Day 1

YKC Hound (14 Entries) Abs: 8

1st: Kirkwood-Emery’s Marvale Rosefinch At Helydon. Dachshund (Miniature Smooth). 2 years old, Red B. Lovely, feminine head with intelligent expression. Presents a good outline. Her front is well made with excellent forechest and ribbing. Secure topline. Moved very well.

2nd: Freudenreich’s Ch Rangali Shimmy Jimmy. Basset Fauve De Bretagne. D. 3 years. Liked his proportions. Appealing head portrays an alert expression. Clean well-proportioned front and rear angulations. Good body. Harsh dense coat.

3rd: Jones & Moes’s Cwmdarhian Gordon Ramsay.

YKC Terrier (10 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Mitchell’s Rhianne Foxfur Espionage For Rodzina. PRT. 12 months. D. One I have judged before and given honours. Fabulous expression from dark eyes. Good for neck and shoulders. Spanned well. Strong, short loin. Super balanced outline. Moves with reach and drive. I heard afterwards that earlier in the day, he had been awarded the CC & BOB under Terrier expert, Paul Wilkinson. Many congratulations!

2nd: Kenwright’s Lemajac Billy The Kid. 11 months. D. Handled competently. Liked his head shape and proportions. Eyes with keen expression, well placed ears. Correct layback of shoulder. Neat front assembly, good rear angulations. Secure level topline. Tail is set well. A promising youngster.

3rd: Wynter & Satherley’s Lakkas Yankee Sweet Silkcroft (Imp Swe) JW.

Day 2

YKC Gundog (9 Entries) Abs: 5

1st: Wareham & Dunstan’s Maursett Melwyn, Spaniel (Clumber), 4 years. Quality dog for breed type and outline. Wide skull. Kind eyes; square muzzle. Well bodied and of impressive bone and substance. Well ribbed. Large, well-shaped feet. Good coat and condition. Effortless on the move.

2nd: Hardy’s Cottonstones Evergreen With Cafotaliena. Gordon Setter. B. 6 years. Pleasing head of correct proportions. Narrow front, with straight flat bone. Good neck; strong loins. Moderately padded feet. Impressive on the move but tail was carried higher than ideal. Presented in good condition and handled well.

3rd: Worgan’s Braccorion's Corrr Blimey.

Day 3

YKC Pastoral (5 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Johnson & Walker’s UK Ch Int Ch Fr Lux / Swiss Ch Tooralie Pie In The Sky. Shetland Sheepdog, 6 years. From first impressions, I guessed he was special. Super coat and colours. Loved his head for balance and expression; beautiful eyes and ears well set contributing to his lovely expression. Well-constructed throughout. Graceful, accurate mover.

2nd: Graham-Weall’s Dinmore Making Waves At Lavika. 3 years B. Shetland Sheepdog. Sadly out of coat. Feminine head with semi erect ears, almond shaped obliquely set eyes. Good neck. Deep well sprung ribs, secure top line with gradual slope of croup. Moved and handled well.

3rd: Graham-Weall’s Just For Alex From Lavika.

YKC Working (4 Entries) Abs: 0

Well contested class.

1st: Kent’s Lyfearon Off With Her Head Sh CEx. Siberian Husky. B. 4 years. Impressive feminine profile when standing. Liked her well chiselled head, eyes and ear placement aiding a pleasing expression. Good for neck; strong topline and body is well ribbed. Strong hindquarters. Moved effortlessly and in the final ‘go around’ which influenced a close decision over 2.

2nd: Slack, Newton & Williams’s, Ch Rarjo Macduff Making Waves With Megulcie JW. Portuguese Water Dog. 2 years. B. For overall balance, she looks a picture when standing. Appealing, feminine head, lovely ears; strong dentition. She is so well put together her movement was sound and careful. Close call.

3rd: Hooley’s Bartkennels Ljosalfar.

Day 4

YKC Toy (4 Entries) Abs: 3

1st: O'leary & Rutherford’s Haselorhill First Edition From Mopszawawa JW. Pug. D. 18 months. Stood alone which was a pity. In good coat and condition. Large head with plenty of wrinkle giving a soft but masculine expression. Dark eyes. Good nostrils. Straight front, good for shoulders, spring of rib and topline. Moved well.

YKC Utility (10 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: Parker, Saunders and McDonald’s Risepark First Stage. 15 months Miniature Schnauzer, D. 15 months. Lots to like here. In super jacket. Dark eyes, high set ears with correct furnishings; good dentition. Well laid neck; impressive angulated forequarters. Well bodied; good depth of chest and spring of ribs. Moved very well.

2nd: Rollinson & Manners, Ch Ir Ch/Jnr Ir Ch Summerhaze Shafran Among Chadbower. 4 years. Schipperke. Liked his cobby outline. Attractive expression from head which contains lovely eyes for shape and colour. Ears well set on and used to advantage. Moderate length of muzzle and scissor bite. Well angulated front and rear; stands on good feet. Steady mover.

3rd: Dawson’s Kamarri Born To Be Wild At Achara.
