Thanks to the Brittany Club for your kind invitation to judge at this show and to the exhibitors who entered their dogs under me. I was delighted with my quality entry and had a lovely day judging, thank you to the committee for your hospitality and my steward Peter for looking after me, also for my bag of goodies to take home, what a fabulous venue and nice weather too.
Class 1: Baby Puppy D/B (1,0)
1st ASTRID DE LA RIVIERE OUAREAU FOR CALLMILLARD NAF, what a sweet baby, she is very promising, lovely head and expression with good pigment, nice clean neck and straight topline, good bone and lovely compact feet, well bodied for her age and moved well. BBP
Class 2: Minor Puppy D/B (1,0)
1st ROCHUS ALIZEE, another promising young bitch puppy, lovely head and alert expression with her dark eye and high set ears, moderate and clean neck into well set shoulders, deep chest with well-rounded rib cage, moderate angulation and enough bone, compact feet, moved with a short brisk stride, still needs to tight up and mature, but one to watch for the future and pleased to award her BPIS
Class 3: Puppy Dog (No Entries)
Class 4: Junior Dog (No Entries)
Class 5: Novice Dog (3,0)
1st VIRGILE DE LA RIVIERE OUAREAU (IMP FRA), he is larger than some, but lots to like on this dog, his worried expression spoils his head, hopefully that will improve when he settles down, he has clean moderate neck, well ribbed body with good bone and compact feet, needs to settle on the move.
2nd PATOUCHE UTRILLO, liked his compact outline, good head and expression, short ears, little short in neck but strong topline, well ribbed body and short coupled, moderate angulation, little light in bone, in good coat and condition just let himself down with his movement.
3rd HAWKWISE UNSUNG HERO
Class 6: Graduate Dog (No Entries)
Class 7: Post Graduate Dog (1,0)
1st JAYRICNBRITS UPTOWN BEAT, very raw looking young dog, he has a nice head and expression, medium length neck and good topline, lacked depth and spring of rib, but was short coupled, good bone and small compact feet, moved well with a short brisk stride.
Class 8: Limit Dog (3,0)
1st JAYRICNBRITS UTHER AT BRAEBRITS, attractive young tri, liked his head with dark expressive eye, strong neck, well sprung ribs and good depth of brisket, good bone and compact feet, moderate angulation, challenged his handler but moved ok when settled.
2nd ROCHUS TAKE ACTION, not the biggest, this dog has a lovely head, correct proportions with a dark expressive eye and high set ears, strong neck and well sprung ribs, moderate angulation, ok for bone but feet need to tighten, moved soundly.
3rd MALIIK TEAM DEL CREPO (IMP SRB)
Class 9: Open Dog (2,0)
1st SH CH BONAPARTIST PICKPOCKET, a worthy champion and a great ambassador for the breed, he fits the standard well. Attractive typical head on this dog, shown in excellent coat and hard muscular condition, he moved well in profile, well presented as always.
2nd SH CH MINAMA UNFORGETTABLE AT STONESVIEW (IKC), liked his head proportions, correct ear set, clean neck and strong topline, moderate angulation with good bone and compact feet, needs to tighten up in front movement and mature in body to complete the picture.

1st SH CH/CZE CH BONAPARTIST PEAKY BLINDER AVEC AUKSKARA ShCEx, correct head proportions on this dog, high set ears with dark expressive eye, clean medium length of neck, compact well ribbed body, enough bone and compact feet, a true showman, he was handled to perfection to get the best out of him, standing and on the move, pleasure to award him the CC and RBIS
2nd HAWKWISE UNSUNG HERO very raw young dog, moderate angulation with the frame to fill into, enough bone and compact feet, moved ok but needs time.
3rd WITHDRAWN
Class 11: Sp. Open Dog (Any Other Colour Except Orange/White) (4,0)
1st BONAPARTIST SOLDIER BLUE WITH JAYRICNBRITS, loved his head and expression, dark eye, well set on ears, deep chest and well-rounded ribs, moderate angulation with good bone, spoils himself when stacked as tends to drop his neck and shoulders, held a better topline on the move.
2nd BONAPARTIST TROOPER OF STONESVIEW, another attractive tri from the same kennel, heavier in head and expression with a deep stop, well sprung ribs and good depth of brisket, strong bone, preferred the squarely built, cobby appearance of the winner.

