Darlington Dog Show Society Ltd

Breed: Leonberger

Thank you to the exhibitors and my super steward, who kept the ring flowing single handedly. Found the depth of quality stronger in the bitches today, with some lovely girls just missing out of top honours. Presentation varied, and sadly some dogs were very dirty and knotted. Temperaments were excellent.

VD (1) 1. LEAR-SCHOFIELD’s Ch Alfross Kapuko Haruki, Impressive dog, well boned, and shown in super coat. Rich colour with extensive black tipping. Pleasing proportions in outline, well defined withers. Strong masculine head, skull & muzzle balanced, dark oval eye. Angulation defined and balanced, good ground covering stride, and clean coming/going. PD (1) 1. LEAR-SCHOFIELD’s Expressive Bizu Grande Leonis, good size, well boned to round feet. Correct body proportions, strong neck, could have slightly more angulation. Attractive head with good mask, good length of skull and depth. Chest well developed for age. Movement typical for age, BP. JD (3) 1. BODLE’s Debbollinby Time Lord By Lionsridge, well grown, correct bone for size. Not in his best jacket but does mean can see construction. Good angles and strong topline. Powerful on the move, with good ground cover, and correct drive. Attractive head, large nose and dark oval eye, ears set on high. Head well proportioned, RCC. 2. BURRELL’s Kalizmar The Hitch Hiker, stands on well boned legs, a shade square in profile to winner. Prefer a little more angulation at rear. Attractive head, well developed for age, with dark eye, ear set could be higher. Attractive masking, skull & muzzle well balanced. Moved well in profile and clean in front, just felt winner had more drive. 3. SIMMONDS’ Skjaergaardens Dance Monkey Dance (imp Nor). PGD (5,1) 1. Debbollinby Time Lord By Lionsridge. 2. JACKSON’s Lunahai Like A Hurricane For Reveraki impressive dog on stand, found him slightly longer in back which gives him a slightly weak top line. Well angulated, strong muscular neck with good arch. Attractive dark mask, head not as developed as winner. He is not yet two, and so still has some maturing in body to do, especially chest. Moved well in profile but needs to be more positive in front. 3. MCKENZIE & ANSELL’s Gisabosie Skyblu Egilsay. LD (1) Absent. OD (4) 1. THOMAS & STUDHOLME’s Amathus Karmer, impressive dog, shown in super coat and excellent presentation. Strong boned legs to tight feet. Correct in outline with firm topline to broad rump and well set tail. Good angles front and rear, with muscular neck. Very good on the move, covering ground with good length to stride and rear drive. Attractive head, good length throughout, with skull & muzzle balanced, high set ears, stop defined. Correct muzzle, with slight roman nose and good width. DCC. 2. BODLE’s Ch Fairy Clocks Bonus Catch The World Into Lionsridge, pleasing in outline, deep in chest and just longer than tall. Well boned legs to tight feet. Firm back. Tends to have very heavy mane which can make him look stuffy in neck. Masculine head, well set ears, good length of muzzle with large nose, dark eye. Moved cleanly in all directions. 3. SIMPSON’s Purple Rain Chico Valuer At Dacfolke (imp Pol)

VB (1) 1. WESTWOOD’s Ch Amathus Especially For You Jocolda JW, stood alone, but she is a cracking bitch, for me excels on the move, with very good ground cover and cleanness. She is well balanced and her moderate angles and neck length contribute to this movement. Good size and bone but not at all coarse. Attractive head, good balance of skull and muzzle, super eye, defined stop and skull curving slightly. Show in excellent condition and presentation, RCC & BV PB (3,1) 1.JONES’ Bavaruki Cilantro, well grown, balanced in outline with good proportions and firm topline. Good angles front & rear. Attractive in head, balanced lengths and good strength of muzzle. Dark eye. Little wide in chest at the moment. Moved well for puppy. 2. BELL & BEDDIS’ Kjalarnes Universal Dream, good size but much finer in bone and body. Good angles and length of neck. Head still to develop but should come as she matures. Attractive mask and lovely dark eye. Very much a baby and rather erratic on the move. JB NO ENTRIES. PGB (2,1) 1. LEAR-SCHOFIELD’s Kinglords Miss Selene At Alfross (Imp Fin), good size bitch, well boned legs to lovely tight feet. Shown in super coat and presentation. Firm top line. Just enough neck with moderate angles. Chest still to develop. Really like her head, good strength without being overdone, correct balance, and classic roman nose. Well placed ears and dark eyes. Covers ground well and good coming & going. LB (3) 1. WEAVER’s Simden Maida Girl Like You, caught my eye when first reviewing the class, she has substance with the correct amount of elegance. Correct 9:10 proportions, with good depth to chest and firm topline to a sloping croup with tail of good length. Excellent presentation and just enough coat, with well feathered legs. She has good angulation and a good length of neck. Well-muscled throughout. Feminine in head, with good length to skull and muzzle, dark oval eye and well-set ears. She excels on the move with great ground cover from super reach and firm drive, BCC & BOB. Delighted to hear that this was her 3rd CC. 2. SIMPSON’s Simberger Perfect Blend JW, attractive in outline, with correct proportions. Firm topline. Found her a little broad in chest which affected her movement. Good head – well-proportioned and with attractive mask and overlay. 3. HEGINBOTHAM’s Sulandi Fallen Angel JW. OB (5) 1. WESTWOOD’s Ch Hillhaven Your A Heartbreaker, well boned bitch, standing on tight feet, correct proportions in outline. Very marked angles, with good length of neck. Attractive head – balanced lengths to muzzle & skull and high set ears. Dark oval eye. Excellent presentation. Moved soundly in all directions and considered for top honours, but not quite the extension in profile as my CC/RCC. 2. COLE’s Ch Simden Born To Boogie JW, another quality bitch, not quite the strength of bone as winner, but has enough. Correct angulation and reach of neck. More moderate in depth of chest than winner, and not quite the coat of the winner. Strong but feminine head, with slight rounding of skull and well set ears. Super eye and attractive mask. Moved well but preferred drive of winner. 3. STUDHOLME’s Ch Leosrus Roksanda To Kalizmar
