1. Lowton-Humphries’ Lumillion Crazy in Love. 8 mth pepper/salt who shows much promise and was good to go over. Balanced in outline with slightly arched neck of good length, short back, good depth to chest, pleasing rib development for age, short in the couplings and tail set on high. Masculine head with good skull, excellent eye and ear, strength to muzzle and correct dentition. Good angles front and rear, stands true in front and pleasing forechest. Good texture to coat and well presented. Despite the heat, he showed himself off to advantage and was well handled.

1. Woods’ Penbro Carbon Copy. Two quite different pups competed in this class with the nod going to this 9 mth old pepper/salt. I thought him a super type and he also pleased hands on. Stylish, sturdily built pup who presented such a good outline with slightly arched neck of correct length to balance, excellent topline, good depth to brisket, short muscular loin and tail set on high. Quality head and expression; correct skull, moderate stop, dark oval-shaped eyes, ears set on high, powerful muzzle and scissor bite. He stands well naturally and pleased in forechest and when gaiting he uses himself fully and has excellent drive from the rear. Super coat and presentation. Best Puppy and pleased to see he later went on to win the Puppy Group.
2. Fones’ Nikisan It's Bean A While at Riveltofs. 9 mth pepper/salt out of a larger mould than the winner but nicely balanced and presented with a super harsh, wiry jacket. Moderately long neck which is slightly arched, firm straight topline, good depth to chest and ribbing carried well back, muscular loin and tail set on well. Balanced headpiece with flat skull, oval-shaped eyes which are dark enough, excellent ears, powerful muzzle and correct dentition. Pleasing angulation both ends and stands nice and straight in front. Moves pretty well all through but not quite profile action of winner.

1. Braithwaite’s Wellingley Won for The Road. 13 mth old pepper/salt who very much appealed. All male, he presented a super outline with the best of necks, firm topline which slopes slightly towards the rear, excellent ribbing, deep brisket, short in the couplings and tail set on high. Super headed lad with strength as required; excellent skull, correct stop, dark expressive eyes, v-shaped ears set on high, strength to muzzle, scissor bite and good furnishings. Soundly constructed all through and stands true in front with a pleasing forechest. When gaiting, he is accurate on the down and back and greatly impressed on the go around, using himself to the max as he goes. Harsh, wiry coat and presented in first class order. CC, BOB & Best Junior and thrilled to see him go on to take Reserve Best in Show.
2. Gill & Tobutt’s Wallensis Look What I Found for Geomondo. This pepper/salt of 14 mths also has lots to like and was well handled here. Nicely balanced with moderately long neck, short back with correct topline for the breed, good depth to chest, ribbing carried well back, short muscular loin and tail set on well. Pleasing head with flat skull, ears of correct set, oval-shaped eyes, powerful muzzle and scissor bite but overall preferred expression of winner. He stands nice and straight in front although angles not quite those of winner but moving pretty well all through.

1. Kirkham’s Gilcoru Lanvin. I thought this a rather varied class and my winner was found in this 15 mth old black. Soundly built lad with pleasing bone and good hands on. Strong neck of correct length to give balance, short back which slopes slightly towards the rear, ribbing extends well back, good depth to chest, nice short loin and tail set on well. Masculine headpiece with flat skull, expressive oval-shaped eyes, ears set on well but a tad bigger than preferred, strength to muzzle and scissor bite. Moves freely on the down and back and carries himself well. Good texture to jacket.

2. Searson’s Traphens Colossus. This 21 mth old pepper/salt was also good hands on but quite different to the winner. He carries more bone and has a super harsh, wiry jacket and was very well handled here. Slightly arched neck of correct length to balance, short back, deep brisket, pleasing rib but croup not quite that of winner. Masculine headpiece with excellent skull, expressive eyes of good colour, neat ears which are set on high, powerful muzzle and correct dentition. He has pleasing angulation front and rear and stands nice and straight in front on compact feet. Moves freely all through but not quite profile action of 1.

1. Jenkins & Crockett’s Havasu in The Black. Black approaching 3 yrs who was pleasing to go over. He has strong bone and was presented with excellent muscle-tone. Slightly arched neck, short back with correct topline, chest of good depth and ribs well sprung, nice and short in the couplings, firm croup and tail set on well. Balanced head with good skull, expressive oval-shaped eyes, ears set on well but a little bigger, medium stop, powerful muzzle and scissor bite. Soundly constructed lad who moved well all through but could have put more effort into the proceedings, however it was a particularly hot day. Well presented coat of good texture.
