EUKANUBA CHAMPION STAKES
AV Hound/Terrier Champion D/B (34,10)
1. Perkins & Van Der Schaaf’s Ch Creme Anglaise's Entourage with Silkridge (Imp Nld). 15 mth old Whippet bitch. It is no surprise that this girl is a favourite of mine and it was a pleasure to see her close up again today. Several months older she has fulfilled that early promise and she has become the beautiful adult that I had envisaged. A total delight to go over with each part flowing smoothly into the next such is her correct construction. Elegantly arched neck of good length, firm topline with first class ribbing, deep through the brisket, graceful arch over a muscular loin and pleasing croup leading to low set on tail. Totally feminine in head, long and lean as desired with good proportions, dark expressive eyes, rose-shaped ears, good underjaw and scissor bite. Pleasing angles front and rear, standing straight in front on correct feet and with good fill. When gaiting she is accurate when coming and going and has a free, easy length of stride on the go around with correct tail carriage. To complete the picture she has a fine, short brindle coat with white trim and was presented in first class condition. On the final day of the show, this girl was my selection to go forward to the Champion Stakes final early next year.
2. Parsons’ Ch Priorpark Poetry In Motion JW. 2 yr old Rhodesian Ridgeback bitch. Quality girl who presented a super outline and was a delight to get hands on. Strong and muscular, yet retaining femininity, carrying such good bone and so very well handled. Clean neck of good length to balance, firm topline, good depth to chest, correct ribbing which extends well back, muscular loin and tail pleased for set and carriage. Most attractive head with feminine expression; flat skull with breadth between her correctly set ears, eyes of correct colour to correspond with pigmentation, clean fitting lips and scissor bite. Well laid shoulders, elbows close to the chest and stands straight in front on excellent feet and pleased for forechest too. Gaiting freely all through with excellent carriage. Symmetrical ridge of good width.
3. Nash’s Ch Tokaji Moon Over Miami with Mutoko JW ShCEx OSW
AV Working/Pastoral Champion D/B (50,10)
1. Mair’s Ch Macbarra Kickin Up A Storm at Glenauld JW. 3 yr old brindle Boxer dog. This lad was presented with excellent muscle-tone and shown to advantage here. Carrying super bone, he is so good in outline with the best of necks, short back which slopes slightly from clearly defined withers towards the croup, brisket reaches the elbows, excellent ribbing, short loin, correct underline and tail set on high and of good carriage. First class head with masculine expression; good proportions, slightly arched skull, distinct stop, super eye and ear, breadth to muzzle and correct underjaw. Good angles front and rear and impressed on the go around with excellent stride and carriage.
2. Lester & Smith’s Ch Hawksflight Pure Envy with Domburg**. 7 yr old Belgian Shepherd Dog (Groenendael) bitch. Quality girl who was close up to the winner here for me. She presented just the outline I was looking for with slightly arched neck of medium length, short back, good depth to brisket, excellent ribbing, short in the couplings, correct croup and tail of pleasing carriage. Most attractive head with feminine expression; good skull to muzzle proportions, parallel planes, obliquely placed eyes of correct shape and colour, ears set on high, clean through the cheeks and scissor bite. She stands well naturally on super feet and certainly didn’t let herself down when gaiting.

1. Braithwaite’s Ch Wellingley Won For The Road. 14 mth old pepper/salt Miniature Schnauzer dog. One I have done very well for recently and today he still appealed. All male, with strong bone, he is so good to go over and never stops showing. He presents a characteristic outline with slightly arched neck of correct length to give balance, straight topline which slopes slightly towards the rear, deep brisket, ribbing carried well back, nice and short in the couplings and tail set on high. Most attractive head and expression; flat skull which is moderately broad between his excellent ears for size and set, medium stop, dark oval-shaped eyes, strength to muzzle and scissor bite. He is well constructed both front and rear and stands nice and straight in front on very good feet. On the move, he is accurate coming and going and opened up well on the go around with super carriage. Harsh wiry jacket.

Balanced headpiece with lovely detail; broad, flat skull, moderate top, the very best of ears, expressive almond-shaped eyes, untapering muzzle, scissor bite and excellent pigmentation. Soundly built all through and stands true in front on excellent feet and has a lovely forechest too. Gaiting freely both fore and aft and also pleased on the go around.
