WEIMARANERS – JUDGE MS S BURTON

Thank you to the Bath CS for inviting me to judge ‘my’ breed at their well run and welcoming show. Thanks too to my fabulous stewards who kept things rolling so I could concentrate on the dogs before me. I am grateful to the exhibitors for bringing their dogs under me, I had some quality dogs and tough decisions to make.

VD (2,0) 1 Mc Mahon, Mr A & Mrs P’s Ir Sh Ch Silverkelvin Jupiter Over Magdala VW CW22 7 y o well boned and muscled, very together on the move. Good head proportions, clean neck in to well made front, elbows tight to well sprung ribcage, strong in loin and moderate tuckup. Correct tailset. Very well conditioned all through. 2 Mutlow, Mrs C’s Braefell Goshawk JW 8 y o, another with good bone with a striking paler grey jacket. Not moving out well today. Has the most gorgeous head and expression, with correct depth of flew and classic shaped and folded ears and earset. Good front and depth of chest, strong through back end, standing on tight feet.

MPD (4,0) 1 Charlish, Mr G D & Mrs R M’s Gunalt The Morning After 7 m o delightful youngster, spirited, which I like to see at this age. Moderate all through and everything in the right place already. Good bone for size. Well balanced head. Correct front assembly, with good chest width. Correct length of back to height, moving out well for his age from all angles. BPD 2 Longbottom, Miss C R & Mrs A’s Gunalt Wingman 6 m o baby, unsettled at first but happier on the move and then could see his free movement. Smart youngster, balanced head, soft expression. Correctly placed and angled shoulders and upper arm and straight front when stacked. Good sweep of stifle. I see his sire took the RDCC today and he is very much of the same stamp.

PD (1,0) 1 Aziz & De Beer, Mr S & Miss P’s Gunalt Cocktails And Dreams. 7 m o, Reserve in previous class, more settled on the move in this class. Well up for size, presented good height to length proportions in profile. Good sweep of stifle and well let down hocks, standing on decent feet. At the stage where he has a lot of forechest to grow into and his head still needs to break.

JD (1,0) 1 Whitehead, Mrs K’s Gunalt Back Chat From Stridview 14 m o elegant dog of medium size. Head still developing, but good skull and depth of flew. Correct lay of shoulder and upper arm length and angle, elbows tight to body and ribs well back into strong loin. Good sweep of stifle and width of thigh and well let down hocks, standing on tight feet. Held his topline and moved freely.

YD (1,0) 1 Sayer & Wallwork, Mr M A & Miss D L’s Braefell Blackthorn JW 20 m o masculine and muscular but not overdone. Longer cast, in correct ratio to height.
