1. Paul’s Blondello Charles Xavier JW. Two very different veteran lads challenged in this class. My winner was this 8 yr old white/fawn of standard size who presented a pleasing outline. Muscular neck of moderate length, correct length of back with characteristic roach, well rounded ribcage, short loin and tail set on low. Masculine head with flat skull, round eyes of good colour which are placed low down in the skull, correct rose ears set on high, well rounded cheeks, open nostrils and pleasing width to underjaw. Carrying good bone, he stands on very good feet with excellent width in front and forelegs appearing ‘tacked on’. Moving soundly and well handled here. Best Veteran.

2. Redmond’s Multi Int Ch Baalzebul Himeros Love. 8 yr old brindle/white out of a larger mould who is well off for bone and substance but carrying a touch more weight than would prefer to see. He has a strong, well arched neck, correct roach to topline and low set tail but he’s longer cast overall. Masculine headpiece with correct flat skull, expressive eyes of good colour and placement, well open nostrils, well rounded cheeks and broad underjaw with good turn up. He stands with excellent width in front and is well-muscled in the rear with correct angles and firm hocks. Another well handled.

Quality head with broad flat skull, super eye and ear, correct layback, good nostrils and broad underjaw with good upturn. Excellent front assembly, straight ‘tacked on’ forelegs and stands on such good feet. On the move he went so well when viewed in profile and has an excellent rear.

1. Baker’s Smoochabull Cyrus The Viruss. I liked the first two in this class with my winner found in this 10 mth old brindle/white. Well off for bone, he pleased in outline with muscular neck of correct length to balance, short back with good roach to topline, ribbing well rounded, good underline, nice and short in the couplings and tail set on low. Masculine head with broad flat skull, dark round eyes of good placement, rose ears set on high, very good nostril, well rounded cheeks and breadth to underjaw. He stands with good width in front, has such good feet and is well made in the rear too. Moving soundly.

2. Bellerby’s Jaybelabee Apollo. This 10 mth old white was close up here. He pleased for overall type and outline although just a little higher in the rear right now. Muscular neck of moderate length, brisket well rounded for age, pleasing roach, short loin and good tail set on low. Most pleasing head with good breadth to his flat skull, rose ears, expressive eyes placed low in the skull, excellent nostrils and breadth to underjaw. Good width to chest with straight ‘tacked on’ forelegs. Sound action with particularly strong rear.

He appealed in outline with nicely arched neck of correct length to give balance, short back with good roach, pleasing barrel, short loin and tail set on low. Masculine headpiece which is quite different to that of the winner; good breadth to his flat skull, rose-shaped ears, well rounded cheeks, broad muzzle, correct nostrils and pleasing underjaw with good upturn. PGD (4,2)

1. Lees’ Mellowmood I'm A Lucky Man. 11 mth old white/red. Most promising youngster who was a comfortable winner for me here. I thought him so good for overall type and he pleased hands on too. He is well off for bone and presented a compact outline with well arched neck of moderate length, short back with correct roach to topline, deep brisket which is developing just as it should for age, nice and short in the couplings and tail set on low. Quality head with masculine expression; excellent skull, correct ears set on high and well back, first class eyes, short broad muzzle, well open nostrils and excellent underjaw for breadth and turn up. Good width to chest with straight ‘tacked on’ forelegs and stands on super feet. Moving his width when gaiting and pleased on the go around. Best Puppy.

2. Allen’s Jabrybull Valentino Rossi to Rattray. 18 mth old red/white who is completely different to the winner, being somewhat longer in body and with more length of leg and neck. He has a pleasing ribcage and roach to topline and his tail is set on low as desired. Good breadth to skull, round eyes placed low down in the skull, rose ears, wide open nostrils and good underjaw but preferred overall expression of 1. He stands on excellent feet and has good width in front and is correctly angulated in the hindquarters. Going well when viewed in profile and moves his width in front.

