I thoroughly enjoyed judging the breed today. We were blessed with a good sized ring and two excellent stewards. It was very warm and I think the heat did affect one or two exhibits, particularly in the later classes.

Class 493 MPD (2 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1134 DENNIS, Miss S & WAITES, Mrs Alison Svendalens Moon Stone. Smafrt and alert and pleased for both balance and type. Dark, sparkling eye, well set ears. Well ribbed with a decent topline and well-set tail. Very good hind action.

2nd: 1162 SINCLAIR, Miss Janet Gabrielle & TOTHILL, Mrs Juli Tycadno Starburst. Pleasing head and expression with good breadth of skull. Good quality jacket. Still needs to drop into his frame and couldn’t match the hind movement of the winner today.

Class 494 PD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1144 LUCAS, Miss Rosemary Carol & TOBUTT, Mr Ian Anthon Carradine Sir Percival. Best Puppy. I thought he was most promising, moved out well with some drive and his jolly temperament was obvious. Attractive, masculine head and expression. Harsh, double jacket. Good body with decent depth of rib.

1st: 1150 PARKIN, Mrs E R Mosspur Into The Shadows. CC & BOB. A handsome, well-balanced youngster. Grand head with strong jaw and lovely big, white teeth. Moderate neck and good forehand. Deep, well sprung ribs and excellent topline and tailset. Particularly good hind action. Presented in a good jacket and he is a keen attentive showman.

2nd: 1142 LAMB, Ms Josephine & SALTMARSH, Mr Bernard Tycadno Shining Star Around Macmoon JW. Good breadth of skull, neat ears and a pleasing eye. Well bodied with some strength over the loins. Moved soundly with some drive.

3rd: 1148 MUNDAY, Miss S & MUNDAY, Miss E Furythor Reluctant Villain

Class 497 LD (2 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 1143 LUCAS, Miss Rosemary Carol & TOBUTT, Mr Ian Anthon Seveek Country Lad. Typey and nicely balanced with a pleasing, masculine head and keen eye. Well ribbed with level topline and good tailset. Shown in good muscle tone. Could move with a little more drive.

Class 498 OD (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1139 HARRISON, Mrs R A & INETT, Miss D H & BATEMAN, Mrs Carradine My Way Lenny. Reserve CC. Good breadth of skull, clearly defined stop and dark eyes. Very good rib and body with firm topline and pleasing tailset. Moved out well with some propulsion and this gave him the edge here. Good quality, harsh double coat.

2nd: 1135 FELTERS & RUMENS, Messrs A & R A Ch Landbuck Sabrage. Pleasing head and expression, good jaw with strong, white teeth. Decent forehand with good bone and well padded feet. Pleasing depth of rib. Shown in good coat and moved soundly.

3rd: 1146 MUNDAY, Miss S & MUNDAY, Miss E Lentrica Mystic Warrior

Class 499 VD (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1141 LAMB, Ms Josephine & SALTMARSH, Mr Bernard Birselaw Come Dancing With Macmoon OSW JW ShCEx Sh. Shown in good muscle tone and with a lovely harsh double coat. Soundly made all through and pleases for both balance and type. Moved soundly with a free, fluid action.

Class 500 MPB (2 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 1159 SHANNON, Miss B & STORR, MR DANNY Brenndarcy Supertramp. Nicely balanced with a keen, alert expression. Neat ears. Good forehand with tight elbows and good legs and feet. Well bodied for age with good topline . Free moving and sound.

Class 501 PB (2 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 1140 HIAM, Miss Lucy & HARTOP, Ms Diane Carradine Hazel Moon. Reserve CC. A really good moving youngster who had both reach and drive in profile. Attractive, feminine head with some breadth of skull and neat ears. Good depth of rib. Well coated. In the challenge for BP I thought she was perhaps beginning to flag a little so the dog got the nod today.

1st: 1138 FIRTH, Mr Alan & FIRTH, Mrs L & FIRTH, Miss A Glenrood Silent Whisperer At Cairngold. Smallish head with neat ears and some breadth of skull. Good forehand. Feminine and beautifully balanced with an excellent topline and tailset. Sound and typical on the move and shown in a good jacket.

2nd: 1131 BINGHAM, Mrs Jane Ann Carradine Miss Hayley. Smart and very well-schooled, she moved soundly both out and back. Moderate neck, with good shoulders and decent depth of rib.

3rd: 1153 PETTS, Mrs & Mr J & C Doonrae Ultra Violet

Class 503 PGB (5 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1136 FELTERS & RUMENS, Messrs A & R A Landbuck Amethyst. Pleasing to handle as she is well balanced with good body and pleasing depth of rib. Feminine head and expression, very good forehand. Sound and jaunty on the move.

2nd: 1133 CLARKE, Mrs P Furythor Born To Sparkle By Lentrica. Absolutely typical and shown in an excellent jacket. Attractive head and expression, well ribbed body with level topline and good tailset. Particularly good hind action.

3rd: 1137 FIRTH, Mr Alan & FIRTH, Mrs L & FIRTH, Miss A Cairngold Claim To Fame

Class 504 LB (3 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1147 MUNDAY, Miss S & MUNDAY, Miss E Furythor Marvel At Me. CC. I thought she had a real air of quality. Excellent profuse, double coat. Smallish head with good breadth of skull and alert, dark eyes. Very good forehand with good quality bone and decent feet. Well bodied with depth of rib and excellent topline and tailset. Smart and sound on the move.

2nd: 1155 PURVIS, Mrs Daphne Springtime Rose At Mosspur. Smart and good for both balance and type. Decent forehand, well ribbed and shown in good muscle tone. Excellent topline, well-set tail. Really good harsh, double coat.

3rd: 1167 WRIGHT, Mrs Gwynne Brenndarcy Spellbinding For Glennmonte

Class 505 OB (4 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: 1158 SHANNON, Miss B & STORR, MR DANNY Brenndarcy Witches Promise. Pleasing head and expression, good forehand. Moderate neck and good shoulders. Well ribbed but could carry a fraction more weight to advantage. Moved out well with a sound, jaunty, free action.

2nd: 1163 WAUGH, Mrs A Dazzle Me At Tribannon. Not quite the joie de vivre of the winner but typical and beautifully balanced. Good skull and neat ears. Pleasing forehand. Good topline and tailset. Moved soundly.

Class 506 VB (1 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1145 LUND, Mrs Kim Elizabeth & LUND, Mr Trevor Caringold Brandy Snap By Jorvikairn. Hard to credit she is a Veteran, attractive, feminine head with clear dark eyes, excellent mouth with big strong teeth. Good forehand. Deep, well ribbed body. Moved soundly with an easy, fluid action.
