Jack Russell Terrier Club

Breed: Jack Russell Terrier

Special Awards Classes

Junior D/B

This was a challenging class to judge, with a broad age range and lots of potential.

1. Shadlisa Dream Girl, A very smart young bitch, feminine head with a keen expression, dark almond shaped eyes, flat in skull with a good ear set and used her ears well. Strong and clean in neck, well laid shoulder and strong level topline, good spring of rib and easily spannable, enough bone and compact neat feet, well-muscled hind quarters, balanced both stranding and on the move and finished with a good weather proof coat, won the class on maturity and her effortless ground covering movement.

2. Locheil You Win My Love Forfarian, another promising puppy, feminine head and expression, dark almond shaped eye, not as neat in her ears and lacked a bit of confidence, balanced outline and level topline, good spring of rib and spans easily but carrying a bit too much weight over her loin. Well boned with neat feet and a good weatherproof coat, she moved well with a good tail action.

3. Laserna’s Imagine Dragons in Cooperland, my apologies again for not critiquing your dog in the ring, there is a lot to like about this young dog and he pushed the first two hard, he just needs to settle down and show himself off to his advantage.

Post Grad D/B

1. Jackpack Picture Perfect, feminine bitch with a keen alert expression, she has excellent pigment with dark expressive eyes, flat skull and well-set ears that she uses well. Strong clean neck into well laid shoulder, good bone and neat feet, good spring of rib and easily spanned with well-muscled hindquarters. She is presented in excellent hard condition with a good weatherproof coat, moved well with lots of ring presence and really covering the ground, very balanced in profile movement.

2. Tilser Cherry Blossom, nice young bitch, she has a sweet feminine head with dark, almond shaped eyes and neat ears, strong neck that flows into a level topline, good spring of rib and easily spanned, good angulation and well balanced both standing and on the move. Shown in good condition with a good weatherproof coat, moved well but not the ring presence of the winner.

3.Jackopeaks Peaches Legacy, another nice bitch, feminine head and a keen eye with an alert expression, small ears but flying them today and seemed a little unsettled. Straight front with good bone and small compact feet, good spring of rib and easily spannable. Shown in excellent hard condition with good coat, unsettled on the move and not quite the balance of the others.

Open D/B

1. Kulawand White Diamond JW, very smart young dog, good head with appealing dark eyes and a keen expression, neat well-set ears, that he used well, clean strong neck into well laid shoulder and strong level topline, well-muscled hindquarters, good spring of spannable rib, strong bone with neat feet, he is presented in excellent hard condition, which showed on the move, covering his ground with well co-ordinated reach and drive.

2.Kulawand Wicked Whisper at Jackpack, older sister to my winner and similar in lots of ways. She has a keen expression with flat skull and neat ears that she uses well, strong clean neck and well laid shoulder, level topline and strong well angulated hindquarters, carrying a bit too much condition over her loins but still easy to span. Unfortunately, she let herself down on the move by pulling away up and down the mat but looked balanced in profile, with good reach and drive.

3. Blazingjacks Best Mate with Jackopeakes, same sire as the other two and you can see where he has stamped his type, but not the same balance of the other two. Mature dog with a good head, dark pigment and expressive eye, small ears but unfortunately didn’t use them to his advantage, strong neck into well laid shoulder, strong front assembly, mature body with a well-presented weatherproof coat and shown in excellent hard condition, hindquarters not as angulated and he was distracted on the move.