1. Peebles & Kirkwood’s Weebullz Parabellum JW. A rather diverse class which saw this 2 yr old red/white as my winner. Well boned and low in stature, he has a muscular neck of moderate length, good barrel, roach over the loin and tail set on ok. Masculine head with good depth and breadth to skull, flat forehead, rose ears set on high and well back, dark round eyes of correct placement in the skull, well rounded cheeks, short muzzle of breadth, good nostrils and broad square underjaw with pleasing upturn. Chest of good width and depth, straight ‘tacked on’ forelegs and firm, well-muscled hindquarters. Pleasing action on the go around and nice and firm when going away.

2. Paul’s Blondellos Doctor Strange. 3 yr old red/white who is quite different to the winner but with so much to like. He pleased for bone, substance and presented a good outline. Moderate length of neck, short back with good roach to topline, excellent barrel, nice and short in the loin and tail set on low. Skull of good breadth, rose ears set on high but a little larger, eyes of good colour and placement, broad short muzzle, very good nostrils and pleasing underjaw and upturn. He stands well in front with good width and depth to chest and moved well all through. Staining held him back from the top spot today.

3. Avison & Ainsworth’s Boltonbully Captain Morgan

OD (8,1)

1. Anscombe’s Ch Blenhiemstar's Taliesan of Jraygon JW. 3 yr old red/white with great bone and substance who was good to go over. Masculine headpiece with broad, flat skull, rose ears set on high, expressive eyes of good colour and placement, well developed cheeks, short muzzle of good breadth, wide open nostrils and correct underjaw with good upturn to give excellent profile to head. Flat skull of good breadth, rose-shaped ears set on high and well back, dark round eyes placed low down in the skull, pleasing cheeks, broad muzzle, excellent nostrils and width to underjaw with good turn up but not quite profile of winner. Deep chest of good width, straight ‘tacked on’ forelegs, standing on correct feet and firm, muscular hindquarters. Sound on the move and very well handled.

1. Harding’s Wilsonpride It Is What It Is. Red/white approaching 7 mths who obviously enjoys life! Muscular neck, nice short back with correct roach to topline, super ribbing for age, short loin and excellent tail set. Feminine head with good breadth to skull, expressive eyes placed low in the skull, rose ears set on high, short muzzle, wide open nostrils and good turn up to underjaw giving correct layback. She has a super front assembly with straight ‘tacked on’ forelegs. Moving pretty well all through and shows much promise for the future.

1. Griffiths’ Meljane Venice Davik (Imp Esp). Two quite different pups competed here with my winner found in this red/white who is just approaching 12 mths. Totally feminine yet with the desired power and substance of the breed. She presented such a good outline with strong, muscular neck, short back with correct roach, excellent barrel, short in the couplings, good underline and low set tail. Good breadth to her flat skull, ears set on high and well back, dark round eyes of correct placement in the skull, short muzzle, excellent nostrils and good upturn to underjaw. She has good breadth in front and forelegs appear to be ‘tacked on’. Pleasing action on the go around and nice and firm behind. Best Puppy Bitch.

2. McConaghy’s Melafella Miss Behave at Bahookie. White coming up to a year old and although she is quite different to the winner she also pleased. Nicely arched neck of moderate length, short back with characteristic roach, well rounded ribcage and tail set on low but winner had the edge in overall outline for me. She has pleasing breadth of skull, super expressive eyes, well developed cheeks, short broad muzzle, very good nostrils and nice breadth to underjaw which is well turned up giving a good profile. She has excellent width in front and when gaiting she moves her width and is sound when going away.

JB (6,1)

1. Sibbick’s The Crown of the Bulldog Taylor Swift at Treasurabull. The first two here very much appealed but again they are quite different. The nod went to this white/red who is approaching 14 mths. She appealed for overall type and is nice and compact with muscular neck of sufficient length, short back with correct roach to topline, excellent barrel, short loin and tail set on low. Feminine headpiece with flat skull of good breadth, excellent eye and ear, well developed cheeks, wide open nostrils and pleasing underjaw and upturn. Carrying good bone, her straight forelegs appear ‘tacked on’ and she has the best of feet. Gaiting soundly all through.

