I would like to thank the committee for the invitation to judge my wonderful breed at this years championship show and take this opportunity to thank my very efficient steward who did a sterling job keeping things rolling. As with many breeds our numbers are falling and as a result overall depth of quality is suffering. I completely agree with the recent observations of another OES judge with regards to scheduling and congestion of the show calendar. We were blessed with a lovely sunny day so the ring was dry but it was very uneven and some dogs/exhibitors struggled a little. Finally, I would like to thank our exhibitors for taking the time to reflect on the recent loss of Colin Laybourne and Dawn Adcock during the minutes silence.

VD (1,0) 1 Woods & Pointon’s Int UK Ned Swiss Bel Lux Ch Vigilat’s Rhapsody in Blue Via Bumblebob (Inp Nld) A worthy champion who I have previously judged and awarded a res CC. He still shows his quality and type at 7 yrs old. Lovely head properties with strong foreface, square muzzle and good underjaw. Large capacious skull and defined stop. Nice reach of neck into a mature body with well developed brisket. He is shown in a lovely blue coat of good texture. BVIB Pleased to see he made the cut in the group PD (1,0) 1 Grundy’s Amblalong Oak 11 month old with well developing head. Dark brown eye and blue eye of good colour. Pigmentation coming. Plenty of neck into well laid shoulder with excellent length of upper arm. Well developed brisket for his age. Good angles on the rear. He needs to tighten on the move but this will come with maturity. Shows promise. BPIB JD (1,0) 1 Winson’s Meisan Roly Poly Angelo This 15 month old presents a lovely outline with a crisp clear jacket. He has super dark eyes and a square skull. Enough neck into well laid shoulder with good length of upper arm. Well sprung rib and short loin. A gentle rise to nicely angled rear assembly. Neat hocks which he uses well on the move. LD (4,0) 1 Reed’s Argovian Rendez Vous with Charmlea (Imp Che) Smaller male but great breed type. Square skull with dark well pigmented eyes and good foreface. Fabulous front with well laid shoulder. Cobby short body with deep brisket. Shown in super condition and impressive clear blue coat of good texture. 2 Howsam’s Melleonars Keep it Cool Branston at Jandoes JW (Imp Deu) Larger type with good head properties. Strong wide muzzle and good underjaw. Well boned strong body with good depth of brisket. Nicely angled rear with good turn of stifle and strong hocks which showed on the move. 3 Spurling’s Jelabobs Paco Rabanne for Dantrecar OD (2,0) 1 Mann’s Blairdon The Water of Life for Flufebustles Mature upstanding 3 year old who I judged as a youngster. Loved him then and now. Fabulous shaped head and lovely dark eyes and expression. Strong square muzzle with good underjaw. Good reach of neck into well laid shoulder. Strong short body with great depth of chest. Well angled rear assembly completing an overall balance. A male of substance who is capable of good movement once he concentrates. Well deserved CC 2 Mills Ch Kerjalee Evan Sent Younger male with a lot to like. Nicely shaped head with dark eyes and strong jaw. Well boned body with deep brisket, good spring of rib and gentle rise. Coat is changing nicely. I would like to see a bit more speed on the move as I am sure this boy is built to really cover the ground around the ring. Reserve CC SBD (1,0) Edwards Mopies Dr Zhivago 4 year old boy with dark eyes and super pigmentation. Sympathetically handled and very steady mover VB (2,1) 1 Leggett’s Meldale Diamond Moon 8 year old with lovely well pigmented dark eyes. Good reach of neck into great shoulder assembly. Deep brisket and super short loin. Good quality clear blue jacket. Showing signs of age in the rear but lovely breed type. PB (1,0) 1 Martin’s Amblalong Snowdrop of Lillpop 11 month old with good mouth and dark eye. Pigmentation is coming. Good reach of neck and well boned body. This bitch is a larger type and needs time to mature. Take her slowly and enjoy the journey. JB (3,1) 1 Wheeler’s Makaylen Savanna Pearl Beautifully presented 15 month old shown in gorgeous junior jacket. Lovely shaped head with dark eyes. Square muzzle and good mouth. Pigmentation coming. Fabulous reach of neck and well laid shoulder. Spring of rib and brisket well developed for age with more to come. Short cobby body with good balance fore and aft. Neat strong hocks. A well balanced young bitch which shows in her movement around the ring. She has a bright future I am sure. 2 Mills Kerjalee Dressed to Impress at Mopill 14 month old with excellent pigmentation. Square skull and defined stop. Good reach of neck into well constructed front. Lovely deep brisket, well angled rear into neat hocks. Coat of good texture and is changing nicely. She just needs to settle more on the move. PGB (6,3) 1 Mill’s Kerjalee All about Me My notes on this 2 year old say ‘pretty as a picture’. Fabulous head with well pigmented dark eyes, good mouth and width of jaw. Cobby body with great front angulation, deep brisket and a lovely rise to a balanced rear. She is built to move and went well but sadly, due to a bad experience early in her show career she has had to relearn the process. As she grows in confidence she will be a force to be reckoned with. 2 Sweet’s Makaylen Cu Caol Ila JW A close decision between 1 & 2. Well developed head with a good mouth. Lovely reach of neck into short coupled body. A very balanced bitch which is very clear on the move as she goes around the ring with minimum effort. With a little more maturity in her body she has a bright future. 3 Leggatt’s Mellowdee Sapphire Moon avec Meldale JW LB (2,0) Two really lovely bitches and the hardest decision of the day. 1 Harris’s Beauvallon Jingle Belle Mature 4 year old feminine bitch with lovely breed type. Super head and expression as a result of very dark fully pigmented eyes, excellent stop and arching. Her very balanced cobby body has the cleanest of fronts, lovely angled rear and the required rising topline. Shown in a clear blue coat of fabulous texture. She moved sound and true. 2 Rutland & Porter’s Mellowdee Diamond Lil JW A younger bitch but very mature in body. Lovely head properties with square jaw and good mouth. Really excellent spring of rib and depth of brisket. Short loin and balanced throughout. Neat strong hocks which she used well on the move. Still in a lighter jacket but it is changing and there is a fabulous coat emerging. OB (6,3) 1 Churcher’s Kalaju Krown Jewel of Portville This girl is in full bloom and could not be denied. A feminine cobby bitch of substance with an impressive head. Well pigmented dark eyes and great expression. Her muzzle is square and has great underjaw. There is good depth to the brisket, a short loin and rising topline. She is balanced throughout, and this shows in her effortless movement around the ring which is a joy to watch. All of this and a stunning clear blue jacket to top it off. Could not deny her bitch CC and BOB 2 Ouverney’s Bel, Lux, Ch Ormeeka There she Goes (IKC) Another mature feminine bitch with plenty to like. She has a strong head with excellent underjaw. Good reach of neck into a deep short body with excellent spring of rib and a rising topline. Strong hindquarters with great turn of stifle and neat hocks. Excellent crisp clear coat. Once given her chance she showed lovely movement around the ring. Reserve CC. 3 Poole’s Evertonian St Domingo Girl SBB 1 Sweet’s Makaylen Cu Caol Ila JW (2nd in PG) Best SB Delighted to see her go SB Group 2. Well done.
