1. Watkins’ Int/Esp/Bel/Swiss Ch Albionspitz Blue Moon Jww18 Ww18 Jbw18 Bw18/19 Alpen22. My assignment got off to a very good start with this lovely class of veterans and my winner turned out to be the star of the day! This 7 yr old red ticked all the boxes for me and was an absolute delight to go over. For me, this boy is what I envisage when I think of the breed. He carries good bone and was presented with excellent muscle-tone, is all male and free from any suggestion of coarseness. Super outline with moderate length of neck, straight back, excellent ribbing, short in the couplings and tail correct for both set and carriage. Quality head with dark expressive eyes, ears of correct size and set, parallel planes and scissor bite. Moderate angles front and rear, standing well naturally on nice tight feet. Gaiting freely all through with excellent carriage and making the most of himself at all times. Best Dog, Best of Breed and Best Veteran.

2. Martineau’s Fr/Int Ch Nashoba Des Legendes De Retz Ew Ww. This 7 yr old red was another shown in first class order and was good hands on but he is quite different to the winner. He is all male and carries good bone and is well-muscled throughout. Clean, muscular neck which is somewhat longer than that of the winner, level topline, pleasing rib, firm topline and tail set on high which is of good carriage. Balanced headpiece with flat skull, very good eye and ear, he has a tad more stop, tapering muzzle and scissor bite. Pleasing angulation both ends and stands on good feet but would like to see a tad more width in front. Goes very well on the go around and another who carries himself well.

3. Watkins’ Lumikedon Hiski Hiivio

1. Parsons’ Eliterosess Niffler at Brokinla. 9 mth old red with black overlay. Youngster who shows promise and pleased for overall type and outline. Medium length of neck, level back, ribbing developing well for age, firm loin and tail correct for both set and carriage. Masculine head of good proportions, expressive eyes, correct stop but ears set a little wide apart. Moderately angulated front and rear, standing on tight, oval-shaped feet and he has a pleasing forechest for this stage in his development. Moving out with moderate length of stride.

1. Parkinson’s Kaydanmy Fuel to The Fire. Striking 11 mth old red who is particularly well schooled, solid all through and makes the most of himself at all times. Balanced outline with muscular neck, firm level topline, good depth to brisket, ribbing carried well back, good width to loin, correct croup and tail set on high and of excellent carriage. Well proportioned head with masculine expression, the best of eyes, ears set on well, tapering muzzle and scissor bite. Moderate angles front and rear and stands true on super feet. Gaiting freely on the down and back and also pleased on the go around. Good quality coat. Expertly handled. Best Puppy.

1. Hladkyj’s Tempete Albert Du Royaume Des Terres Gelees. Two very different dogs challenged in this class. My winner was this 2 yr old sable. Not in full coat on the day but scored here on overall type. Neck of medium length, firm level back but I would just like to see a tad more length to balance, moderate spring of rib and tail good for both set and carriage. Pleasing head of good proportions, expressive eyes, ears of correct set when using them, correct stop and scissor bite. Moderate layback of shoulder, sufficient rear angulation and stands on good feet. Pleasing profile action, just a tad closer when going away.

2. Pointon-Rose’s Ultimate Du Monde De Gaomi of Eliterosess (Imp Fra). 2 yr old sable who carries good bone. Muscular neck of sufficient length, firm level back, good depth to chest, pleasing rib, good width to loin and high set tail which he carries well. Head and expression quite different to that of winner; pleasing skull to muzzle proportions, eyes of good colour and correct dentition but ears are placed further apart than preferred. Moderately angulated front and rear and he stands nice and straight in front on tight feet but somewhat rounder. Moving out with moderate length of stride but another who is a little closer in hind action.

