GRCS CHAMPIONSHIP SHOW 12.04.25 - BITCHES
I would like to start with thanking the committee of the GRCS for my invitation to judge Bitches at their 2025 Championship Show.
I thoroughly enjoyed my day which was made possible by the warm, friendly and hospitable committee who could not have done more, by my excellent stewards Linsey & Gillian who worked so hard & were completely in tune with me & of course the beautiful girls I had the privilege & honour to go over by kind invitation of their owners. A big thank you to everyone. I have previously judged for the GRCS at their Breed Club Open Show in 1998 before giving my first set of CC’s in 2000 at Scottish Breeds.
Overall temperaments were superb as they should be, I know, but I always feel it needs to be acknowledged. I had two areas of “concern”. Firstly, I found quite a few incorrect bites. Secondly the rear movement, in particular hocks, was not good in quite a few exhibits – I appreciate a certain amount of allowance must be made for the surface of the ring but it is clearly something to be aware of. On a positive note, my hands were clean at the end of the day & overall presentation & condition was very good. The depth of quality was exceptional particularly in some of the younger classes.
BABY PUPPY BITCH (4,0)
This class was such a pleasure – four lovely babies all at different stages of development, as you would expect. They were all enjoying their day out & my choice of order was:
1ST Maynard Mr RC & Mrs LJE WEISFORD BORN OF THE SEA TO CHINNORDALE – for me this young lady was the most balanced out of the four on the day – she happily stood four square with her lovely conformation & moved confidently with accuracy & drive. I was delighted to award her the class making her my BEST BABY PUPPY BITCH.
2ND Savage Ms K WEISFORD OCEAN SOUNDS (ATC IKC) – litter sister to my class winner & very similar in conformation & movement. The differences between them were so small making my decision very close.
3RD Calder Miss S GLENRIOCH TOORIE BUNNET

A quality class with some beautiful girls to choose from
1ST Lewis Mrs S & Miss M SH CH LOVEHAYNE BIJOU AMONG FAIRWINDS JW - I have always admired this quality bitch from afar – so elegant & beautifully constructed – she was such a pleasure to go over with her lovely clean lines & she definitely didn’t disappoint me on the move. Rightly so she was to be my BEST VETERAN BITCH & with my co judges agreement BEST VETERAN IN SHOW.
2ND McFarlane Miss K BLUEBRAES JACOBITE LASS – I loved this happy girl’s overall construction - she had excellent front & rear angulation & stood four square with the waggiest of tails. Excellent reach of neck & the prettiest of heads. She was at one with her handler. She showed & moved like a dream. Her first time in Veteran I believe - I’m sure she will have a great “Veteran Career”.
