1. Blore’s Movalian Ginger Nut. 15 mth old red rough who I thought shows much promise. He appealed for overall type, carries good bone and presented a super cobby outline. Slightly arched neck of correct length to balance, short back, well sprung ribs, nice short loin and tail of good carriage. Masculine head with moderately broad skull between his correct ears, expressive round eyes, definite stop, wide muzzle, excellent nostrils and good underjaw. He stands with width in front and moved freely all through and went particularly well on the go around. Well handled.
2. Butler’s Zilcan Space Cowboy. Another 15 mth red rough and what a lively chap he is! He too pleased in outline and is nice and cobby. Moderate length of neck, firm through the topline, ribbing carried well back, excellent croup and tail set. Pleasing head and expression with good skull, ears set on high, definite stop, super eyes, relatively short muzzle of good width, excellent nostrils and prominent chin. Gaiting freely on the go around with good carriage and pleased fore and aft too but winner had the edge here.

1. Mackay’s Osthaen A Kind of Magic. 2 yr old black/tan smooth who was good to go over and pleased for overall type and balance. Slightly arched neck of medium length, excellent topline, well sprung ribs, short in the couplings, firm croup and tail set on high. Attractive head and expression with moderate breadth to skull, semi-erect ears set on well, dark round eyes which are placed well apart, excellent nostrils, good dentition and prominent chin. Well constructed all through and he stands straight in front on cat-like feet with good width to chest. Gaiting freely all through and moves out with attitude. RCC.
2. Conway’s Stormjac Roland Rat in Black. 2 yr old black rough who has lots to like, appealing for overall type and carrying good bone and substance. Super neck, short back, well sprung ribbing, nice short loin and tail of good carriage but croup not quite that of winner. Quality head with masculine expression; excellent skull, ears of correct set, dark round eyes of good placement in the skull, definite stop, good nostrils and prominent chin. Pleasing angles front and rear and gaiting well but 1 just went that bit better all round. Harsh, wiry coat.
3. Robinson’s Barnfall Unforgettable

1. Blore’s Movalian Firestorm. 2 yr old red rough. Cobby lad who at first glance appeared somewhat shorter in neck but hands on revealed that this was not the case and I’m sure when his coat is fully prepared he would present a better picture. Firm in topline, correct ribbing, deep chest, nice and short in the loin, good croup and tail set but tail more curled than preferred. Masculine head with good skull, pleasing eye and ear, definite stop, muzzle of good width, excellent nostrils, correct dentition and prominent chin. Stands well naturally with width to forechest and when gaiting he was true on the down and back and went pretty well on the go around too.

1. Selby, Allen & Whitehead’s Ch Zilcan Monkey Business. 2 yr old red rough who is all male, full of quality and so good hands on. Excelling for type, he presented a super cobby, square outline with slightly arched neck of correct length, short back with level topline, first class ribbing, short in the couplings, firm croup and tail set on high and of good carriage. Super headed lad with moderate width to his rounded skull, excellent ears, dark round eyes which are set well apart, definite stop, wide muzzle which is relatively short, well-open nostrils, excellent dentition and prominent chin. Pleasing angulation front and rear and he stands with good width in front. Full of his own importance when gaiting and greatly impressed on the go around. Good quality coat and presentation. CC & BOB.
2. Selby, Allen & Whitehead’s Ch Zilcan Action Man. 2 yr old red smooth. Another super lad who impressed when going over. Balanced in outline with slightly arched neck of correct length, short back, correct ribbing, nice and short in the couplings, firm croup and tail set on high. Super head with correct skull, semi-erect ears set on high, good stop, expressive round eyes of good colour, width to muzzle, wide-open nostrils and prominent chin. Soundly constructed all through and he stands true in front on excellent feet and with good width to forechest. Moves well all through with good carriage but winner just had the edge for me.

Best Puppy.
2. Mercer’s Fennymore Drama Puss. 9 mth old red rough who also appealed but she is quite different to the winner. Totally feminine, she presented such a good outline with slightly arched neck of correct length to balance, first class topline, well developed ribbing for age, nice and short in loin, very good croup and tail set on high and of good carriage. Well proportioned head with moderate breadth to skull, ears set high but preferred those of winner, definite stop, dark round expressive eyes, relatively short wide muzzle, good nostrils and prominent chin. Impressive front assembly with width to chest. Gaiting well when viewed in profile but winner had the edge going away.