1. Parkinson & Dunhill-Hall’s Titan Vormund Des Legendes De Retz Kaydanmy (Imp Fra). A rather varied class with some quite different dogs present. My winner was this 2 yr old red who was shown here to advantage and so good to go over. Muscular neck, firm through the topline, deep brisket with ribbing carried well back, good width to loin, flat croup and tail set on high and of good carriage. Masculine head with good skull to muzzle proportions, oval-shaped eyes which are obliquely placed, ears good for size and set and correct dentition. Pleasing angles front and rear and stands true in front on correct oval-shaped feet. Sound construction becomes evident when gaiting and he is quite something on the go around. Reserve Best Dog.

2. Martineau’s Sargas Des Legendes De Retz Jww. 3 yr old shaded red who is a similar type to the winner and I see they come from the same kennel. All male and carrying good bone and another handled so very well. Muscular neck but with a tad more length, level back, loin a fraction longer, level croup and tail pleased for both set and carriage. Head of good proportions with masculine expression, super eye and ear, correct dentition but stop a little more defined that that of winner. Moderately angulated front and rear and he stands on good feet but could use more width in forechest. Carries himself well on the move and has the correct length of stride for the breed.

3. Strippoli’s Int/Fr Ch Once Upon A Time Ohlins Des Vergers De Cleymes Fr Jch

1. Hladkyj’s Tempete Albert Du Royaume Des Terres Gelees

2. Luckman’s Albionspitz Revel. 3 yr old red who unfortunately wasn’t at all settled on the day. I thought him a pleasing type and he presented a nice outline with neck of medium length, level back, ribbing carried well back, firm loin and high set tail of good carriage. Nicely proportioned head with good planes, expressive eyes, ears of correct set and scissor bite but stop a little more than preferred. Moderately boned and stands on correct oval-shaped feet. Goes pretty well on the go around but would like to see a tad more breadth in front.

1. Galambos’ Hun/Hs/Sk/Int Ch/Hun Gch Fehérparti Arya. This was another class where some very different dogs challenged. My winner was this 8 yr old cream who, although a tad heavy, was pleasing to go over and I thought, a good type. Muscular neck of moderate length, firm level back, deep brisket, good length to ribcage, well-muscled loin and tail correct for both set and carriage. Feminine headpiece of good proportions, distinct furrow, expressive eyes which are obliquely placed, ears good for size and set and correct mouth. Moderately angulated front and rear and stands nice and straight in front on tight oval-shaped feet. Gaiting freely. Profuse coat of good texture.

2. Stafford’s Albionspitz Learn to Fly. 7 yr old wolf red who is similar to the winner in many respects. Another who is a little heavier but she was good to go over and of sound construction. Medium length of neck, level topline, correct ribbing, good width to loin and high set tail which she carries well. Attractive head with good skull to muzzle proportions, correct stop, excellent eye and ear, tapering muzzle and good dentition. Moderate layback of shoulder, elbows close to the body, straight well-boned forelegs and nice tight, oval-shaped feet. Moves out with moderate length of stride and was very well handled here.

3. Pearce’s Albionspitz Diphda

PB (2,1)

1. O’Connor’s Albionspitz Drakaina. Red approaching 11 mths. Casting her puppy coat right now and unfortunately not comfortable being gone over on the day. Of pleasing type with moderate length of neck, firm in topline, ribbing developing well for age and tail set on high. Nicely proportioned head with feminine expression, parallel planes, distinct furrow, dark oval-shaped eyes, excellent ears and good dentition. Standing on tight, oval-shaped feet. On the go around she has the correct length of stride and is nice and true when going away, however front action was very difficult to assess.

1. Watkins’ Albionspitz New Day. 17 mth old red fawn. Another casting coat and somewhat at the teenager stage right now. Moderate girl who appealed for type and presented a pleasing outline with neck of correct length to give balance, level back, ribcage carried well back and ribbing developing nicely, flat croup and excellent tail for set and carriage. Attractive head and expression with super eye and ear, parallel planes, tapering muzzle and scissor bite. Moderately angulated both ends, standing true in front on correct feet but needing to fill out in forechest. She has excellent profile action and self carriage and also pleased on the down and back.

