Northern Schnazuer Club – Giant Schnauzer

Championship Show 15/11/2025

My sincere thanks to the Officer and Committee of Northern Schnauzer for the opportunity to judge the Giants at this, their 43rd Championship Show. The halls were a little chilly but there was certainly a warm and friendly atmosphere. Lots of quality here today, temperaments were generally excellent with just two babies needing a little more practice. Presentation was also excellent and the vast majority were shown in good muscular condition. Many thanks to my excellent steward.

 Dogs

 Baby Puppy

1 Veal’s Philoma Houdini. A really smart youngster, mature in both body and attitude. Masculine, strong head with neat, well-carried ears. Nicely arched neck with good shoulders and some forechest. Good depth of brisket. Well angulated hindquarters. Presents a pleasing outline both on the move and when stacked. Free moving and sound.

 Junior

1 Willetts’ Philoma The Professional. Good skull and a keen, alert expression as he makes good use of his neat ears. Strong, arched neck and good forehand with neat, well-padded feet. Short, strong topline. Strong, well-angulated hindquarters. Very free moving with some drive from the rear.

2 Parker’s Draxpark Big Reveal. Just over 12 months of age and he has lots to commend him. Really pleasing to handle as he has a pleasing head with lovely dark eyes. Big strong teeth. Good breadth and depth of chest with well-developed sternum. Harsh jacket. Very good profile action but just a tendency to pace at times.

 Limit

1 Willetts’ Philoma The Professional

 Open

1 Houchin’s Philoma Simon Templar at Barnsdale. CC & BOB. An impressive dog, masculine, imposing and strong. Hansome, well-proportioned head with dark eyes, good ears and big nostrils. Excellent forehand with nicely arched neck and decent forechest. Well ribbed with some strength over the loins. Muscular, well-angulated hindquarters. Moved soundly with some vigour. Harsh jacket presented to best advantage.

 Champion

1 Descere, Desceras & Pearce’s Ch Stablemaster’s Twist. Reserve CC. Strong, masculine head with an alert expression. Strong, clean neck and well laid shoulders. Good breadth and depth of chest. Well ribbed. Well angulated hindquarters and shown in good muscle tone. Very positive hind action with drive and in profile he is impressive. Good jacket.

Compact, well padded feet. Well ribbed with some strength over the loins. Free moving and shown in first class order.

 Veteran

1 Staples’ Ch Riesenheim Taio Cruz to Ruffhaus. Best Veteran. Beautifully balanced and absolutely typical. Grand head and expression. Good breadth and depth of chest with definite forechest. Good bone, legs and feet. Shown in a good jacket. Free moving.

 Bitches

 Baby Puppy

1 Killingback’s Figosky Wake Me Up at Novavitez. Rather raw and still very babyish and a little overawed by the noise in the halls. Well balanced and quite sound and free moving. Once she settled there were little glimpses of her using her tail and ears and more practice indoors will stand her in good stead for the future.

 Minor Puppy

1 Killingback’s Figosky’s Star Anise. Like her kennelmate, she too was a little overawed by the noise in the hall. Well balanced and quite shapely. Harsh, wiry jacket. Well angulated.

 Puppy

1 Clayton’s Dreamcatcher De Barba Negra at Northdrum. Best Puppy. I liked her head, it’s a good length and her neat ears are well set and carried. Keen expression. Big nose pad. Good depth of brisket and well ribbed for age with a strong topline. Good hindquarters. Moved out well with some drive apparent.

 Junior

1 Griffin’s Philoma When Harry Met Remy. CC & Reserve BIS. Scored here with her very good hind angulation and powerful driving action. Grand head with alert expression, good dentition and large, open nostrils. Nicely arched neck with well-laid shoulders and good depth of brisket. Powerful yet feminine and unexaggerated.

2 Parker’s Draxpark Rave Review. A nicely made youngster who has lots of quality. Excellent jacket. Head of good length and pleasing expression. Good forehand with defined forechest and good legs and feet. Well ribbed with strong loins and good topline. Moved soundly.

 Limit

1 Fish and Moss’ Riesenheim Moon River. Reserve CC. Like the CC winner she is both Strongly made and feminine. Clean, lengthy head with a keen eye and neat ears. Excellent neck and shoulders. Good depth and breadth of chest with some forechest and good ribbing. Particularly good hind action with power and force. Shown in a harsh, well-tailored jacket.

 Open

1 Parker’s Draxpark Celebrity Chase. A lovely character! Moved very well both out and back and in profile. Good head proportions but just a little reluctant to use her ears. Well laid shoulders, good bone, legs and nicely padded feet. Strong, well angulated hindquarters. Excellent jacket.

 Champion

1 Veal’s Ch Philoma American in Paris. Appealing head, dark eyes and keen expression. Muscular, nicely arched neck and good breadth and depth of chest. Well ribbed body with strong loins and well set tial. Nicely angulated and impressed on the move.
