I was slightly disappointed last time I judged the breed particularly with the hind movement. Very impressed this time around with the quality of the Jack Russell Terriers both in uniformity of type and movement. Class 1893. Puppy Dog 4 typey youngsters. Entries: 4 Absentees: 0 1st Place 5148 - Laserna Captain Crash (Mr A & Mrs L Jones). Presents a good outline. Flat skull; neat, well-carried ears. Good topline and high set tail. Free moving, could have a little more drive from behind and good front action. Best Puppy. 2nd Place 5154 - Locheil Rock This Country (Mr S, Miss A & Mrs H Mackay, Macdonald & Turner). Nicely balanced with a keen, alert expression. Slightly untidy coming back to me but good hind action. Good topline with thick, high set tail. 3rd Place 5139 - Laserna Valentino (Mr Gj Gray) Class 1894. Junior Dog Entries: 2 Absentees: 0 1st Place 5144 - Pentatty Baga Chipz (Ms A Horwood). A real eye-catcher as he is smart and shows to advantage. Good head with neat ears and strong mouth and jaw. Good forehand with some forechest and dedent depth of chest. Spannable and shown in a good jacket. Impresses on the move. 2nd Place 5138 - Pentatty Elektra Fence (Mr N Fiddes). Smart and many of the remarks above apply here. Not quite the forehand of the winner but excellent topline and tailset with plenty of dog behind the tail. Class 1895. Post Graduate Dog Entries: 3 Absentees: 0 1st Place 5130 - Reulemill Quacajack (Misses L & J Addoo). Smart and workmanlike and shown in a good jacket. Pleasing, masculine head, clean neck and shoulders with apparent forechest. Covered the ground well with an easy, free gait. 2nd Place 5157 - Tiltser Voulez Vous avec Chadbrook (Mr P & Miss J Mccluskey & Young). Pleasing for type, size and balance. Spannable and he is a good showman with a very good topline and tailset. Couldn’t quite match the hind action of the winner. 3rd Place 5169 - Dancing in The Dark at Robythorn (Mr D I & Mrs J A Thornley & Smith) Class 1896. Open Dog Entries: 10 Absentees: 1 1st Place 5159 - Chandlimore Play Boy at Jaeva (Mr A & Mrs K Nagrecha & Tate). Best Dog and BOB and ultimately placed third in the strong Terrier Group. Really well constructed dog, masculine but not coarse and easily spannable. Grand head and expression with strong jaw. Some forechest and excellent topline and tailset. Rounded, muscular hindquarters. On the move he is very impressive with a free driving action in profile and accurate both up and down. 2nd Place 5146 - Twinan High Regard (Miss T J Irving). Reserve Best Dog. Another high quality exhibit. Ultra smart and beautifully balanced. Spannable. Good topline and tailset with strong loin and good ribbing. Sound and very typical on the move. Good jacket. 3rd Place 5133 - Calavey’s Abu (Miss S Donnelly) Class 1897. Veteran Dog Entries: 1 Absentees: 0 1st Place 5171 - Locheil Stop Right There VW (Mr D I & Mrs J A Thornley & Smith). Shown in excellent condition, workmanlike and spannable with a keen, alert expression. Strong, well ribbed body with good topline. Free moving and good both out and back. Class 1898. Special Beginners Dog Entries: 0 Absentees: 0 Class 1899. Puppy Bitch Entries: 7 Absentees: 2 1st Place 5175 - Tiltser Mint Velvet (Miss A Witmond). Feminine but with some strength and good muscle tone. Attractive head and keen, alert expression. Excellent topline and tailset with good rump and low set hocks. Moved soundly and freely. 2nd Place 5153 - Locheil Party for Two (Mr S, Miss A & Mrs H Mackay, Macdonald & Turner). Giving away a bit in age here but she too is impressive on the move with a free, co-ordinated action. Pleases for size, type and balance. Promising. 3rd Place 5145 - Jaeva Front Row Seat TAF (Miss A & Mr A & Mrs K Horwood & Nagrecha & Tate) Class 1900. Junior Bitch Entries: 5 Absentees: 3 1st Place 5160 - Chandlimore Rainbow over Jaeva (Mr A & Mrs K Nagrecha & Tate). Very smart and typey and most impressive on the move with her powerful hindquarters covering the ground well. Spannable with good body and level topline and well set tail. Good head and expression. 2nd Place 5168 - Lindcoly Miss Minnie TAF (Miss R Tester). Just 6 months but she has a keen, pleasing expression, good neck and some forechest. Easily spannable, well angulated and she impressed on the move. Class 1901. Post Graduate Bitch Entries: 7 Absentees: 3 1st Place 5163 - Chandlimore Scarlet Ribbon with Jaeva (Ms S, Mrs K and Mr A Rosell, Tate and Nagrecha). Definitely has some quality with her good balance, excellent forehand with some forechest and well-laid shoulders. Good oval ribcage and strong loin. Spannable, sound and free moving. 2nd Place 5143 - Tiltser Cherry Blossom (Mrs S & Mr D Hart). Smart and pleases for both balance and type. Good forehand, strong clean neck which she uses to advantage. Strong topline and well set tail. Moved soundly. 3rd Place 5135 - Jackpack Picture Perfect (Mrs S & Mrs J Evans) Class 1902. Open Bitch Entries: 6 Absentees: 1 1st Place 5155 - Locheil Snow Queen (Mr S, Miss A & Mrs H Mackay, Macdonald & Turner). Best Bitch. A really well made, beautifully balanced bitch who really impressed on the move with a fluid, driving action. Flat skull, good ears and strong jaw. Some forechest and excellent body and ribbing. Strong hindquarters with plenty behind the tail. Presented in first class order. 2nd Place 5167 - Jaeva Blue Moon to Chandlimore (Mrs K & Mr A Tate & Nagrecha). Typey and well balanced with a keen expression, good forehand. Pleasing topline and tailset. Very good profile action. 3rd Place 5162 - Ducklings Jr Just Qutie at Mindlen (Imp Swe) VW (Mrs L & Mrs C A Roberts & Murray) Class 1903. Veteran Bitch Entries: 2 Absentees: 0 1st Place 5149 - Perfect Love Di Sutri at Laserna (Imp Ita) (Mr A & Mrs L Jones). Reserve Best Bitch and Best Veteran. Has lots of quality and presets a perfect outline. Lovely head and expression, Good forehand with clean neck and some forechest. Very good hindquarters with low set hocks which she uses well on the move. Sound and free moving. 2nd Place 5165 - Cumbreck Lady Penelope (Miss K Saich). Not quite the freedom of movement of the winner but lovely clear eyes, strong jaw with good dentition, good rib and body. Friendly and happy temperament. Judge: Tom Mather
