Breed: Norwegian Buhund

I was very pleased with the entry today and thank all the exhibitors who were present, everyone was very sporting and there were some difficult decisions where it was necessary to weigh up what I felt was important to breed type, to compensate for some things and reward the overall dog rather than getting hung up on minor points. The Buhund is a medium sized, lightly-built, agile dog, balanced and workmanlike. I think feet need to be watched, some were rather large and a little splayed, there were few double curled tails, temperaments were super as I would expect from this very biddable breed.

 JD (2.0 )

1st: DENHAM-HORTON Tapui Haraldsson At Jjavacobe

Very nice wheaten, strong, compact and light in body, very pleasing head and expression with good breadth between his ears which were well placed, good in neck and front with a firm topline and well set and curled tail. One who stood on excellent feet and moved very efficiently with a light and balanced action, coat needs to settle and be a little smoother which will come with maturity I'm sure, in contention in the challenge.

2nd: KENT & COBB Knytshall Ragged Robin

Black dog with a lovely outline, nice wedge head with a flat skull and correct balance with muzzle, alert expression. Correctly built in body with balanced angulation, a good neck with a short loin and high set tail, tail tightly curled, presented a pleasing overall outline, very sound moving and covered the ground well, once out of the teenage stage should come into his own.

1st:LAMBERT Sturtmoor's Gon'n Dun It JW

Well grown and breed typical wheaten dog with a very correct head and expression and very well proportioned overall. Masculine but lightly built and compact without exaggeration, clean head which was proportionate to his size but light and well shaped, correct expression, good neck, slightly arched, moderate angulation, moves cleanly out and back, would prefer a little more reach in side gait to balance with rear angles, tail well set and tightly curled, smooth coat with undercoat.

1st: SHORER-WHEELER Ch Koromandel Tusen Takk (ai) JW ShCEx OSW

A well grown dog, masucline but lightly built who is very impressive on the stand and the move, I would like a little less of him all over but he is without exaggeration and you cannot deny his breed type, typical active and sound movement and overall quality. He has undoubted ring presence and is compact and balanced. Head is lean and broad between the ears, correct for stop with flattish back skull and tapering muzzle, alert expression, medium arched neck, true in front and rear with a firm body, I would prefer a little less tuck up, precise and agile on the move with excellent ground covering side gait, smooth harsh coat with correct undercoat. CC & BOB.

2nd: LANGFORD Ir Ch Irish Champion Frostisen Zeffer

A really honest and typical Buhund, pale wheaten, more moderate all round and that is no criticism, very pleasing in outline and balanced, medium neck, compact and light in body with good ribbing and close coupled, level topline and well set and curled tail. Angulation is moderate and movement is sound, tidy in front and rear and a good side gait, head is well shaped, just a little fuller in eye than 1 giving a less typical expression.

1st: 3513 KENT, COBB & COBB Ch Koromandel Best Served Cold At Knytshall

So totally Buhund and on another day he could have been the CC winner, loved everything about him, wheaten of real quality. Appeals greatly for breed type in head and proportions, medium size and balanced all through with a light and compact body, lovely head, ears and expression, medium neck and firm topline. Loin is short and tail set high and tightly curled. He stands on excellent feet and is sound, with muscular hindquarters, nothing overdone but today he just wasn't really using himself on the go around RCC & BV.

2nd CROCKER Leggatts Voulez Vous

A very feminine black female with a pleasing outline standing and moving. Nice wedge shaped head with correct balance of skull to tapering muzzle and dark eyes, uses her ears well, which are well shaped and placed, medium neck with a compact light body, moderate angulation with good bone and tight feet, moved well round the ring, not the tail set and carriage of 1.

1st: WHEELER Knytshall Thistle Ink It Up Koromandel

Such a smart and impressive black with the most lovely balance all through from head to tail, alerty expression from her wedge-shaped head with correct eye and ear placement, tapering muzzle with correct stop and ears well used, nicely arched neck with good depth to chest for age and well ribbed, short coupled and firm in topline, slightly drawn up underline, angulation is moderate and balanced, light but with substance, stands true front and rear on excellent feet, looks very much the baby she is and in her bikini today otherwise she would have walked away with BOB, destined for top honour CC.

LB (2,0)

1st: CROCKER Leggatts Superstition

Quality and very pretty wheaten with a lovely well-shaped head, alert expression and well placed ears, feminine but width across her skull and a tapering muzzle, light and compact in body with medium arched neck, balanced moderate angles, liked her shape and build, short coupled with a firm topline and well made rear, well set tightly curled tail, moved very well, RCC in good company.

2nd: STRONG Draccus I Have A Dream (a.i.)

Feminine black of nice breed type, presented in gleaming condition, very correct wedge head with dark eyes and correct ear placement, medium slightly arched neck, well set onto correct withers and straight front, could be a little tighter in elbows, firm and compact body with a good tail set and curl, feet could be neater, moved soundly in rear, agile and light in side gait, a little loose in front action, hopefully she can tighten up as she's a very nice b.

Class OB (5, 2)

Difficult class to judge with much to weigh up between the 3 girls

1st: TAYLOR & TAYLOR Frostisen Blakk Zitter

Black b with a lot to like and she carries herself very well, she had a very typical outline, correct in head and muzzle with a well shaped skull and well set ears with width between them, moderate in outline with a medium neck, balanced angulation, good chest and ribbing, level topline and compact loin, slight tuck up and curled tail, she moves out well, a little wide and untidy in front, in good coat, in the challenge she didn't have the carriage of the winners today.

2nd: SHORER-WHEELER Sturtmoors Ffascination With Koromandel

Larger wheaten girl of obvious quality, more heavily built, but with many virtues. Presents a very balanced outline and has a super head for balance and expression, she's very moderate all through in proportions and angles, slightly longer cast than 1 medium slightly arched neck, tail well-set but sometimes indifferent with how she carried it, she was very sound on the move and certainly capable of arduous work.

3rd: REES, GUILLOD & GUILLOD Draccus Obsidian At Bucamereru

On another day this lovely feminine black could have been an easy winner, she was workmanlike on the go around but not really using herself to her best advantage, she's very pleasing in head and expression, has lovely proportions and build with a level topline and short coupled body, medium arched neck and balanced angulation but today was generally a little unsettled, her ears were back, her tail was down, her young handler tried her absolute best and did a sterling job, if we had been outside on grass things may have been different.
