly on good condition. Covered the ground effortlessly, with correct width throughout.
