Welsh Kennel Club

Breed: Hungarian Puli

My thanks to the committee of WKC for the honour of awarding a first set of CCs in Pulis today and thank you to my excellent stewards and the exhibitors for their sporting acceptance of my decisions and their applause throughout. It was a very mixed entry, skull/muzzle proportions need to be watched as does the correct shape of the skull, this is a ‘wiry’ breed so fine bone relative to size, firm muscle and sturdiness without overall heaviness is required.

1st: RHODES' Tyngeli Wishful Thinking

Very promising young dog with a lovely well-proportioned head, dark eye and pigment. Looks a little leggy at present due to coat growth but this is an optical illusion, correct in neck with balanced front and rear angulation, fine bone, chest still to develop, square with a level topline and short loin, light short-stepping action with good rear drive off low set hocks.

2nd: HUDSON'S Mournebrake Hi Ho Silver

Very different in type to 1, grey, square but a little heavy in bone, presents a pleasing overall outline, good pigment and expression but would prefer more balanced head proportions, level topline and sturdy with a short loin, moved well when settled, certainly a lively disposition.

2nd: 3454 HUDSON's Mournebrake Also An Angel

White, larger dog than 1 with good pigment and eye colour, balanced in overall proportions, would prefer better head proportions and a finer skull, strong neck, good chest and well sprung rib, level topline and short broad loin, muscular and well-made rear, with a well-set and carried tail, moved energetically.

1st: COWLEY's Kashbeluli There We Are Then JW

Masculine dog with a pleasing square outline and good breed type. Very good head proportions and pigment. Bone and substance relative to his size, strong medium neck, with good chest, tight elbows, correct ribbing and short firm loin. Liked his lay of shoulder and balanced rear angulation with low strong hocks, very economical, short-stepping gait with rear drive and just the slightest flick-up from his well-prepared pencil cords, a well deserved CC, his 2nd and I'm sure the 3rd will come very soon.

2nd: FULTON'S Prima Enso Boreas For Cordante (imp Ltu)

Close-up and he pleased greatly for breed type, mature, square, wiry and sturdy, with firm muscle-tone. Like 1, a masculine dog with a balanced head and excellent pigment with dark mouth, balanced in angulation, super body with tight elbows and a firm back and loin, well angled and sound, not quite as light and energetic on the move as 1 and this was a deciding factor, super cording and presentation RCC and another who deserves his crown.

1st: SHARPE & DYER Ch Catsun Comanche Legacy ShCEx VW

Extremely well-balanced and finely boned male, everything in proportion to his size, not quite the masculinity of the 2 open dogs, very nice well-shaped skull, super pigment and dark roof palate, slightly longer in neck, wiry in build, very nice front, tight elbows and a firm rear, correct in hock, very agile moving showing a clean set of rear pads, immaculate presentation, BV and shortlisted in the V group.

2nd: SCRUTTON'S Black'n Blue's Ready To Rock With Gemeau (Imp Dnk)

Very typey and masculine male with a correct head and dark eye and pigment, well angulated and balanced all through with good proportions, chest and correct bone, correct neck, square, not as wiry as 1, short-stepping action and sound.

1st: THOMAS'S Miss H L Mournebrake One Last Rodeo & 2nd: RATHBAND'S Mournebrake Hidden Agenda With Keynell

I'm sure these two blacks will frequently changes places, there is very little between them, 2 is slightly higher on the leg, both were balanced and had good head proportions, good pigment, fine in bone, correct in proportions with a medium neck correctly set, square and presented nice outlines, coat is at that crazy stage and both certainly moved with a happy outlook.

3rd: GRACIE'S Mournebrake Nine Days Queen At Celebros

1st: ANDERSON & MAYNE'S L Vilmos Viva La Diva

Instantly appealed for breed type and overall balance, a most correct, feminine b with a fine and well-shaped skull and correct length of muzzle, medium neck blending into her outline which was square and she's wiry and fine boned and all in proportion to her size, she moves really well and has a clean, lively gait, well coated and prepared I would just like a bit more of her all over but well deserving of the RCC.

2nd: 3452 GRACIE, Ms M R Mournebrake Dear Prudence At Celebros

Fawn, presents a good outline standing and moving, typical head of fair proportions, dark eye, diluted, non-uniform pigment, moderate neck with a well angled front, fine bone and good muscle-tone, level topline and short loin, moves with a typical gait and coat is coming well.

3rd: MCBETH'S Maclaurien Georgy Girl

OB (3,0)

1st: CLARKE & DUFFY's Ch Porgeloci Bobe At Peluche (imp Hun)

Lovely fine boned girl with a fine slightly-domed skull, wiry in build but with the substance and sturdiness to do her job. Very typical head proportions, relative to her size, correct stop and super pigment. Square, she presents a lovely outline with a medium neck blending in and a firm topline, ribs well sprung and short, broad loin, tail well set. Very good, balanced angulation with tight elbows, sturdy rear and strong low hocks. In immaculate full pencil cords of good texture, she floated around the ring with a typical lively gait, light on her feet and totally balanced. BCC & BOB, unfortunately she couldn’t stay for the group but I’m sure she will have many more appearances ahead of her.

2nd: THOMAS’S Mournebrake Insomnia Café

Presents a typical outline and is balanced, stronger in head than 1 and not quite the proportions, correct black pigment, slightly longer neck correctly set-on and flowing into well laid shoulders with straight legs and tight elbows, sturdy with a level topline and muscular loin, well-made rear with fairly low hocks, moved well with a light short-stepping action and an energetic disposition.

3rd: MCBETH’S Maclaurien Maggie Mae
