Special Award Classes

My sincere thanks to Spanish Water Dog Club for the appointment to judge the breed that I love and am a most passionate advocate for. The ring was out door with a flat grass surface and could not have been better to show off the powerful but not exaggerated gait that is one of the features of this breed. The weather was perfect, dry, but with enough cloud cover to remain cool.

Class A – Special Award Junior Dog or Bitch

Class B – Special Award Post Graduate Dog or Bitch

1st, Abrabhams’ Cravessa’s Right On The Dot By Adormidera. A white and brown bitch, long tail with lots of SWD character. Good strong head. Perfect coat, wooly but not soft in texture, lovely curl, rustic in nature but nicely presented. Moved with good front and rear balance and correct drive. Correct tail set and carriage. Strong pads with good webbing.

2nd, Whithead’s Pabiaga Marietta At Salvajero. Brown bitch. A happy and contented bitch who seemed to enjoy her time in the ring. Correct body conformation, good spring of rib and depth of chest. Nice curl of coat.

Class C – Special Award Open Dog or Bitch

1st, Parakova’s Agemera Dotty. White and brown bitch. Very pleasing expression. Head proportions correct. Superb hindquarters, well muscled thighs and the breed typical “target bum”. Perfect angulation, well demonstrated when coming to a natural stand. Round feet with strong pads. Shown with long, correctly, unscissored coat, a real testament to a huge amount of coat care work. Lovely topline on the move with unexaggerated power and drive correct for the breed.

2nd, Abrahams’ Adormidera Ziggy Stardust. Black dog with long tail. A noble and elegant head. Hocks well down. Correct tail set and carriage. Well muscled limbs. Good powerful drive on the move without exaggerated angulation. A really good and sound example of an SWD.

3rd, Wood’s Pabiagas Sergio Sinduda JW. Brown and white dog. Lovely markings, with pleasing and correct texture of coat. Well presented. Correct tail set and carriage which she held well on the move. Strong correctly proportioned head with breed typical ears. Good strong pads. Hocks well down.

4th, Slaymaker’s Perrorizado San Andres For Salvajero. Black dog with long tail with correct set and carriage held on the move. Good dentition. Expressive and alert head with correct lengths and proportions. A faithful dog which the handler had a great bond with. Extremely well and empathetically handled.