2. Hanley’s Blenhiemstar I'm On Fire. 15 mth old red/white who was very good hands on. Well arched neck of moderate length, excellent barrel, muscular loin and tail set on low. ‘Sour mug’ expression with a super skull, round dark eyes which are correctly placed, rose-shaped ears, well rounded cheeks, good underjaw and layback but winner just had the edge in overall expression for me. Good width to chest, straight well-boned forelegs and standing on pretty good feet. On the move, she pleased all through and was well handled here.

3. Mayes’ Blenhiemstar Proud Mary at Pectus

PGB (3,1)

1. Connolly & Wiltshire’s Ladymere The Beauty Bybel. 22 mth old brindle/white who was an easy winner here for me. She pleased for overall type, carries good bone and is well balanced. Well arched, muscular neck, short back with correct roach to topline, well rounded ribcage and short loin but tail set and carried a tad higher. Super headed girl with feminine expression; excellent skull, rose ears set on high, dark eyes placed low down in the skull, well rounded cheeks, breadth to muzzle, good nostrils and pleasing upturn to her wide underjaw. Chest well let down between ‘tacked on’ forelegs and standing on very good feet. Moving pretty well all through.

2. Redmond’s Buck And Sons Zelda. 2 yr old red/white who is quite scopey with perhaps more neck than the ‘moderate length’ called for in the breed standard. Pleasing topline, ribbing carried well back and deep in brisket but tail carriage detracted somewhat. Flat skull, rose ears of correct set, eyes of good colour, pretty good underjaw but would like to see more cheek development. Pleasing forechest and she stands with good width.

LB (9,2)

1. Bland & McElligott’s Kingrock Jemima Puddleduck with Leximus JW. The first two here were standouts for me in this class although they really are very different to one another. My choice for first place was this 23 mth old red/white who for me was the overall best package. Totally feminine she presented a pleasing outline with nicely arched neck, characteristic roach to topline, good barrel with ribbing extending well back, muscular loin and tail correct for both set and carriage. She has good breadth to her flat skull, rose ears are set on high and well back, she has the best of eyes, short muzzle of good width and very good underjaw. Straight ‘tacked on’ forelegs and stands on very good feet. Moving soundly with particularly good rear.

2. Briddon’s All About Bulls Mildred of White Blood at Miristar. 21 mth old red/white. Solid girl who is well off for bone, low in stature and presents a compact outline. Muscular neck of moderate length, short back with correct roach, well rounded ribcage, short in the couplings, correct underline and tail set on low. Feminine headpiece yet with correct ‘sour mug’ expression; broad flat skull, excellent eye and ear, well rounded cheeks, short muzzle of good width and super underjaw. She stands with plenty of width in front and has very good feet. Pleasing action all through but just felt winner had the edge.

3. Goddard’s Katie Taylor for Kianspuchi

OB (8,0)

1. Stabile’s Eur/Fr/It Ch Guendalina Di Casa Salento. There were some nice bitches present in this class which gave me much to consider. The eventual winner was this 3 yr old white/brindle who was a delight hands on and soundly constructed throughout. Full of femininity she is nice and compact with muscular neck of correct length to balance, short back with distinctive roach to topline, excellent barrel with ribbing carried well back, short in the couplings and tail set on low. Skull of good breadth, rose ears of correct set, dark expressive eyes placed low down in the skull, breadth to her short muzzle, wide open nostrils and the best of underjaws with good turn up. She stands wide apart in front on excellent feet and her straight forelegs appear ‘tacked on’. CC.

2. Simpson’s Jackarhys Rough Diamond. 2 yr old white/red who is full of quality yet quite different to the winner and having a little more ‘scope’. Unfortunately not entirely relaxed on the day but she did more than enough to garner this placement. Well arched, muscular neck, correct roach to topline, well rounded ribcage which extends well back, firm loin and tail set on low. Feminine headpiece with excellent skull, the best of eyes and ears, well rounded cheeks, short muzzle of good width, well open nostrils and good turn up to her wide underjaw. Impressive front assembly with well-boned ‘tacked on’ forelegs, good feet and firm, muscular hindquarters. Sound both ends when gaiting and my RCC today.

3. Mayes’ Ragmarte Daiquiri at Pectus
