Bath Canine Society

Breed: Collie (Smooth)

Thank you to the Bath Canine Society for giving me the opportunity to award Challenge Certificates in Smooth Collies for the first time at such a well-run show. Thanks, must also go to my hardworking ring stewards for their excellent work keeping everything running so well.

Dogs.

Veteran dog (1,0)

1st. Smith’s CH/MULTI CH WINTER IS COMING TO TENTOLA

Quality BM. One I have always liked. Head handles well, nice clean wedge and well-placed stop. Good size dog, with long neck, shoulders well laid back, good angulation front and rear, decent topline all finished off with a nicely carried, long tail. Movement just showing his age now but still moves out well.

Post Grad dog (2.0)

1st Howard’s & Fort’s SHULUNE IMPERIAL INKHEART WITH CASATENTOLA

B/M My find of the day. My notes say wow!! He was full of himself, having great fun but what a super temperament and did everything asked of him. Correct length of head with perfect stop. Flat skull, smooth muzzle. Gentle expression from correct eye shape and placement. Used ears well and were correctly tipped. Perfect length of neck, enhanced by his white collar. Correct lay of shoulder and return of upper arm, straight well boned legs, good depth of chest and spring of rib. Just the right amount of loin length, slight rise over the loin. Rear angulation matches front permitting a nice free movement around the ring. No hesitation to award him the RES CC, he’s one that must have a bright future.

2nd Riva’s MANORDEIFI ROCK ON

Shaded Sable with flashy white markings. Head finer that one but still has a kind expression. Ear set a little wide. Not quite the balance of one.

Limit dog (4,0)

1st Warren & Lusty’s COLDELEE JUPITER RISES WITH BLAMORDER

Tri with a jet-black pigment. Head handles well with no coarseness, kind eye, ears bang on top. Nice reach of neck falling into a good lay back of shoulder. Nice forearm and spring of pastern. Lovely depth of chest. Nicely muscled thigh but would like more bend of stifle. Moves soundly but lacks drive.

2nd Seager’s BLAMORDER MAGIC MAKER WITH FREEJACK JW

Sable dog. Strongly built dog, plenty of substance. Masculine head but would like a little more underjaw. Good front, plenty of heart room. Nice firm topline. Again, would like to see a better bend of stifle.

3rd BLAMORDER SIDE HUSTLE WITH MOURNEBRAKE.

Open dog (4,0)

1st. Sewell’s CH. WYNELE STRIKE IT RICH WITH LEWARNE JW

Tri. I have admired this dog from afar, he didn’t disappoint. He stands rock solid with that look at me air about him. And to see him float around the ring, keeping his lovely topline, not putting a foot wrong, perfection. His head is just what you want in a male, no coarseness just smooth plains, sweet dark eye, correct stop and ears bang on top and tipped perfectly. Long neck flowing into excellent shoulder placement, return of upper arm, lovely depth and width of brisket. Chest coming down to elbows, correct spring of pastern. Good firm back, strong loin and good tail set. Hind angulation matches front perfectly. Could watch him move all day. DOG CC & BOB

2nd Hayward’s WYNELE DOUBLE TROUBLE AT FOXEARTH

Sable. Another, well put together male with similar make and shape as one, just a little larger all over, everything is in total balance. Such sweet temperament as well. Sadly, he was full of beans and didn’t settle down to the job. Would love to see him on another day.

3rd CH. CONSTELLA HAZY COSMIC JIVE JW.

Spec. beginners Dog or Bitch (2.0)

1st. Rundle’s SHULUNE IMPERIAL BONNY BLU

Another I like a lot. BM bitch, Sweet, pretty head that needs to finish. Ears well used, lightly tipped. Lovely long neck, excellent lay back of shoulder. Nice topline. Well low set on tail, carried well. Moves true. Best Special Beginners.

2nd. Caulfield’s CONSTELLA VEGA LUMINOSA

Tri bitch with jet black coat. Perfect size, not quite the front of one but nice topline. Very attentive to owner. Moves ok.

Bitches

Vet. Bitch (2,0)

1st. Lusty’s CH. BLAMORDER ICE CREAM DREAM VW

9 yr old BM who I have given best veteran in show before. She out moved all the girls today apart from her daughter. Dreamy expression coming from nice eye size and shape, slight well-placed stop, and ears well used. Fabulous shape and size coming from perfect angulation. Perfect length to height ratio. Moved true coming and going, and kept her topline going around the ring. Res CC

2nd Flower’s CH BRECKAMORE BUTTERFINGERS shCM shCEx

Unlucky to meet one today, a worth champion. Love her head and those ears, perfect. Again, so well put together, maybe a little longer than one but correct angulation front and back. Moved really well just not as fluent as one.

Puppy (No entries)

Junior (2,0)

1st Benton & Bemelmans’ BLAMORDER DOUBLE OR QUITS OF OAKESTELLE.

Cracking BM bitch, such a fabulous colour. Head has a lovely length, with kind expression just needs to fill out some more. Uses her ears well which are nicely tipped. Good length of neck, nice front angulation, nice bone and perfect spring of pastern. Excellent spring and depth of rib. Smart topline, lovely turn of stifle, good hocks. Moved out well, with nice drive.

2nd Davies-Brown BLAMORDER I DREAMED A DREAM AT WYSTRY

Tri girl, she has a nice head, very feminine. Lovely tight ears. Similar to one but a little rangier and needs time to mature on. Moved ok.

Post Grad (3,0)

1st Cole & Fort’s SHULUNE IMPERIAL RUM PUNCH JW

Lovely tri. At 18mths coming together nicely. Good angulation, fore and aft, but for me would like a touch more loin length. Beautiful head, with nice parallel lines, sweet eye. Perfect ears used continually. Moved well coming and going.

2nd BLAMORDER I DREAMED A DREAM AT WYSTRY

3rd CONSTELLA VEGA LUMINOSA

Limit (1,0)

1st. Rodgers’ BLAMORDER HIGH BROW TAF

This tri lady is very sound but full of herself. Another well put together. Lovely topline and one with a perfect underline too. Can be a little proud of her tail when on the move but when settled moves well.

Open (3,0)

What a lovely class, three top class bitches I was spoilt for choice.

1st. Sweeny & Lusty’s CH BLAMORDER DO QUITE NICELY AW(B)

BM bitch. Another I have done well in the past giving her best in show, I said then she was just coming into her own, well on today’s performance couldn’t be denied the top spot in bitches, a shame she had to challenge a dog on top form for best of breed. Such a quality bitch, with a gentle expression coming from a lovely shaped and sized eye, a correct stop, lovely feminine moulding and well used ears. Long neck, front and rear in perfect balance. Comes into her own on the move, free moving, true coming and going. Bitch C.C

2nd Denton’s CH BRECKENHAYE HEART AND SOUL

Lively tri bitch. Every inch the champion she is. Out of coat today making her look a little slim. Very well balanced with good length of loin. Moved to perfection.

3rd Benton’s CH BRACKENHAYE QUEEN OF HEARTS OF OAKESTELLE.