1st ROCHUS TAKE ACTION, 2nd in Limit
2nd JAYRICNBRITS UPTOWN BEAT, 1st Post Grad
Class 13: Veteran Dog (2,0)
1st SH CH HIGHCLARE ONLY ONE AVEC TAILLISIDE (AI) JW, a dog I have admired for a long time, he epitomises the breed standard, squarely built and nothing exaggerated still looking in tip top condition, I have awarded him top honours before, but today he was just pipped to the post and had to settle for the RCC and BV. Well handled.
2nd SANBOSIER NEVIS, very typical dog, nice head expression, a little shorter in neck than 1, square in outline, good spring of rib, short coupled with good bone and excellent small compact feet, not as good on the move as the winner.

Class 20: Post Graduate Bitch (2,0)
1st ROCHUS SEA HOLLY, not the biggest here today, but very feminine head and typical expression, would prefer a bit more length of neck, but she has well sprung ribs and good depth of brisket, moderate bone and a good coat, moved well to take this class.
2nd ROCHUS UNIQUE ELSA, she has a lovely head and expression, well set on small ears, moderate neck and dense coat, well sprung ribs, moderate bone, rather rangy in her frame and needs to tighten up and settle on the move.

1st JAYRICNBRITS UNCTIOUS AT BRAEBRITS, smart typical young bitch, squarely built with good bone and compact feet, well proportioned head, good ear set and alert expression, strong moderate neck, well sprung ribs and good depth of brisket, shown good coat and condition, moved well to take this class.
2nd UMIKA DE LA RIVIERE OUAREAU (IMP FRA) rangier than my winner and still looking a bit raw, nice head but would have preferred a darker eye, moderate length of neck, strong topline, well sprung ribs, good bone, feet need to tighten, not as positive on the move.
Class 22: Open Bitch (1,0)
1st SH CH BONAPARTIST TRUFFLE, very nice bitch, correct head proportions and ear set, loved her dark eye and expression, well sprung ribs, good coat but carrying a bit too much condition, moderate angulation, just couldn’t match the movement of my top awards in the challenge.

1st SH CH MINAMA USHER OF BONAPARTIST (IKC) very nice bitch. Lovely head and expression, strong neck and topline, moderate angulation, well sprung ribs, good bone and compact feet, not as cobby as some but one of the best movers here today, shown in good hard condition, well-handled to the CC and BIS

1st SH CH PESH DI VAL GROSSA OF BONAPARTIST (IMP ITA) lovely mature bitch, well balanced head with dark expressive eye, strong neck, well sprung ribs with good depth of brisket, strong topline with broad well-muscled hindquarters. Moved well and pushed her kennel mate hard, just had to settle for the RCC
2nd SPRITE DE LA RIVIERE OUAREAU NAF, liked her cobby appearance and alert expression, strong neck and body with well sprung rib, moderate angulation, would prefer a little more bone but she has correct, small compact feet, good coat and condition but needs to settle on the move.

1st ROCHUS OCEANA smaller compact bitch, nice head and expression, strong neck and topline, well sprung ribs, short coupled, moderate angulation, little light in bone with small compact feet, moved well.
Class 29: Brace
1st Mr & Mrs Jones, a lovely matched pair of B/W they complemented each other well and moved in unison, one of the best-behaved brace I have ever judged, well handled.
2nd Mr Hayes & Mr Wilson, this brace of O/W dogs were very distracted by the smells on the carpet, they are well matched in size and bone, well done.
