Manchester Dog Show Society

Thank you to the Officers & Committee of Manchester Dog Show Society for the invitation to judge my first set of CCs. Thanks also to my efficient stewards and the exhibitors who gave me the opportunity to judge their dogs. It was lovely to see so many youngsters entered. One unfortunate observation that I feel I must mention is the overall clenli of a number of the exhibits. Tollers are a multipurpose gundog which should not be over groomed, however when in the showing they should be presented in clean coats. 

MPD (2 Entries) Abs: 0 A lovely couple of pups to start off the day! 1st: 1425 THEARLE, Rosettia Helios - 7 month old dog who presented a lovely outline when stood. Correct head for age with high set triangular ears giving him a typical Toller expression. He is balanced with good bone and substance for his age. Moved with powerful drive, and a constantly moving tail. He has time on his side for everything to come together. 2nd: 1415 SHORE, Briztollie I Have a Dream - Appeared more mature than first but only 8 months old. Another medium sized male with a typical Toller head. Still developing in body as he should be at this age. A close decision but just preferred the movement of first today. 

PD (5 Entries) Abs: 1 1st: 1356 BARKER, Coedhelyg Ho Tee Machine - Presented in lovely coat and condition. Shorter on the leg than the second place but again has time on his side. Appealing head and expression, correct almond shaped eyes. Deep chest, well boned legs and tight feet. Positive on the move which won him BPD. 2nd: 1425 THEARLE, Rosettia Helios - 1st MPD 

JD (5 Entries) Abs: 1 1st: 1399 PARKER & HIPKISS, Skysaria Blaze of Hope with Deltandamba JW - Wouldn't want him any taller, still needs to mature all round. Head slightly wedged shaped with muzzle tapering to nose. Correct ears, well set almond shaped eyes with a playful expression. Nice straight bone. Moves well when he is steady but had a tendency to try and race his handler, he may benefit from being moved slightly slower. 2nd: 1378 GIBSON, Delphox Guiser - Medium sized male, correct head shape. Straight legs with strong bone. Well muscled needed to settle more today to give his best.  

GD (8 Entries) Abs: 0    1st: 1360 BOYD, Skysaria Eternal Flame - 16 month old male presented in good coat and condition. Deep chest with brisket reaching to elbow, elbows nice and close to body. Moved well.

2nd: 1378 GIBSON, Delphox Guiser - 2nd JD

PGD (5 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1407 SALMON, Acadiabyrne Tibetan Coral - Three year old medium male. Liked him for overall size and balance. The best of heads, framed by high set triangular ears. Almond shaped eyes with alert expression. Well sprung ribs with elbows close to body. Well muscled throughout with well bent stifles, good bone and nice tight feet. Good reach and drive when moving, holding. his topline at all times.

2nd: 1402 RICE, Tollerice Eberle - Another who is of correct medium size, good outline when stood with a level topline. He has a kind expression, good bone and well bent stifles. Moved well.

LD (9 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 1417 JENKINS, Tollisty Moet En Chandon JW - A three year old male of medium size. Clean cut skull with almond eyes blending with coat. Presented today in good coat and condition, deep chest with strong bone and a level topline. Stifles well bent, strong well let down hocks. Well muscled throughout allowing him to move powerfully around the ring with balanced reach and drive which took him to the RCC.

2nd: 1423 STREVENS, Tollisty You Can't Decline - Litter brother to first yet appeared slightly shorter in leg and longer in loin. Good head with typical Toller expression. Good front angulation, strong rear with nice bend of stifle. Moved well using his well feathered tail to advantage.

OD (9 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1374 ELKIN, Ch Tollelkin Caife Americano SGWC ShCEx- 5 year old male who was my BOB the last time I judged, he has matured into a strong, powerful dog. Correct slightly wedged shaped head with a moderate stop. Portraying a kind expression from his almond shaped eyes that blended well with his coat. Triangular ears set high and well back. Strong neck leading into a well muscled body, well sprung ribs with brisket reaching to elbow. Stifles well bent. Balanced in movement with good reach and strong rear drive. Pleased to award to him the CC and ultimately BOB.

2nd: 1395 NEVERS, Tollelkin Dream Cove at Sheldrake JW AW(B) - Litter brother to first, although slightly different in type. He is a medium sized dog with a rich red coat. Another that was presented in top condition and well muscled. Masculine head with intelligent expression, correct triangular ears with rounded tips. Balanced angulation with level topline. Moved out well with the typical springy Toller movement, a close contender for the RCC.

VD (5 Entries) Abs: 0

1st: 1421 STREVENS, Sh Ch Erikachen Conaire at Tollisty JW ShCM ShCEx - 10 year old male, lovely compact size and shape. One that I have done well before, although now in Veteran he's still a lovely example of the breed. Good head, correct eyes and ears. Deep chest, strong in body, lovely round, tight feet and moving out well, using his feathered tail to show off. BVIB

2nd: 1355 BARKER, Sh Ch Eusanit Silvr Dream Machine - 7 years old and another nice example of the breed. Correct in profile when stood, holding a level topline and with correct coat. Good head, balanced angles, preferred the feet of 1. He moved out well with good drive.

