A thoroughly enjoyable assignment. We were allocated a good sized ring and the weather was perfect. Lots of lovely exhibits and I truly thought the breed is in good shape with a great bunch of exhibitors and breeders. I had two excellent, very efficient Stewards.

Class 278. Veteran Dog

1st Place 826 - Ch Buffrey Incognito by Dalleaf JW VW Swiss Vch (Mrs S A & Miss S Neath-Coyne & Baker). Dog CC. Hard to believe that this handsome dog is 10 years of age. Showing no signs of coarseness, he has a lovely flowing outline and is so well balanced. Well marked with an appealing head and attractive expression. On the move he has power and a stride of good length. I learned afterwards that he was my CC winner five years ago. I still think he is an outstanding example of the breed.

2nd Place 806 - Ch Rapanooey Red Rose JW (Mrs J Hopkin). Shown in top form and he too impresses on the move with particularly good hind action. Pleasing masculine and expression. Good depth of chest and has some strength over the loins. I felt the winner was just a little cleaner over the shoulders but this is another top quality dog.

3rd Place 789 - Dalfin Actual Fact ShCEx (Mrs A & Mr M Finlay)

Class 279. Minor Puppy Dog

Entries: 1 Absentees: 0

1st Place 815 - Decoda's Long John Silver von Schunikka (Miss J M Kaal). A handsome, well grown youngster, typey and athletic with excellent forehand, with round bone and compact, well padded feet. Good depth of chest. Once he settled, he moved well. Just a little proud of his tail at the moment.

2nd Place 795 - Shydally Golden Star over Judally (Mrs J S & Mrs J A Green & Sears). Litter brother to Star Gazer and very similar. Presents a lovely athletic, clean outline. He too impresses on the move with a free action. Just needs to firm up in pastern and he too could trouble the best.

3rd Place 832 - Winflash Tom Ford (Mr I, Mrs K & Miss C-L Page)

Class 281. Junior Dog

She didn’t put a foot wrong today and each time I glanced at her she was stood perfectly. Grand head, excellent forehand with round bone and lovely feet. Has depth of chest and well sprung ribs. Good topline with slight rise over the loins and a well set tail. Her footfall was perfect and in profile she has a lengthy stride. Muscular and well spotted.

2nd Place 879 - Ch/Ir Ch Sophtspot La De Da at Belsmard ShCEx (Ms M White). Pushed the winner hard. Reserve CC. Feminine with a lovely head and kind expression. Presents a lovely outline as she is beautifully balanced and she too makes the most of herself with the aid of a clever handler. Good ribbing and strong loin. Well angulated and in good muscular condition, this gave her some drive on the move. A first class exhibit.
