1. O’Neill Clark & Pearson’s Tsoyu Wakamizu Go Anshee.

10 month, super feminine girl who was a delightful start to my day. Very well proportioned for her age, giving a breed typical outline in side profile. Such an attractive headpiece with lovely shape of eye, dark pigment and well developed cheeks. Ears thick and carried well, leading into a nice arch of neck. She is at that slightly bum-high stage in development, so topline still to strengthen but nothing alarming for her age. Beautiful coat of good colour & texture, with well defined urajiro and the most fantastic, well furred tail carried to advantage at all time. Pleasing width of chest and developing well in depth for her age, complimented by a defined tuck up. Nice tight feet, pasterns still to tighten which did show in her front action however this didn’t detract from the fluidity and efficiency she otherwise showed in motion, particularly in side profile. A very promising youngster who I was pleased to award both Best of Breed & Best Puppy in Breed.

1. Capps, Capps & Dunhill-Hall’s Vormund Mega Man At Brackreef.

21 month boy with a look at me attitude. Masculine headpiece without being overdone for his age, showing good muzzle to skull proportions with a fantastic, dark eye, well developed cheeks and good sized, well carried ears. Lovely arch of neck leading into a pleasingly constructed front, moderate in all the ways the standard asks for and balanced well in the rear, giving a nice outline in side profile. Good width of chest viewed front on with nice tight elbows. Super coat and a well set tail. He was a tad enthusiastic on the move but was sound on the out & back when settled and showed a purposeful gait in side profile. Pushed hard for RBOB.

2. Huynh’s Rahima Hocu’s Pocu’s

20 month girl with a sweet expression and a clear rapport with her handler. Feminine in head, with nicely shaped eyes and super dark pigment although could use her ears more to advantage. Correct length of neck leading into a well laid back shoulder with good width of chest and a naturally clean stand viewed front on. A touch longer bodied in side profile, and not quite the static strength in topline of first place but did hold her shape well on the move. Moderately angled in the rear, with enough turn of stifle and a well set tail. She was smooth in sidegait but felt first place edged her in rear action, today.

1. Andrew’s Vormund Can’t Wait To Be King Claran.

2 year, super typey young man who immediately caught my eye for his all male side profile, showing good substance and overall balance. Cracking head piece with lovely shape of eye, good breadth to skull and well carried ears. Muscular neck of good length, leading into a nicely placed shoulder and firm topline. Complimentary rear angles with good strong hocks. Nice tail carriage and quality coat of good colour. He was lovely to watch in motion, demonstrating a super sound, easy motion from all angles, which sealed the deal for his class win and then once again in the challenge for Best of Breed.

2. Capps’ Marilouvale Golden Reef at Brackreef

6 year old male whose dignified headpiece belies his clearly cheeky nature. Absolutely loved his expression, the most beautiful oblique set of eye, dark pigment and well proportioned, attentive ears. Enough length of neck with evident arch leading into a strong topline and a well set tail that was carried correctly on the move. Good spring of rib, nice tight elbows and moderately angulated at both ends. Although a taller framed boy, not helped by being in his summer jacket today, still well-proportioned throughout giving an impression of athleticism. His good length of leg certainly showed in his ground covering stride, and while his gusto on the move did made him look a tad less tidy in front at times – which cost him the class win today - I was still charmed by his brisk, determined footfall in side profile and his sassy character, and couldn’t deny him Reserve Best of Breed in nice company.

3. Huynh’s Rahima Hocu’s Pocu’s

Repeat from SY but would add had settled into her pace more in this class, showing off her light footed movement well in the final go round.

1. Capps’ Marilouvales Queen Elsa VW.

11 year young female, and every bit the refined lady with a just hint of arrogance in her demeanour. No doubting her gender with a pretty, feminine head, well carried ears leading into a nice length of neck and good chest. Stood on lovely tight feet at all four corners with no weakness in pasterns as one might have forgiven in double figures. Thick, dense coat and beautiful tail carriage. Her balanced construction showed on the move, with such a clean, sound action from all angles, still effortless in motion albeit not the drive of her competitors today, which was the deciding factor in what was a closely considered challenge. A beautiful veteran and a pleasure to judge.

1. Allen & Wells’ Harpan’s Halo.

4 year, agouti female with a calm, regal expression, enhanced by a nicely shaped eye of good colour and well set ears (when she chose to use them). Good length of neck leading into a well laid back shoulder with pleasing length of upper arm. Well sprung ribs with plenty of heart room and good substance for her gender without any hint of coarseness. Level topline leading to a moderate croup and a well furred, happy tail. Good breadth of thigh leading to strong, well let down hocks that gave her a balanced side profile. Nice length of leg and well shaped, workmanlike feet. Plenty of ground cover on the move with a pleasing, efficient sidegait and nice footfall on the away and back with no wasted energy. Happy to award Best of Breed.