1st: 1371 COPELAND & KNOWLES, Eusanit Oh Eck It's Menstonia NAF TAF - Just 6 months old. A pretty bitch with good head and expression, nice bone and good bend of stifle. She has everything in the right place for her age. Moved well.

2nd: 1403 DALTON, Rosettia Lady Marmalade - 7 months and another who has everything in the right place for her age. A moderate bitch with nice straight bone. Had a tendency to relax her topline slightly today, and not as together on the move as first, it should all come together with time. 

PB (13 Entries) Abs: 4

1st: 1437 WESTWOOD, Travelda's Genevieve Pine avec Eusanit (Imp Usa) - A feminine bitch who was slightly unsure when approached today, nonetheless her handler worked with her to get the best from her. Lovely outline in profile, and balanced angulation with everything where you would expect. Correct head, eye shape and ear set. Moved out well in all directions, both in the class and giving a little more in the challenge to take BPIB.

2nd: 1388 HUNT, Wakaduze Dotame - Correct head, with high set triangular ears. She held herself well with a strong topline, just preferred the overall balance of first. Moved out powerfully to gain her placing today.

Class 346 JB (8 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: 1362 BURCHELL, Flavour of Tokai Aszu Suchy Las Vegas to Tivalake (Imp Pol) - 16 months old, very well put together moderate bitch. Correct wedge shaped head with almond eyes and high set triangular ears. Strong neck into well laid back shoulders. Good depth of brisket, held a strong topline at all times. She was presented with super strong muscle tone allowing her to move freely around the ring, gaining her the win.

2nd: 1440 WINDLER, Coedhelyg Thimbleberry - My notes say, 'I like her'. A 12 month old, medium, compact bitch. Correct head, with lovey intelligent expression, super attentive to her handler. Lovely round, tight feet. Just lost out on some maturity in movement today.

GB (6 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: 1424 STREVENS, Tollisty Shincha JW - Medium sized, nicely put together bitch with a playful expression, eyes blending nicely with coat. Straight front, would prefer tighter feet. Best mover in the class, giving her the top spot.

2nd: 1432 WARDROPE, Danehaven Nouvel - Three years old. Another medium bitch. Correct head, and ears. She appeared balanced and held her topline well. Nice tight feet.

PGB (6 Entries) Abs: 2

1st: 1427 TRICKETT, Cyre's High Tea at Tollperper (Imp Can) JW - A nice honest three year old bitch presented in good condition. Feminine head and kind expression would prefer slightly more almond shape to eyes, correctly high set triangular ears. Medium neck leading to good front, with straight bone. Balanced angles, good bend of stifle. Moved well with good reach and drive.

2nd: 1352 ANDREWS, Tollelkin Dream Spring at Jemmatee - Another three year old bitch, of different type to first. She has a pretty expression with the typical Toller playful glint in her almond eyes. Balanced construction with good bone and feet. Moved well, but carrying a tad too much weight today.

LB (7 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 1413 SHARPE, Rosettia Shining Light RL1Ex - Four years old, shorter on the leg but a compact package. Correct head with feminine expression. Strong neck leading to straight front, balanced angles. Good level topline. Another in good hard condition allowing her to stride around the ring with good reach and powerful drive.

2nd: 1433 WARDROPE, Goldstar Struttin’ Her Daisy Dukes - A three year old nicely balanced bitch. She has a good head framed by correct triangular ears, and with almond eyes. Stood strong with good bone and a level topline leading to a well set tail. Moved well.

OB (9 Entries) Abs: 4

1st: 1422 STREVENS, Sh Ch Tollelkin Caife Gaelach at Tollisty - 5 year old feminine bitch. She stood strong, with a confident demeanour. Correct wedge shaped head, with an alert expression. Triangular ears held correctly. Strong neck leading to well laid back shoulders and good bone. Deep chest, with well sprung ribs and brisket reaching to elbows. Level topline, well set tail which was constantly moving. Jaunty yet powerful movement showing real reach and drive. Pleased to award her the CC.

2nd: 1359 BLAIR, Sh Ch Eusanit Ever Fallen in Love - A real medium sized compact bitch. She was such a happy soul. One that you need to get your hands on to appreciate, she is moderate all over. Pretty head with correct ears and eyes with a kind expression. Good spring of rib, strong loin and nice tight feet. Moved well, however another that may benefit from moving a tad slower.

VB (3 Entries) Abs: 1

1st: 1419 SMITH, Sh. Ch Tivalake Anything Goes at Tollisty, JW - A medium sized 7 year old bitch presented in good coat and condition. Appealing head and expression. Well proportioned, with balanced angulation. Super muscle tone all round. Moved out well from all angles, just giving that little bit extra to catch my eye in the challenge gaining her the RCC.

2nd: 1401 RICE, Tollerice Daneyko - Another 7 year old bitch. She has a good wedge shaped head, could hold her ears better at times, correct eye blending with coat. Held her topline level when stood. She was definitely living up to a Tollers playful nature today, especially whilst on the move!