1. Wolfe’s Ta Da Ooh La La Des Legendes De Retz avec Dreamwolves (Imp Fra). Varied class with some very different bitches present. 2 yr old red sable who was shown in super condition. Feminine throughout with muscular neck, albeit a tad longer, excellent topline, correct spring of rib, good depth to chest, well-muscled loin, flat croup and tail correct for both set and carriage. Attractive head with pleasing skull to muzzle proportions, parallel planes, dark expressive eyes which are obliquely placed, ears good for size and set and scissor bite. Pleasing angles front and rear, elbows close to the body and she stands nice and straight in front on correct feet. Moving freely all through but would like to have seen her taken at slightly slower pace. Reserve Best Bitch.

2. Grant & Underwood’s Glasir’s Honey Honey. This 3 yr old fawn pleased for overall type and outline. Neck of correct length to balance, firm level back, moderate spring of rib, muscular loin and high set tail which she carries well. Nicely proportioned head, eyes of good colour but a fraction rounder than the ideal, ears good for size and set, lovely dark pigmentation and good dentition. Moderately angulated both front and rear and she stands true in front on tight, oval-shaped feet. When gaiting, she moved out with moderate length of stride and also pleased when coming and going.

3. Martineau’s Uppsala Des Legendes De Retz

OB (4,1)

1. Strippoli’s Fr/Cro Ch Touch of Bailey's 4 Cleymes De Prana Des Loups Ww24. 2 yr old cream. I thought this girl quite lovely. Feminine all through, appealing for type and outline and so good to go over. Muscular neck of correct length to balance, firm through the topline, excellent ribbing, well-muscled loin of good width, flat croup and tail set on high and of good carriage. Most attractive headpiece with feminine expression; good proportions and planes, the very best of eyes and ears, tapering muzzle, lovely dark pigmentation and good dentition. Moderate layback of shoulder, straight forelegs, elbows close to the side, very good feet and muscular hindquarters with moderate bend of stifle and firm hocks. Gaiting with correct length of stride on the go and around with very good carriage. Excellent temperament. Best Bitch and made a good pairing for type and balance with the Best Dog.

2. Saul & Armitage’s Albionspitz Kasha TAF. Pale fawn approaching 3 yrs who is so very different to the winner. Feminine throughout with neck of medium length, level back, good length to ribcage with moderate spring of rib and tail good for set and carriage. Balanced headpiece with feminine expression; nice dark eyes, ears set on as they should be, dark pigmentation and good dentition. She moves out with a moderate length of stride when viewed in profile and pleased coming towards but was rather close behind. Profuse coat.

3. Saul & Armitage’s Albionspitz Jupiter

GCB (2,0)

1. Pearce’s Albionspitz Diphda. 7 yr old pale fawn who placed 3rd in Veteran and one I recall judging as a youngster. Totally feminine and pleasing for overall type and outline. Neck of correct length to balance, firm in topline, good length to ribcage, muscular loin, flat croup and tail set on high and of good carriage. Head of good proportions and planes, correct stop, excellent eye and ear, nice dark pigmentation and scissor bite. Moderate angulation both ends and she stands nice and straight in front on tight oval-shaped feet but pasterns could be a tad firmer. Moving freely and has pleasing carriage. Would just have liked a touch more bone.

2. Gutteridge’s Albionspitz Imajica. 7 yr old red who placed 4th in Veteran. Unfortunately she wasn’t at all happy about being gone over on the day. Pleasing type with medium length of neck and firm in topline but tail set and carriage somewhat difficult to assess given that she wasn’t using it. Feminine head and expression with good skull to muzzle proportions, dark eyes although a tad rounder, ears correct for size and placement and good dentition. Pleasing angles and she stands well naturally in front and has correct oval-shaped feet.
